MHGA Chapter 398: Zero Sum Discharge & Helm Splitter!
While Shagaru Magala was dodging the siege of restraints, it hadn't noticed David suddenly approaching using Wirebugs.
By the time Shagaru Magala felt a tug at its hind leg, David had already securely attached the Restraint Bolt's chain onto its rear claw.
After the forced approach, David completely lost momentum mid-air and began to fall due to gravity.
Shagaru Magala's swift flight immediately stretched the chain taut, nearly snapping it outright.
However, even that single chain significantly slowed Shagaru Magala.
Just as Shagaru Magala was about to snap the chain, newly reloaded Restraint Ballistas once again targeted it.
This time, with its slowed speed, the Restraint Bolts penetrated deeply into Shagaru Magala's body, barbs locking firmly beneath its scales.
As the specialized Restraint Bolts pierced deeply, internal mechanisms activated, embedding the barbed heads even deeper into the dragon's flesh with specialized explosive charges.
Within moments, the bolts tightened, restricting Shagaru Magala's movements. Though the dragon attempted to swipe them away with its wing claws, these too were restrained, severely hindering its ability to flap its wings.
With the bolts pulling tight, Shagaru Magala began plummeting toward the ground. Meanwhile, David crashed into the concrete pavement below, creating a large spiderweb-like crater.
"Holy shit—"
After crawling out from the pit, David checked himself and was amazed to find no injuries—not even damage to his cyberware.
"Hunters really don't take fall damage!" David momentarily pondered, "No need for parachutes anymore; we can just drop straight into battles…"
As David's task concluded, several hunters who had been prepared rushed toward Shagaru Magala's crash site.
The hunters understood clearly—such restraints wouldn't hold Shagaru Magala long.
They had to weaken the dragon significantly before it broke free.
Dust and debris exploded outward as Shagaru Magala slammed into the ground, immediately struggling against numerous restraints.
An ear-piercing screech echoed from multiple dragon-hunting devices.

Charging forward, Joseph grabbed Tanjiro beside him, deeply inhaling air into his lungs.

Ripple energy coursed through Tanjiro's muscles, significantly enhancing his strength before dissipating.
With peak grip strength, Tanjiro's palms seemed fused to the longsword's hilt, unleashing a fierce slash.
Tanjiro's strike immediately left deep wounds across Shagaru Magala's wing claw. The enraged dragon roared, straining the chains to their breaking point—though it couldn't immediately break free.
"Next!"
Joseph exhaled and breathed again, this time launching Rakuro, who wielded Dual Blades, high into the air.
At the same moment, Naofumi Iwatani extended his arm, conjuring an Air Strike Shield to form a sliding pathway for Rakuro.
"Demon Mode!"
With a Dash Juice bottle clenched between his teeth, Rakuro activated Demon Mode mid-air, rapidly accelerating down Naofumi's shield-path.
The path pointed directly toward Shagaru Magala.
Rakuro's Demon energy shrouded him in crimson light, leaving trailing afterimages.
Continuing to accelerate, Rakuro spun rapidly off the shield-path, his blades striking Shagaru Magala's back.
Rakuro spun like a whirlwind, shredding down Shagaru Magala's spine.
The collision of blades against spikes and scales sparked flames, mingling with flying blood from inflicted wounds, leaving a brutal path from head to tail.
Extreme pain only further enraged Shagaru Magala. Its powerful muscles bulged, snapping one of the restraint chains.
Just before it could fully escape, Laios—who ran on foot—finally seized his chance.
Tanjiro's Spirit Blade had deeply wounded Shagaru Magala's right wing claw, glowing red from absorbed energy.
Now, Laios aimed for the remaining left wing claw.
Laios slammed an Element Phial into his Switch Axe, transforming it from axe to sword mode, striking fiercely against Shagaru Magala's left claw.
Within a few short attacks, the energy within the axe's phial was fully activated, violently overflowing.
Meeting the condition, Laios thrust his energy-overflowing sword-form axe into the dragon's wing claw, violently disrupting it.
As the Element Discharge thrust reached its peak, fully charging the axe's energy, Laios gripped the axe firmly.
Simultaneously, Tanjiro soared high off Shagaru Magala's body, bringing down his glowing red Spirit Blade.
Zero Sum Discharge—
The raging energy within Laios's Switch Axe nearly made him lose balance, finally releasing as a brilliant, devastating strike against Shagaru Magala's left wing.
From above, Tanjiro delivered a precise and lethal slash. As he landed, he unleashed every bit of accumulated Spirit Gauge energy in a dazzling, ferocious attack upon Shagaru Magala's right wing.
