Chapter 66 - The Diadem Regains Its Luster

Hermione unconsciously brushed against something in Victor's pocket, and she suddenly remembered something. She quickly took the item out of his pocket. "Victor, don't be angry! Have some chocolate!" Hermione broke off a piece of the chocolate Victor always carried with him and put it in his mouth.

Feeling the sweetness on the tip of his tongue and looking at the little witch's pleading expression, the fire in Victor's heart began to die down a bit. He let out a cold snort and extinguished the flames in his hands.

"Alright, what do you want?" Victor asked while chewing on the chocolate. At the same time, his hand started stroking Hermione's hair like he was petting a cat.

"Good news," Dumbledore said calmly, stroking his beard. He wasn't going to hold a grudge against Victor over something so trivial, especially since he was at fault.

"Good news?!" Victor said with a hint of sarcasm. "The best news in the world would be if you didn't cause me any more trouble!" He was still bothered by what had just happened, as well as the fact that he had to get up in the middle of the night to save someone.

However, Dumbledore didn't mind Victor's little jab. He looked at Harry and said, "You've been building your guild in that room lately, haven't you? I'd like Harry and the three of them to help you as punishment for their recklessness this time!"

"Huh?!" Victor's hand, which was stroking Hermione's hair, stopped. He looked at the little witch in his arms, who was now nibbling on his hand, then looked at the awkward Harry and Ron next to them, and immediately nodded in agreement.

"Sure, no problem! I just happen to need some extra hands to help organize the guild house!"

Free labor, why not use it? Although the three-story wooden house in the common room area of the guild's territory had been built, none of the furniture had been placed yet, so the wooden house was just an empty shell.

In addition, there were seven other areas in the territory that needed to be built, and if he had to do it all by himself, he wasn't sure if he could finish it all in just a few months over the summer.

He had originally thought of asking the Hogwarts house-elves for help, but these house-elves were different from the ones with masters in pure-blood families. When faced with Victor's requests, they would get jealous, and after they finished their own work, they would steal the work from the other house-elves to do.

Sometimes, they would even fight each other because of it. So in the end, the house-elves were terribly undisciplined and had actually delayed the construction schedule of the guild territory a bit.

But if he could have three young wizards help him now, even if it was just with trivial things like planting flowers and grass, it would save him a lot of trouble.

Of course, at the same time, Victor had also figured out what the old coot was thinking. Just like how he had guided Harry to him to ask about Nicolas Flamel last time, he wanted Harry to build a strong bond with him. However, Victor didn't really care about that.

Seeing that Victor had agreed so easily, Dumbledore nodded and said to the trio, "You heard him. Mr. Dreyar will find you later to tell you what to do and how to do it." He then looked at Professor McGonagall. "Now, Minerva, please take them back. After going through so much, our young wizards should get some rest."

"Alright!" Professor McGonagall nodded and then said to the trio, "Gentlemen and lady, we should go!" With that, she led the three of them out the door.

As the oak door was gently closed, a strange silence fell over the office. Dumbledore looked at Victor, who was rummaging through his candy cabinet, and felt a pang of heartache. However, compared to the sweets that could be bought with money, he was more concerned about the power Victor had just displayed.

"That magical array that looked like an alchemical rune, would you mind telling me a bit about it?" Dumbledore asked.

"You mean the magical array?" Victor said, turning around with a chocolate frog in his mouth. "What do you want to know?"

"I don't really want to know anything. I'm just curious about what kind of power can allow a child to possess a power on the level of a natural disaster," Dumbledore said without hiding his thoughts.

"You seem to have some misunderstandings about the power of the magical array, Professor!" Victor unwrapped another chocolate frog and looked at the wizard card inside. "I am a special case. The truth is, a magical array is not something that anyone can just learn. Just the basic learning would weed out most people, and in-depth learning requires extremely high talent."

"So you don't have to worry about someone mastering this power and using it for evil. I can guarantee you one hundred percent that no one in this world can master the magical array to the level that I have, not even one percent." Victor knew that Dumbledore, of course, was assuming that the magical array could easily grant someone immense power based on the power he had seen.

To be honest, without the boost from Origin, Victor wasn't sure if he could even beat Wendy, who was the youngest Dragon Slayer in his guild.

