~Annalyn POV~
The car had barely stopped when my eyes caught Camila. She stood there with her arms folded, her lips curved into that familiar mocking smile, rage burst inside me, burning hotter than fire. Before anyone could stop me, I threw the door open and rushed toward her.
"Annalyn..." she started, her voice sweet, almost playful.
But my palm struck her face with all the weight of my grief, the sound echoed through the open park, turning a few human heads toward us. Camila staggered a step, then straightened, her cheek red.
Her eyes narrowed. "What is that for?"
I was trembling, but not from fear. My throat burned, my chest tightened, and tears stung my eyes. The sight of her breathing while my mother lay beneath the cold earth ignited everything in me.
"Why did you kill her?" My voice broke, yet it was sharper than a blade. "After all the love she had for you... why, Camila? Why?"
