Chapter 48 - TWD ch48: I never said that I am the good guy.

"Now listen up, assholes, I can finish your pitiful lives right here, right now, and it won't cause a damn splash in the fucked-up world outside.

From now on, I will do the talking; you answer when asked...if you feel otherwise, I'm always ready to better my craft." Sasuke pointed at the quivering man on the ground, whose blood and pieces of shattered bones were clear now on his groin and washed-out pants.

"Don't do it, man. I swear I'm not like him." Axel started crying, seeing what happened to that asshole.

"First, where does the way left from the exit here lead to?" Sasuke asked, seeing them all paying close attention now.

"Th-the laundry room where we used to clean our clothes and all, then...block B, cellblock B, where my cell used to be, is after that point," Axel answered, hoping for mercy.

"What's the situation with the supplies inside the kitchen?"

"It's full; there's still enough food for all of us to last us a long time."

"Just don't open the freezer; we used to defecate in there, as we had no other option. You won't like the view...nor the smell," Oscar said.

He wasn't one to beg for his life, but since it was that stupid shrimp who caused this, he figured it wouldn't hurt to give them a friendly tip.

Sasuke nodded, and Daryl gestured that he will go check the supplies.

He then pointed at the revolver Thomas used and asked.

"Why are you here? Whose gun is that?"

"A guard escorted us when it all happened; he gave the gun to Thomas and left to see what was going on and to call for help. He hasn't returned since then." Big-Tiny, who was still shaken from being bested by someone who is half his size, spoke rubbing his wrist after Sasuke stepped away.

"What is inside the metal doors in this corridors?"

"They are either solitary cells, storage units, or a way down to the basement; generators are in there with some other stuff," Oscar told him what he knew.

"You know what they control exactly?" Katniss asked, wondering if they can benefit from the generators and have light on the cells of block C.

"Huh? Everything running on electricity, I mean, screens, machines, sirens, etc..." Axel answered, confused by that dumb question...

"Sirens?"

"Yeah, those used by speakers around the prison, the ones that sounded in the riot back then."

"Are they loud?" Morgan, who was silent till now beside Katniss, asked at hearing that there are sirens.

"Very; it sounds like it might reach half to a mile or so."

Morgan and Sasuke exchanged alerted glances, knowing they had to turn off whatever those generators were doing.

"Alright, you will come with us, Katniss. Help me tie him up, will you?" He pointed at the passed-out man, and she nodded then dragged the now half-man to a pillar, tying him.

Thomas gritted his teeth seeing that and asked to at least take him to the hospital. "He will die this way."

It wasn't not because he liked that guy, but Andrew was the only similar-minded person here who could plan with him to take back control.

"I'll give him medical treatment if he is still alive by the time we are back from Block B; now we move on." Sasuke gestured for them to stand.

"You want us to face those things outside? At least give us guns."

"Your hands." Sasukee ignored Thomas and said gripping Big-Tiny's hands behind his back and tying them.

"Why are you doing this? Are you going to kill us too?!"

"Stop screaming, i'm not a psycho, we will take care of walkers outside, this is so i don't have to deal with your stunts on the way, now move" He did the same with the remaining 3.

Thomas and Axel struggled before giving up feeling that iron grip, but Oscar, as Sasuke noted was unfazed; the man only put his hands behind his back to be cuffed and asked if he could at least have a phone to check on his family.

"Sorry to say this, but the chance is very, very low. So far I've met less than 50 people alive since two months ago; the rest are all dead walking. Phones aren't working anymore, as everything outside is already lost. Like I said, I'm not killing you or anything; this is merely a backup to keep my team safe. Once in block B, I will set you free."

"And my gun?" Thomas asked him now more urgently after hearing that.

"You will have it back." Katniss glanced at Sasuke, surprised.

"With no ammo," he clarified, not even planning to do that; he just wants him to shut up.

Daryl, who got back from the kitchen whispered to Sasuke that the amount of food in there was staggering, enough to last them at least 5 months with their current numbers.

