Chapter 9 - Chapter Nine

Fermion POV

I sighed before I prepared to speak again but some words filtered into my mind from my gamma Logan.

"Alpha, we caught some rogue wolves loitering around the border. They seem weird" his voice told me what he was seeing was indeed weird and my shoulders slouched as I stood up to my full height but still, she made no move to look at me.

I bent down to her height and kissed her head before I turned and left the room, hearing a small surprised sound come from her which brought a smile to my face.

"Tell me more. How many are they?" I asked, my voice changing instantly as I took long strides towards the direction of rhe cells.

"Four were caught, there was killed and two escaped" he informed and I nodded.

"That's good. Ready my tools and inform the beta of this. Tell him to meet us at the cells" I ordered before cutting the mindlink.

"Alpha"

"Alpha"

Filled my ears as I walked past the open doors that led down into the cells and I gave a nod of acknowledgement to the guards before taking the steps threebat a time.

The scent was foul down here, piss and feaces had me scrunching up my nose. The walls here was streaked in blood and marred by years of violence and torture.

Many of which was mine.

I hummed when I got to the last cell and found the four rogues all tied up but they were still in their wolf form which had my brows meeting each other.

The door was opened by a guard and I walked in, hearing some footsteps some minutes later as I scrutinized them all and saw why Logan called them weird.

Their muzzles were without the foamy liquid normal rogues had, they looked far too clean, they were still in their wolf form, their eyes were pure red and that didn't sit right with me at all which was something.

"I didn't know what to make of it" Logan's voice filled my ears and I shrugged as I drew my sleeves up before going to my tools bag where I pulled out a sharp dagger and began for the four wolves.

They made no move to retaliate or escape and I knew something for certain.

"They are being controlled" I informed them lowly and could feel their question coming from a mile away.

"Yes, the controller makes use of a mindlink. I know this because I've encountered it before and no, you cannot try it out. Beta" Jared deflated at my last words and Logan cracked an amused smirk.

"So what we need from them is information. Jared get some tools and work on the last one there, I have a feeling he knows more" I released some of my lycan aura and they all let out groans of pain before the sound of cracking filled the silent cell.

And laid in the ground where rogues wolves once sat, were skinny men whose eyes looked sunken but full of defiance.

Reminded me of Eliana.

I flicked my wrist and sent the dagger hurtling straight at the one closest to me and for a second, I saw fear flash in his eyes before it sunk deep into his shoulders.

He cried out with shock, he thought I threw it casually whereas I was aiming at the point that would cause him so much pain. It wouldn't decrease as the time went by but only increase until the blade is removed and bandaged but that won't be happening anytime soon.

"It doesn't make sense you know."I began, taking slow steps towards him and he stared at me with fear in his eyes before I bent to his height.

"Why you were at my border" I completed, my hand coming to grab the hilt of the dagger and stopped as he stared me down with strain, trying to hold in his screams.

"I must commend your strength" I smirked before I twisted the hilt and the dagger slide to the side over and over again like I was trying to pry something wide open.

That was when he screamed so loudly, he blacked out and I sighed.

"I'll do it" Logan spoke up before he picked up a bowl of water and slashed it onto the passed out rogue who scrambled awake with a scream leaving his mouth.

"I-i-i do-don't k-know" he stuttered out and I smirked before I took out the dagger and sunk it into his skull before going to the next but this time, I picked a plier.

A sharp one.

The second one couldn't let me down to his height before he began to speak.

"We were ordered to spy on you and perhaps get a weakness strong enough to destroy you. We don't know the person but he does" he gestures at the guy under Jared's hands who has still refused to speak all this while.

"Good boy" I laughed a bit when Logan slit his throat with a claw before turning my attention to the remaining two.

Whoever was behind this was going to get what they were looking for. How dare they think to put my pack under scrutiny?.

My gaze was drawn to a thud and I found the man who had held the most information crumple to the ground and I traced forward to grab his mouth before he could complete the process.

He was shocked when I pried open his lips and took out the poison but tried to escape when I brought a cup of sparkling clean water from Logan and made certain he drank every last bit of it.

"Now that that's all done, we need to start cleaning up" I smirked before turning to leave but the man suddenly called me out and fought of a smile on.

He knew what I gave him wasn't simple water but one strong enough to cause problems within his body. It would begin slowly at first, eating through his lungs then it would begin to burn it's way through your intestines till you crumple to the ground but still, you would not die.

A sharo pain to my abdomen had me hunching over in surprise and confusion when a short urgent message filled my head and anger and fear flooded into my chest.
