Xavier, the current Alpha of Blood Creek Pack, was six years old when this attack took place. He lost his family and close friends along with his best friend, Daphne, who he thinks died in the attack.

 

What happened when he goes back for revenge and finds out that Daphne is still very much alive? Also, she happens to be his mate and he just killed her adoptive father.

I couldn't believe it. She actually peed on herself. At first, I thought Zara was bluffing, just trying to escape the situation, but the look of utter embarrassment on her face said it all. She was serious. As she bolted out of the infirmary in a rush of panic and frustration, my initial instinct was to follow her, to demand an explanation for her erratic behavior.


I stood there, torn between action and restraint, when my soon-to-be beta laid a hand on my arm, stopping me in my tracks.


"Alpha, if you chase after her now, it'll only make things worse," he said, his voice calm but firm. "You need to let her cool down."


I looked at him, conflicted. His words made sense, but everything in me screamed to go after her. Still, I took a deep breath and stepped back. He was right—it would only cause more chaos. I couldn't afford that right now. But that didn't mean I was going to let this slide.
