Chapter 12 - EP12.

Episode 12 – "Unspoken Confessions"

(Longest Episode So Far – The Turning Point)

The days after their long silent call had a strange calmness. Neither Hemant nor Tanishka had said the three magic words, but something had shifted — deeply, silently, and forever.

They had started calling each other every night. Sometimes to talk, sometimes just to stay connected while they scrolled through memes or did nothing at all. Their bond was no longer just funny fights and Instagram DMs — it had become a quiet comfort, an emotional anchor.

One evening, Hemant sent a random voice note.

> "Do you ever wonder what would happen if we just said what we truly feel?"

Tanishka took a whole hour to respond.

> "Sometimes… but I also wonder if it would ruin everything."

That night, they didn't call.

The Next Day

Tanishka was at her cousin's wedding. She posted a picture in a traditional red lehenga. Her eyes were lined with kohl, her smile gentle and eyes glowing. Within minutes, her DMs were exploding.

But Hemant hadn't replied. Not even a like. Not even a 'haye garmi' type comment like usual.

She waited.

One hour.

Two hours.

Three.

Nothing.

She texted him:

"Busy?"

He saw the message and went offline.

Her stomach sank. For the first time, she felt… insecure.

Later that night, when she finally called, Hemant picked up, sounding tired.

"Hey," he said, flat.

"Hey," she replied, hesitant. "All okay?"

There was silence.

Then came Hemant's voice — low and honest:

"I saw the picture."

Tanishka waited.

"You looked... beautiful."

"Thanks," she replied, unsure where this was going.

"I didn't comment. Because I was jealous."

Her heart skipped.

"Jealous of what?"

"Everyone looking at you like they own a piece of your smile. But they don't. They never will."

Her breath caught. "Hemant..."

"I know we're not... official or anything. But I feel like you're mine. And I hate how scared I am to say that."

Tanishka's throat went dry.

"Why are you scared?" she whispered.

"Because the moment I confess, it could either bring us closer — or break us."

She closed her eyes. "You won't lose me. Ever."

There was silence. Then she continued:

"You're already mine, Hemant. And maybe I've been too scared to say it too."

Their silence was no longer awkward. It was golden. Safe.

Hemant smiled, a real one this time. "So what does this mean?"

Tanishka replied, "It means... if you ever want to hold my hand, I won't pull away."

His heart was pounding. "Even in front of your 100k Insta followers?"

"Especially in front of them."

Three Days Later

Tanishka messaged:

> "You still haven't posted that selfie we took last month."

Hemant replied:

> "Which one? The one where you photobombed me like a chipmunk?"

> "Nope. The one where we both look like a couple... by accident."

> "That wasn't an accident."

> "Huh?"

> "I clicked it intentionally. Because I wanted one photo where we looked like 'us'. The real us."

Tanishka didn't reply. But ten minutes later, she posted that photo on her story — with the caption:

> "When friendship becomes home."

Hemant reposted it with a red heart and a lock emoji.

Later That Night

They sat on call again. Tanishka in bed, wrapped in her blanket. Hemant sitting near his window.

"Remember our first fight?" she giggled.

"When you called me an 'emoji boy'?"

"Because you used 🥴 way too much!"

They laughed for 2 minutes straight.

"I never knew those fights would lead to this," she said softly.

Hemant smiled. "Maybe all love stories don't start with 'I love you'. Some begin with... 'Oye pagal!'"

"Exactly," she said, smiling into the dark.

Then Hemant whispered something.

"Tanishka?"

"Hmm?"

"I might not say it today... but it's there."

"I know," she said. "Me too."