"That's good…" Dumbledore nodded. He believed that Victor wasn't lying. Because when you reached his level of power, lies were often just an unnecessary thing.

The reason he was so worried was that Victor had told him before that after he successfully established his guild, the official members could learn the magic he possessed. He had been very concerned about it at the time, but out of politeness, he hadn't asked about it. After all, even the Dumbledore family had some secret spells that couldn't be passed on.

However, after getting the answer he wanted, Dumbledore began to ask about another question that was on his mind. "In the magical array you just had in your hands, I felt the power of the Killing Curse."

"Have you found a way to destroy Tom's soul in the Ravenclaw diadem?"

"Huh? How did you know that?!" Victor looked confused. He was sure he hadn't mentioned this spell at all.

"The Killing Curse can directly destroy a person's soul. That's no secret to me," Dumbledore explained. "Plus, you just said you were merging and reconstructing two magical arrays, so I guessed that the magic you were using was meant to deal with Horcruxes."

This old man is practically a goblin! Victor sighed inwardly. He was indeed an old fossil who had lived for more than a hundred years, and with just a few words, he was able to figure out that Victor had successfully developed a spell to deal with Horcruxes.

"That's right. It is indeed a spell for Voldemort's soul. Its name is Soul Purification," Victor nodded, then took out the Ravenclaw diadem from his pocket. "There's no time like the present. I'll destroy the piece of Voldemort's soul hidden in the diadem right now!"

With that, a golden-green magical array unfolded in the hand holding the diadem. The Grim Reaper rune on it changed from holding a scythe to holding a bell, and a golden light flowed through the center of the entire array.

As the power of the magical array was activated, Voldemort's soul in the Ravenclaw diadem felt a serious threat. It turned into a ball of black smoke, rushed out, and let out a painful and angry howl.

Dumbledore looked at the ugly, mad, and familiar face with a serious expression, and a sense of caution arose in his heart.

However, his worry was unnecessary. A long ringing sound of a bell echoed out, and Dumbledore only felt an invisible force impacting his mind and even his soul.

Immediately, the howling of Voldemort's soul grew weaker and weaker. It gradually disappeared completely with the sound of the bell.

One of Voldemort's Horcruxes was gone.

Victor looked at the perfectly intact Ravenclaw diadem in his hand and instantly broke into a happy smile. His spell had worked! All the time he had spent combining the two extremely complex magical structures of Fairy Law and the Killing Curse had not been in vain.

Because Voldemort's soul had vanished, the gem on the Ravenclaw diadem gradually returned from black to its original, dazzling Klein blue.

"Congratulations, Victor!" Dumbledore smiled and expressed his congratulations. He was also happy that he had found a way to destroy Voldemort's Horcruxes.

"Can this spell be used to destroy the piece of Voldemort's soul in Harry?"

"That's a bit hard to say!" Victor put the diadem away and shrugged. "It's possible if Harry's soul hasn't fused with Voldemort's soul. But if they have fused, this spell might purify Harry's soul along with it."

"Is that so…" Dumbledore was a little disappointed, but he quickly recovered. "But that's alright. We can put Harry's situation aside for now. I'm currently investigating the whereabouts of the other Horcruxes, and I hope you can help me destroy them when I find them."

"Why are you asking me? Can't you do it yourself?" Victor raised an eyebrow, then seemed to realize something. "Professor, you don't think my spell is the only thing that can destroy a Horcrux, do you?"

Dumbledore was stunned, and the surprise on his face seemed to say, "Isn't it?"

"Professor, I created this spell to destroy Voldemort's soul without harming the Ravenclaw diadem. If you don't have that requirement, you can just use Fiendfyre," Victor said.

"…" Dumbledore was speechless at Victor's explanation.

He realized that he had been going in circles. After learning about the Horcruxes, he had collected all the books about them at Hogwarts and had been constantly studying them.

There was a book in the Restricted Section called Secrets of the Darkest Art, which described in detail how to create a Horcrux. It also stated that Horcruxes were almost indestructible and could not be destroyed by simple force.

At the same time, throughout history, Voldemort wasn't the first dark wizard to create Horcruxes. The first one to create, or rather, invent a Horcrux, was the despicable Herpo the Foul, a notorious Greek dark wizard from over a thousand years ago.

Legend has it that he might still be alive in this world thanks to his Horcruxes.
