Ren was a man of action. Once he made a decision, he executed it quickly.
He went straight to an open field and began farming and weaving according to the information he found in his glasses.
The glasses contained all of Detective Ren's knowledge, including every book and piece of information from that world.
Ren could easily find knowledge about planting and animal husbandry in them.
Next came bold experimentation and careful trial and error. He had plenty of time and was not afraid of failure.
The dog tribe was very interested in Ren. Besides helping their people outside, they were curious about his intentions.
During this time, a bold pup from the Mink Tribe approached Ren. After enjoying a comforting stroke, it wagged its tail whenever it saw him.
Ren welcomed them all. Rabbits, reindeer, lions—he petted every single one.
Now, when he sat down, Wanda would curl up on his lap and sleep.
Night fell.
Inuarashi went to sleep on time. The night shift began, and members of the Mink Tribe like cats and leopards started to appear.
One being with a powerful aura rushed toward them quickly.
Ren immediately threw out a ball. It sped toward the ball and started playing. In Ren's eyes, it was just a giant cat having fun.
"Who are you, meow?" asked Nekomamushi. He had no intention of provoking anyone. Since Inuarashi allowed them in, it meant they bore no ill will.
"I am Ren." Ren's posture was elegant, like a noble.
"Oh? You are Ren? You defeated Rayleigh." Nekomamushi became serious instantly and examined the young man carefully.
"What's the matter? Are you here for revenge?" Ren asked with a smile.
"No, meow. I can't defeat you," Nekomamushi scratched his head and said. "The guys from earlier told me that since you are friendly to the Mink Tribe, they are willing to sail with you. I won't stop them. But I share the same stance as Inuarashi."
"Good." Ren nodded. Inuarashi avoided making him explain twice.
As for Inuarashi and Nekomamushi, Ren did not care. He was confident he could become the third leader of these Mink Tribes. Their thoughts were too simple.
Help their companions, and they would treat you kindly. Say something, and they would believe it without doubt. They were easy to deceive, which explained why naturally strong warriors like them could be captured and made into slaves.
"I heard you want the Mink Tribe," said a two-meter-tall leopard-like Mink Tribe member.
"That's right," Ren replied, looking at him.
"Pedro." Pedro extended his sharp claws and took an attacking stance.
Ren pointed at the other and said, "I don't fight for free. If I win, you come to sea with me."
"Fine." Pedro replied after a moment of thought. This was also why Ren had helped the Mink Tribe; otherwise, there was no way he would agree to such a condition.
The agreement was set, and the Nekomamushi did not interfere. Among the young Mink Tribe, Pedro had great talent, and he also wanted to see the man who had defeated Rayleigh.
Pedro's figure disappeared into the night. Ren spoke to himself, "Leopards are nocturnal predators. When hunting, they hide their presence and strike lethally once their target lowers its guard."
Pedro grew slightly irritated. From start to finish, the other had been explaining leopard habits. He hadn't even stood up, and no matter how he observed, there was no flaw in him.
Finally, unable to hold back, he attacked. His claws could easily tear through trees, but his swift movements only caused the leaves to tremble slightly, like a silent hunter.
Clang—
His claws struck something hard. Pedro appeared behind Ren. This was his specialty attack, but his claws had hit not skin, but a thin branch. His attack was blocked by the branch.
"You're lying. How can the gap be this big? How can the world be this far?" Pedro's confidence was shattered. He couldn't believe it.
"Shaken? Then what's your choice: rise up, or fall and never recover?" Ren turned to face the young leopard-like Mink Tribe member.
"Is that Ryuo?" The Nekomamushi's eyes narrowed. He realized that Ren had not only applied Armament Haki to the outside of the branch, but wrapped the inside as well.
"I lost the bet. I am willing to go to sea with you." Pedro knelt halfway and said respectfully.
"Next, I will teach you to grow stronger. Use me as your target and surpass me." Ren spoke to Pedro calmly.
"Yes."
"So strong, meow." Nekomamushi lay on the ground. There were still over ten years before the person Roger spoke of would appear. The man before him seemed impossible to be that person.
"Sorry for disturbing your time. I will likely stay here for a while," Ren said calmly, as if stating a simple fact.
"As you like, meow. Don't force the Mink Tribe against their will." Nekomamushi said this and left immediately.
His words confirmed that Ren had earned the recognition of the two leaders of Day and Night.
The next step was to gain the approval of the Mink Tribe. Coincidentally, not long ago, he had already been acknowledged by the mermaids and fish-men.
"You truly are a unique Celestial Dragon. I once sailed the seas as a pirate for some time." The birdman flew in front of Ren and introduced himself.
"Hello." Ren greeted him warmly.
"Welcome to the City of Night, my friend. This place will make you feel special." The birdman said, then left immediately.
In the following days, Ren began exploring farming and animal husbandry. With the memory of Detective Ren's scientific approach, he started recording various data, analyzing it, and summarizing his findings.
This amazed the Mink Tribe. They had never imagined that farming alone could be such a vast field of knowledge, and on top of that, he also tended to livestock. Ren's efforts won the Mink Tribe's friendship.
At night, Ren started training Pedro in combat, standardizing his exercises, pointing out weaknesses with a wooden sword, and feeding him moves through sparring.
After finishing, Nekomamushi laughed heartily. "Ren, you really are something different."
"The inspection is over? What do you want to say?" Ren gestured for the others to leave.
"You're a Celestial Dragon. You know the future of this sea, right? You know about the Void century." Nekomamushi's tone was serious.
"Sorry, I don't know. Being a Celestial Dragon doesn't automatically give you the right to know. Without certain authority, one has no qualification to know." Ren replied calmly.
"Even you don't have the right?" Nekomamushi looked surprised.
"In the Celestial Dragons' circle, it's not as simple as you think." Ren sighed. These Celestial Dragons were like children kept in captivity. Like Charlos, they had no worries.
"I see, meow. Forget what I just said. Getting old makes me a little forgetful, meow." Nekomamushi quickly left.
Ren said nothing. He realized he had grown complacent, no longer training diligently to grow stronger.
He knew that fighting a strong opponent or gaining power through his multiverse clones was far more effective.
The rolling sea slowly fell into calm. Among it, a swordsman searched for Ren's figure. But after his battle with Big Mom, Ren had not appeared on the seas again.
Whitebeard, seeing the news, knew Ren was in the New World. He did not go to Fish-Man Island and instead wandered through the New World aimlessly, not intentionally seeking Ren.
