Chapter 7 - Gunpowder Queen!

Class Nine remained quiet for two minutes before a surge of gasps and murmurs erupted.

The handwriting on the blackboard was crooked, yet each stroke was full of personality, not beautiful but undeniably distinctive.

Much like the girl herself.

Her long hair cascaded over her shoulders, her skin pale as porcelain, her legs long and slender. Her almond-shaped eyes were half-lidded, dark and bright.

There was an air of indifferent nonchalance about her.

And a subtle coldness that lingered in the room.

Everyone in the classroom was watching her.

Her exquisite features carried a faint air of mischief, with the corners of her mouth curling into a careless smile—one that felt so confident, almost rebellious.

Her presence was commanding, so much so that the boys who had carelessly extended their feet into the aisle quickly drew them back.

"Damn, this girl is wild, and she's insanely beautiful. Qiao Sheng, your information's wrong!"

"Bet on it: new campus queen incoming."

"…"

Lin Siran had wanted to talk to the new student and show her around, but the other girl simply rested one hand on the desk, her gaze slightly averted, sitting with an air of defiance.

She carried the aura of someone untouchable.

Not a single word was spoken by Qin Ran until the class ended.

After the lesson, she casually draped the school uniform over herself, went to Gao Yang to get a boarding form, and asked for a leave of absence.

**

Forty minutes later, at the Lin residence.

"Miss Qin, what brings you back again? Isn't school still in session?" The housekeeper, Zhang, opened the door and, upon seeing Qin Ran, furrowed her brows. Her gaze was assessing, even stern.

Qin Ran replied succinctly, lifting her eyes. "Move."

Her eyes, far from merely black and white, glimmered with subtle veins, the once cold and indifferent gaze now tinged with a touch of rebelliousness and defiance.

Zhang's heart tightened, and she instinctively took a step back.

Qin Ran strode upstairs.

Downstairs, Zhang reacted, pursing her lips.

Had it not been for Qin Yu, would Mr. Lin have allowed her to come here? She truly thought too highly of herself.

Upstairs, Qin Ran found Ning Qing's door.

The door was ajar, and voices from within were audible.

Qin Ran paused in her steps.

It was Ning Qing, her voice tinged with frustration and distress. "You say I'm biased, but what can I do? When the Lin family's other relatives come over in a few days and ask, how am I supposed to explain this?"

Chen Shulan, weak from illness, responded in a feeble voice. "What?"

"Should I tell them that Qin Ran was expelled for fighting and is now borrowing a place at Yun City High?" Ning Qing almost spat the words, her voice laced with resentment. "Should I tell them she's nineteen and still in her third year, in the same grade as Yu'er? How can I explain such embarrassing things? The Lin family's relatives already look down on me. Do you think it's easy to be a rich wife?"

Ning Qing openly admitted her favoritism toward Qin Yu. Qin Yu had been clever since childhood and brought her pride.

Her life in the wealthy family was far from easy. Lin Qiyan had made it clear there would be no second child, and she had poured all her hopes and energy into Qin Yu.

Qin Yu lived up to those expectations, excelling and earning Lin Qiyan's deep affection.

Qin Yu was her hope, and to deny any favoritism would be unrealistic.

Outside, Qin Ran lifted her foot and kicked the door open with a sharp, violent motion.
