(But the devil always played for keeps)
Morning light poured through the blinds like judgment.
Janelle sat at the edge of the bed, towel loose around her, eyes fixed on her phone. Mirabel's messages glared at her like wounds. Every second of last night echoed between her thighs. Her lips still tingled with Naya's kiss. Her conscience? Wrecked.
Naya stepped out of the bathroom, bare
legged, wearing one of Janelle's shirts no bra, wet curls clinging to her neck. "Why so serious?" she asked, tossing herself onto the bed with a smirk.
Janelle didn't answer.
Naya crawled behind her, wrapped her arms around her waist and kissed her shoulder lazily. "If you're about to start regretting things," she whispered, "I'll have to remind you how good you sounded when you said my name."
"I didn't mean to," Janelle muttered.
"You didn't mean to scream?" Naya laughed softly. "You didn't mean to come… twice?"
Janelle bit her lip. "She messaged me. Mirabel knows. She's not stupid."
"Good," Naya whispered. "Let her know."
"Naya!"
"What?" Naya stood and stretched, that wicked glint in her eyes. "You think I want to steal you? You're not some wife material, Janelle. We're just having fun. That's all this is."
Her words sliced.
But her voice was so soft. Her body so warm. Her smile so addictive.
Janelle didn't know whether to slap her or pull her back into bed.
"I hate you," she whispered.
Naya leaned down, grabbed Janelle's jaw, and kissed her with slow, deep hunger.
"Then why," she said between kisses, "are you still wet?"
Janelle trembled.
"You want to feel guilty? Fine."
Naya's hand slid up her thigh.
"But don't pretend you're not going to let me ruin you again."
Meanwhile…
Mirabel sat by the hotel pool, legs crossed, dark sunglasses hiding fury.
The man beside her tried to flirt again. She smiled politely then messaged someone.
"Tell Naya to keep her busy. I want her broken before I come back."
She sipped her drink and sent one more text…
To Janelle.
"Hope she's taking good care of you."
"Because I won't be gentle when I get home."
