Chapter 1 - One: The Death and Rebirth

I was quietly walking home alone in the usual dark and narrow alleyway when suddenly, a motorcycle came rushing in my way.

I thought it was just passing by so, as a deliquent I am, I continued walking as if I didn't see it coming. Purposely walking slow and obstructing their way out, to give them the idea that they aren't in there territory.

But my wicked smirk faltered when I heard one of them say. "You bullied the wrong guy, Sayo and now I am gonna make sure you won't pester anyone ever again."

Hearing my name, of course I turned around to look at who might they be, but with a full helmet on and a mask beneath it, it's just to hard to tell.

And as I was busy trying to figure out their identities, I heard a cocking of a gun and by the time I got aware where did it came from, the backride aimed at me heads on, and without much time to react, the bullet serves its purpose, hitting me straight on the forehead, piercing the inside and out of my skull, leaving me dead on the spot.

But the weird part is that, despite of dying in instant, I was able to hear those guys laugh, as one of them says. "That's what you get for messing with my Haruki."

Haruki.. Haruki.. Haruki..

That name echoed on my mind as my consciousness started to fade, and by the time it was all dark, an image of a blonde soft boy appears. He was lying in the ground naked, its slim and pale skin covered with bruises and bites marks all over, and with it, I finally recognize.

He was Haruki Todo, an underclassman who I'd bullied and the marks I saw on him was made by none other but myself.

It was then the cinerama of my life (which I thought only existed in movies and stories) plays before me and it was exactly how is it for me since childhood up to this time.

But like some glitch in a matrix, it played again, but this time it was backwards and after it, my mind blacked out once again and this time, it feels like an eternity.

And by the time that the darkness has been lifted, I was then surrounded by blinding lights, making me raise my hand to cover my eyes from it, only to realize that I am in an IV drip.

"I-I'm alive..." I muttered to myself in total disbelief. "B-but how... I was sure I'm dead..." I added, dazed and confused, trying to feel my head for any discomfort only to find none.

"Was all that just a dream?" I asked myself, only to be replied by someone.

"Are you perhaps still high from your anethesia, you idiot of an Alpha?" A sassy remark from a boy who was apparently sitting beside me all along.

"Alpha? who?" I asked in total confusion.

The boy then stood up and rolled its eyes, saying "Did you hit your head or something when those guys came bullying you, you idiot brother?" He asked.

"Bullied me? Brother? I am your brother?" I asked again, making the boy hiss further.

Groaning and probably tired on talking to me, he pushes a button from the upperside of my bed, then a nurse came rushing in asking him if there is a problem.

"Well, this big brother of mine seems he doesn't have any recollection of what he've been through and keep asking me naive questions." The boy said, a lot calmer unlike on how he talks to me.

The nurse then giggles to his latter remarks. "Well, that's how it is for Alphas. But yeah, I'll go report to the doctor." It said, patting his shoulder before leaving.

Then the boy who apparently was really my younger brother then flopped back on the chair, glaring at me.

"D-do you really can't remember anything? your name? my name?" He asked, his voice somehow softer, hinting a sincere concern.

Trying my luck, I muttered "M-my name is Sayo.."

Nodding, he then pointed his fingers on him. "How about me?" He asked, a hint of hope and desperation on his voice.

I do want to answer him even for his satisfaction, but its not that I can't remember anything. It's because I don't know anything.

I don't even know what kind of black magic brought me here, neither where and what the hell is this place I am in, all I know is that this is the life I am living before, it makes me vulnerable.

"Guess you really can't remember anything.." The boy muttered with a frown before getting up. "I am gonna call Mom and Dad." He adds, before closing the door behind him.

Alone with my thoughts, I found myself staring blankly at the ceiling, trying to process what I can made off, but I was never an intelligent one so thinking like this is nothing but a troublesome.

"Argh!" I growled, running my fingers through my hair in frustration.

Then, the door open and revealed a man who I think is just on my age, but as I took in the sight of him, all I can see was the similarities of someone I knew.

"H-Haruki?" I mumbled thoughtlessly.

The guy then smirked, "So you remembered me. I thought I was already safe when the nurse told me you can't remember anything."

"Safe?" I repeated, not knowing what he was even talking about.

With a mischievous laugh, he then leaned in and whispered to my ear. "Have you even checked yourself on the mirror, Sayo? Cause if not yet, you might have to ask Miyo to do it for you."

"Miyo?" I repeated.

Haruki's eye widen in my repetitive words, it was as if a realization occured to him.

"Did you really can't remember anything, Sayo? Not even your little brother and your parents names?" Haruki asked, suspiciously.

Can't help but to groan, I shook my head. "All I can remember is my name and yours."

Haruki's brows raised on my words, then he goes pulling out a stethoscope that I didn't even realized was hanging around his neck.

"Y-you're a doctor?" I asked in disbelief.

As if amused, Haruki grinned at me and once again, it leaned in to whisper hotly on my ear.

"Are you perhaps this is just some cosplay?" He said with a pause. "But sorry to burst your bubble, because yes I am and you are one of my patients."

After checking on me, Haruki finally pulls away with a sigh. "Im going to order an MRI for you, and if there is reallly something going on your brain, guess I should take responsibility. It was me who forced you to do that anyway."

"Do what?" I asked, my brows now raised too.

Haruki sighed again, before waltzed towards the door, stopping at the doorstep. "You'll know soon. For now, go rest." He said.

And with that, now I got another puzzle to solve.

Flopping back down to the bed, I tried to put up the pieces I have.

First, My name is Sayo and I am an 'Alpha'.

Second, not only that I got parents in here, but also got a younger brother called Miyo.

Lastly, Haruki is here with me, but he's a complete opposite on how I met him before. He's also doctor now, and apparently, he was the one who is the reason I am at the hospital.

And with that pieces, all I can make up is that I have been reincarnated in this place and most probably, my life here is also the opposite of the life I had lived before.

"But how do I react now? I mean, what if the MRI didn't support my alibis, and revealed that I have no amnesia or something." I mumbled to myself until the door opens and revealed Miyo.

"Did the Doctor checked on you?" He asked.

Nodding, I looked at him. "Miyo, could you take me to the bathroom?" I asked, his name coming naturally from my mouth.

His frown and tired expression then began to light up. "Do you remember me now? How about Mom and Dad?" He eagerly asked and was about to help me get off the hospital bed when he suddenly stopped and ask. "What are you going to do there?"

"E-ehh? Should I'd be telling you that?" I asked in embarrassment.

He then rolled his eyes, answering my quiry. "Usually not, but I need to know, especially if it involves taking the hospital dress."

Sighing, I nod. "I-I just want to see my body.. Haruki told me to look at them." I mumbled quietly, embarrassed on how open I need to be.

"Ah, you idiot! How could you call Doctor Todo in his first name, you're not friends you know?" He scolds me.

"But I know him and he lets me call him that." I said, trying to regaim my proud self but fails miserably.

Sighing, Miyo kept me seated and said. "If you just want to know how it looks like, I'll just take a picture of them. No need to get up."

Nodding, I sat still and let him undo my the hospital gown from behind and let him snap a pic of it, so I can look at it.

Once he was done, he hands me his phone and I looked at it, but it doesn't look serious so I kept scrolling, until I see a picture when the wounds are still fresh, and to my surprise, it was almost the same from the marks I had given him back then, but is graver, especially the bite it made on my neck.

"Big brother?" Miyo called once he saw me dazed and once he realized I saw that picture, he turns pale, obviously worried on how will I react.
