Chapter 42 - Timeskip

The speech would begin to be called the first day of the revolution.

It has been thirty seven days since then.

Caster determined the cancerous people at the castle and killed seventy seven of them. These people were the worst of the worst at the castle. People that Caster did not wish to reform. He believed these people deserved nothing more than death. People like Andel.

Killing them provided him a surge of shards everytime. It increased his shard count by a lot.

The last batch of the corrupted sleepers he killed were outside the castles. He did not wish anyone to find out who got rid of them.

So he made everyone he wanted to kill team up and sent them out to hunt. Over there he killed each of them brutally, making the scene look as if it was done by nightmare creatures.

He even lured a ton of nightmare creatures over to where he killed them to make a mess of the scene further. Afterwards, he proceeded to kill all those nightmare creatures obviously, making it seem like he avenged the deaths of his people.

The knowledge of a party wipeout spread, and the knowledge of Caster killing all the nightmare creatures alone in rage for the loss spread further.

This improved Caster's already soaring high reputation further.

Effie, Harus, and a lot of the people who saturated their cores had also been providing him a ton of shards and not to mention, Caster hunted a lot himself.

The progress was so unbelievably fast that Caster throught he'd reach titan stage in just another two to three more months.

Caster had gotten 4,232 fragments in a little over a month and just yesterday, he reached devil class.

[Soul fragments: 21/4000]

'15,000 more fragments to reach titan class, and 22,000 more fragments to saturate myself completely...'

Another thing Caster found out was that Gunlaug did have a storage memory, not the kind that would allow him to take things out of the forgotten shore, but a storage memory that is better than his current [Bundle]. Much better than it actually.

However, the memory was with Harus at the time Gunlaug was killed by Caster, so it remained with him.

Harus told this to Caster himself and even showed the memory. Caster could have taken that at any point but he let Harus have it. Because he needs to transport shards for Caster.

Effie also had a bag, so the two could get a ton of things taken from dark city. Whether it be shards for Caster or materials for artisans to make things.

And Caster had yet to absorb more fragments that Effie and Harus would bring him. So, despite becoming a devil only yesterday, there was a chance he'd get another hundred fragments the next day.

Everyone's top priority was getting Caster to titan. Even Nephis and Sunny.

'Right, today I should get those two to leave for the dark city to hunt alone. They've helped the others a ton. I'll need Sunny to be as strong as he can be.'

Caster had made Sunny take spotlight. It was risky for Sunny, but Caster did it anyways. Because, it made Sunny hunt a lot more. Not only did Sunny get immensely more powerful than the Sunny in the novel because of Caster, Sunny also got sharper.

Nephis was mostly the same, despite having such a big advantage over Sunny in both battle power and fragment absorption, she was still not too far ahead.

He had seen their fragments with his [Character List] innate ability.

Sunny had become a monster, with 623/2000 fragments.

Nephis had also become a monster and was slightly ahead with 1080/2000 fragments, but in terms of pure kills, Nephis was loads behind.

Among all of Caster's lieutenants only Kai remained that didn't have a saturated core. Nephis and Sunny went past the first core at least.

Kai had returned a week ago, he had shown massive progress for being along in the dark city. He had met a lot of people in the dark city do to the immense amount of people hunting there, so Kai had a general idea of what went on.

After returning the first thing Kai did was catch up on everything. He also came to report to Caster that he had long reached the goal of 500 fragments and that he wanted to return with a saturated core, but it would be too risky for him to go alone for longer. However, he had reached nearly 750 fragments, so there were no problems.

And hence, Kai started hunting in group too. It would make his skill growth slower but would increase the overall teamwork capability that Kai needed. Not to mention he'd be getting progress much faster.

Kai was stunned at finding out Caster's divine nature, but he knew everything was true because of his flaw. So he had no choice but to believe it.

On the other hand Cassie and Nephis were both star struck when they found out about Kai.

Kai was just that big of a deal in the waking world.

'Fangirls can be scary, I wonder how much trauma Kai has due to them.'

Kai had checked around on the castle too, and it was being run wonderfully, contrary to his expectations.

He had expected things to be barely working or rough, but somehow it all worked.

A lot of people came forward and started getting stronger everyday. And a lot more people started going out of the castle to hunt as well.

The preparation was going well in that regard.

Caster would give motivational speeches at times, keeping the morale up at all times.

Low morale would increase casualties and it would also make their growth slower.

In conclusion, many people who were previously weak, had already learnt skills that could allow them to start hunting, and a lot of them did start hunting.

It was one of the reasons why the food situation was improving. Not just because hunting brought so much food to the castle, but because a lot of the hunters just ate outside of it, so the amount of food required to be made at the castle decreased constantly.

Because everyday, more and more people went out to hunt.

More and more people died as well, but the casuality rate wasn't too high. It would decrease if Caster joined, but him hunting alone was much more effective for now. He'd start hunting with the other people after his titan core forms.

There was no longer a job called castle guards. Now there were only trainees. The trainees would train whenever they had time, and the rest of the time they would be working in shifts to guard the Castle or work in other places like the kitchen or work as an artisan on the side.

Artisans had been working on making the things that Caster had requested for, and it was going at a smooth pace as well. Most artisans were getting more and more commisions to make things, getting them stronger in pure stats as well.

Just at a slower rate than others.

Also most artisans were trainees as well. No one could afford to be weak for the coming battle.

A lot of the people were purely focusing on their healing characteristics of their aspects and medication and first aid training. Because that is something that the people will need a lot during the battle.

These people were collectively being called medics, and most of them were not training to get stronger, only training to save more people.

A lot of them didn't even have healing aspects, just aspects that might help the injured or those who can't bear to go into combat. A lot of the medics needed to be there just for the physical workload.

Because in a situation like the spire, most work would just be the physical work.

A lot of the tasks that the medics would have weren't even going to be first aid, but rather support. As in providing arrows and other materials, getting injured to safety, moving carcasses to make space for others.

This was all part of their training.

In short, this was a squad made specifically for the purpose of saving as many lives as possible.

These people numbered about a hundred.

The hunters, currently number about two hundred.

The artisans, that weren't part of medics and would fight in the battle numbered about a two hundred as well.

By far, the largest "squad" under Caster were the trainees. These numbered about five hundred. And each of them currently decided that they would fight in the battle.

No one wanted to fight, but there weren't seats available for the incompetent in the non combatant, medic, squad.

So all they could do was get stronger.

And they all had a massive chance to get stronger, because each of them was being trained immensely well and over a fifth of them had already been provided with an armor and a weapon memory through the memory transactions that Cassie was doing.

Speaking of Cassie, Cassie had reached 500 fragments. It was pretty good considering another 8 months were left until the battle of the spire. She would likely reach full saturation by then.

She was being given shards to her by both Sunny and Nephis, so Cassie was all set.

Unfortunately Cassie hadn't gotten her sword echo that she used. So it was unfortunate, but Cassie had no hopes of fighting for now.

All the other lieutenants had also been doing their jobs properly, and a majority of the old hunters had already started nearing full saturation.

Caster was basically fulfilling the dreams of every sleeper ever. To reach full saturation before getting out of the dream realm.

This would give each of them a massive edge over the others who failed to do so.

Such an immense change had happened in just thirty seven days... or 4 months since the start of the forgotten shore for Caster.

What else would happen in the next 8 months that the people of the forgotten shore are left with to prepare?
