Chapter 54 - The Battle Ends

"Avada Kedavra!" Voldemort raised his hand and cast the Killing Curse. But Victor, facing this spell that terrified everyone in the world, was as steady as a bulwark, not moving a single step.

There are generally two ways to deal with the Killing Curse.

The first is to simply dodge it, which is the most straightforward and easiest method.

The second is physical defense. The Killing Curse can be blocked by solid obstacles like walls and shields, but it will also cause serious damage to these objects. Of course, the success of this depends on how sturdy the object is.

However, Victor, a visitor from another world, was clearly an exception. He employed a third, completely different method.

The space in front of him suddenly twisted, as if a dazzling kaleidoscope mirror had appeared, reflecting Voldemort's entire body, and the Killing Curse was instantly deflected.

Voldemort was shocked, as this was the second time he had seen the Killing Curse bounce back. He quickly dodged, and the mirrored green curse pierced his robe and hit a large tree behind him, the trunk of which exploded into a flurry of wood chips.

After dodging the Killing Curse, Voldemort immediately fled into the darkness without looking back. He didn't dare to Apparate, as his severely injured body was no longer able to handle the magic. If he were to force it, losing an arm or a leg would be a minor issue; he might get splinched and die midway.

At the same time, Victor immediately lost interest when he saw that Voldemort had only cast one curse and then run away. "What the hell, why is he such a coward?!"

Even in his fragmented soul state, Victor still wanted to see the power of the Dark Lord, but he never expected him to be so afraid of death, which explained why he had created seven Horcruxes.

But since the other party didn't want to play with him, Victor wasn't going to hold back. He slammed his hands on the damp ground, and water droplets splashed on the moss. The emerald-green magic circle of Nature Magic instantly unfolded beneath him.

"Nature Magic: Forest Awakening."

In an instant, the power of the magic, using the earth as a medium, granted the surrounding living things a spiritual power. The thick, intertwined roots on the forest floor broke through the soil, and hundreds of towering firs and pines transformed into tall tree spirits.

The treants pulled their huge bodies out of the mud and, using their thick roots as legs, charged at Voldemort with an unstoppable force. Their immense power caused large amounts of soil and rocks around them to leap up and make a loud rumbling sound.

Voldemort, facing the countless strong branches blocking his path, twisted his body in mid-air like a snake to dodge, even squeezing through the smallest gaps between the branches with a bizarre, flexible posture.

However, with Victor's Nature Magic enhancing them, the treants' power was much more than that. After Voldemort used a few spells to blast away the "obstacles" in front of him, the broken gaps in the branches quickly grew fresh new ones in a very short amount of time.

Voldemort was unable to dodge in time and was slammed to the ground. Instantly, the low-lying bushes around him, also imbued with power, tightly wrapped around his hands, feet, and body. The treants also rushed forward, wrapping Voldemort up like a dumpling to form a giant cocoon of wood.

Victor, seeing this, was still not at ease, so he immediately added a Solar Flare. A huge column of light once again descended from the sky, and the scorching heat directly melted a giant circular hole in the center of the wooden cocoon. The burning charcoal, still with flames on it, broke off from the walls of the hole and fell into the pool of lava at the bottom, instantly turning into ash.

On the other side, under Helena's protection, Harry and Hermione had been hiding behind a giant tree. They had been too scared by the loud sounds of the battle to look up. Now, they didn't hear any more sounds and slowly poked their heads out from behind the tree to check.

They could see Victor standing on a flat area with his wand in hand, and around him was a large patch of barren land where even the soil had been overturned. In the distance, there was a black shadow as tall as a small mountain, glowing with a fiery red light.

"Victor!"

Hermione saw that the battle seemed to be over and immediately ran out. She looked at the huge wooden cocoon still glowing with fire in the distance, once again re-evaluating Victor's combat power.

"Is he dead?" Hermione asked.

"Hmm, probably…" Victor replied vaguely.

"What do you mean, 'probably'? After an attack like that, even if…"

"Hermione, take this opportunity to let me teach you a lesson!" Before Hermione could finish her sentence, Victor interrupted her directly. "No matter how much stronger you are than your enemy, even if the difference is that between an ant and a giant, after you think you've defeated them, you must always remember to… check for a pulse!"

As soon as Victor finished speaking, the fiery red light in the hole in the center of the wooden cocoon grew brighter and brighter, followed by countless tongues of fire spewing out from the cracks.

Hermione's eyes widened in shock. Without a word, she turned and ran back to hide behind the huge tree.

The two little lions and a Swooping Evil were all hiding behind the giant tree, with only their eyes peeking out.

Harry asked Hermione curiously, "What's happening?"

Hermione shook her head and said, "I don't know. All I know is that the magic just now didn't finish him off, and it looks like he's angry!"

The wooden cocoon was disappearing at a visible speed. Its burning state didn't seem to be caused by high temperatures alone, but rather by being rapidly corroded. Victor squinted his eyes, mumbling, "Fiendfyre?"

Fiendfyre is a spell of unknown invention and has an unknown incantation. According to what is written in books, using this magic can summon an ever-growing magical fire that can take the form of monsters. This fire hunts down everything that can burn, regardless of whether it's friend or foe, and it carries a curse. It is a powerful spell, and one of the only magics that can destroy Horcruxes. The only counter-curse is Finite Incantatem.

To be honest, he had always thought of Fiendfyre as just a powerful fire spell, so he hadn't paid much attention to it. But now, it seemed this spell had something special about it.

The wooden cocoon gradually turned into a scorching ball of fire and slowly rose into the air. The high temperature it emitted caused the moss on the ground to gradually turn gray-green and then into ash.

Victor didn't immediately attack. Instead, he suddenly activated Origin to study the magical structure of the Fiendfyre. His eyes turned a mysterious purple-red, and a magical structure made up of thousands of messy magical lines appeared before him.

"'How could this be…'" Victor frowned. From the perspective of Origin, he was seeing that the magical structure of Fiendfyre showed a large number of characteristics of Spatial Magic.

It was a known fact that the magical structure of any spell would show the same characteristics as its related spells. For example, ice-shaping magic and water-flow magic would have the same water-attribute magic characteristics.

But the Fiendfyre in front of him had a large number of Spatial Magic characteristics, which meant that Fiendfyre was actually a summoning spell.

This was why Victor had suddenly sounded so surprised; it was completely different from his previous understanding of Fiendfyre.

However, just as Victor was carefully studying the Fiendfyre, below the fiery ball, on the pool of lava, a figure with skin turned to charcoal was suspended in mid-air, letting out a painful roar, while the fireball above its head began to expand. Voldemort was trying to detonate the Fiendfyre and take Victor with him.

But Victor, facing the impending huge explosion, simply raised his hands without expression, like an elegant music conductor, and with a gentle flick of his wrist, his wand lightly slashed through the air from bottom to top.

Below Voldemort's feet, several huge earth dragons suddenly rose from the ground, soaring into the air and securely wrapping the entire Fiendfyre fireball, forming an earthen cocoon. The energy of the Fiendfyre was continuously compressed and released within it. A moment later, a massive ball of lava floated in the air, and Voldemort was nowhere to be seen.

Harry and Hermione, hiding behind the giant tree, watched everything with wide-eyed shock, too stunned to speak. At the same time, the person who had been watching the battle from the side also emerged.
