Shinji always did what he said. If he said he would slack off, he would stick to it to the end. But if it was related to Eclipse, then... that was another matter.
As for Grass Wonder and Agnes Digital, although he had agreed, the two of them were just in name only and didn't actually belong to this team.
During training, passersby would often guess that Eclipse was the trainer of this team. Although the guess was wrong, it wasn't completely wrong. Because in the end, this team was brought up by her, and Shinji was just helping her out.
