Although the appearance of loadon does not fit, what is on the bounty, but the fact that he is an unregistered creation.
The last thing they need is for him to get banked and to draw attention to herself.
Iseul heart skipped to beat, but she kept on a poker face.
But chang didnt stop their and kept going.
"And it just so happens that the looks of the bounty photos look close to Loadon unique eye color but different." He gestured to loadon as his normal expressionless face turned grim with a frown.
"which is curious as you were also at the scrapyard around the same time the incident happened." he spoke in a calm as he pointed out loadon uniqueness
"And on top of that all of us have spent time with him, we clearly know he's different from others as he something that a normal person couldnt make! And has no official creators signature. But the thing that concerning is the attention of this rogue Mech and loadon is not registered, which could bring suspicion onto you!"
Chang finished his piece , breathing heavy with his fist clinched at his sides.
Her hand paused in midair.
This is the most her brother has ever spoken if she recalls.
For a second, she didn't know what to say. She was worried about the same things, but she couldn't rush ahead as getting a license and Creator signature registered takes time.
Well at least that's what she assumed. She has to do some more research before, but this was something of urgent matter I could not wait any longer.
But, as usual, she deflected with a soft chuckle. "You two sound like old men already. Relax. I was helping some friends handle something minor, that's all."
Neither of them looked convinced.
Minutes went by with them just watching her move around the kitchen cooking like nothing happened.
Loadon stepped forward slightly. "Creator appears distressed."
"Yeah," she whispered, rolling her eyes while running a hand through her hair. "You could say that."
Her thoughts drifted — to the strange door used to bring her home wondering if she could use it again.
"I don't know what's happening to me, Loadon," she said softly. "But whatever this is… it's better to learn more and experiment even more."
The mech said nothing tilting his head , only standing there as silent reassurance.
Loadon had been watched the exchange between siblings quietly, though he did not understand completely, had always found fascination in their interactions with his creator.
Loadon sensors constantly scanning the emotional fluctuations in the room.
He recorded the data but said nothing becoming a prop in the background.
Iseul turned to Loadon, who stood silently by the door, optics dimmed to a low gold.
" You can go ahead and return back to your room," she said quietly, but firmly, " and remember what we talked about. No exceptions. Not unless I tell you otherwise."
Loadon nodded his head. " affirmative, good night Creator and brothers"
"Yes. Goodnight ," iseul called out , gently.
"Goodnight loadon"the boys echoed.
Loadon turned and went back to the rooftop.
Iseul after hearing the rooftop door close turned her attention back to her brothers as her face became serious.
"If anyone comes by asking questions or trying to pry into anything , you do not engage. Stay away from gossipers , you don't know anything got it?" She told her brothers a serious look.
They paused, then nodded once. "Understood.
Her gaze softened just a little before she turned back, finishing making her plate of food.
They were both watching her — Hanseul worried, Chang suspicious.
She rubbed her temple as she put the dirty dishes in the sink and grabbed her plate from the counter.
"Listen carefully, both of you."
The seriousness in her tone made them straighten instantly.
"I need you two to be extra careful when you go out," she said, slipping past them while leaving the kitchen, carrying her plate of food to the couch, she taking a bite as she took a seat.
Iseul sat crisscross applesauce with her elbows perched on her knees. a plate in her right hand and chopsticks in the other motioning between the brothers and the others sleep in the back.
"No side routes, no hanging around after class, and no helping your friends with errands. Go straight to school, and come straight back home. No if, buts or begging ." Isuel waved her chopsticks as she ruthlessly gave the law and set curfew.
Both brothers were taken aback.
They fell silent for a moment. What was the meaning of this?
Iseul didnt disturbed their thoughts as she ate in silence and allowed them to process her words though she didn't explain anything further.
Was it because we stayed up so late impossible?! The brothers natively thought subconsciously sharing a side glance.
Hanseul blinked out of his shock to disbelief which was claiming his whole being. "But why noona, I was supposed to help—"
Slam!
Iseul slammed her chopsticks on the now empty plate cutting hanseul words of protest off looking up coldly.
"No," she cut in sharply, her eyes narrowing. "I don't want to hear any excuses. Not one. Today just listen to me without any lip service"
The firmness in her voice silenced any protest in both of them.
Chang exchanged a glance with his older brother before nodding. "Okay," he said finally. "We'll come straight home."
Iseul exhaled softly, tension easing a bit from her shoulders.
"Good. Things are… dangerous right now," she murmured. "So just listen to me and do as I say. I'll handle the rest."
Her biggest concern right now was the bigger possibility of the TCDGC coming to investigate and start pulling files and inpections.
Her childhood trauma of encountering that agent from before was still heavy on her mind. How he harassed her family and unjustly took them from their home to torture them.
Iseul will never forget how he showed up to her parents funeral, mocking her and reminding her about it anything ever came up in the system from scrapper Moon he would be the first one to accept it and come looking for no one but her.
Though she hoped that the fact that her profile was locked at a permanent F class would rid her of any type of form of suspicion, which is what she was sort of kinda banking on at this moment.
Hanseul's voice was low when he asked, "Is something wrong, noona?"
She smiled faintly, but it didn't quite reach her eyes. "Nothing you need to worry about. I've got it handled."
Iseul glanced out the window toward the neon-lit skyline — the city looked deceptively calm.
But her gut told her she needed to speed up her plans.
She turned back to her brothers and tried to sound lighter, more casual.
"Now go get some sleep. Both of you."
"You can't carry the universe alone with out cover iseul." Chang sighed softly.
Pretending like she didn't hear his words iseul urged them again, hugging them both and kissing them on their forehead.
"You've got school in a few hours and your gift awakening test and exams are coming up. Goodnight boys"
Chang hesitated wanting to resist, but when she gave him the look, he nodded quickly and pulled hanseul toward their shared room.
When the door shut behind them, Iseul let out a long, shaky breath.
Iseul sank completely onto the couch, exhaustion finally hitting her.
For now, all she could do was protect what she had left — her brothers, her creation, her fragile sense of normalcy — until she figured out how to understand and utilize her gift properly.
One thing for sure this can't go on.