Though he didn't tell him that he checked the freezer because he didn't trust Oscar, and the scene inside may be unable to be washed away from his mind.

Morgan opened the doors, and Sasuke stepped forward with Daryl beside him.

"From this point, if any one of you makes a sound, I won't hesitate to bust your head. Stay in line."

Katniss and Morgan took the rear, keeping the four prisoners in the middle; the last one was still passed out and bleeding, tied to a pillar. Sasuke had no intention of healing him.

He didn't care if the guy was joking, good, or bad. That shit angered him, and that's it.

Others are welcome to do the same if he himself ever came to do that action for a girl he just met.

Thomas, who was seething at being treated like this followed silently, contemplating how to have revenge, but soon came to see just what kind of monsters those people are.

Those things went down like flies whenever they faced them.

Especially the one with the sword and supposedly the leader, he stormed through those braindeads like they were wet tissue.

His sword was extremely fast, and his aim was accurate; it didn't take much before they reached the laundry room. And soon after, they advanced, killing another dozen of walkers before reaching block B.

Axel teared up seeing the bodies lying down outside their cells with a hole on their heads caused by a bullet, hands tied behind their backs. Execution style. Who did it was unknown.

"Those were the good guys, our friends."

Sasuke just took a closer look, inspected the other side, and helped move the bodies outside the block, the least he can do for them.

He came back inside and locked the gate leading toward the yard, then stepped inside cellblock B.

"This will be your place for now; you will clean it yourselves if you want, and you better help having the corpses outside burned later." Sasuke took a final look at the place, making sure no weapon was around or exit before stepping out from the second entrance they came from and closing it behind him.

"What? You can't keep us in here."

"I can, your food will be delivered shortly. I will come over tomorrow to discuss your plans, and if you decide to leave, I will escort you out." He said and locked the gate of the block, ignoring their shouts.

Like he said, he won't kill them, but he isn't ready to have them anywhere near his group.

Tomorrow, if they are unsatisfied, he will deal with them.

A memory wipe pill may cause them to be ignorant, but their instincts should keep them fighting and alive in whatever faraway place he will leave them in.

"Was it heavy? The way I did things?" Sasuke turned to Morgan, slightly concerned if the man thought of him as...a barbarian.

"If it was before this? I may be terrified, but not now, not when my wife and son are close to them. God knows I would have done a lot worse if you weren't here." Morgan patted his shoulder and followed him back.

"Yeah, we need to be careful with them, let's first check with the doors we left locked and then deal with the basement before having others help with moving the food and meds to our cellblock."

...

It didn't take long for them to check solitaries and other doors leading to offices and staff rooms before finding the basement where the generators were kept.

Morgan checked them, finding that they are already turned off but working; thus, if someone turned them on, he could activate those sirens.

"I will deal with it. Let's change the lock of the door too and i'll leave traps here. This will be a red area that only us here can access. So, did we forget anything?"

"This is the third time we are moving through this part of the prison, all exits secured, yards checked. If something is unsure, it should be the fences and general area outside this building. And other separated buildings."

Katniss shook her head slightly tired from all of the walking and fighting they did; it was always heavy on the nerves how you should keep high focus when clearing an unfamiliar area.

Sasuke left no place unchecked; he swept through every nook and cranny, making sure that no place was left unchecked, and even planted traps around to alert him in case something happened to walk through those paths.

"We didn't find the armory tho."

"It can be in a separate building; we can check it later after having some rest. We still have work to do," Morgan answered Daryl.

"Alright, let's go back. I and Katniss will take a part of the group to help move food. You two have some help with the infirmary and laundry room; take anything you can, and we will put it in the upper cells."

They nodded and retreated to their cellblock.

The people there sighed in relief seeing them safe and rushed to see if they were all okay.

"Hey, we cleared the rest of this building; it's in worse shape than this, so it won't be available for you guys to use and wander, but for now we need help to move back the food and things we found.

Katniss, Jim, Jenner, and Alena, follow me to the cafeteria. Morgan and Daryl will also need help moving the things in the infirmary and laundry room. I will deal with corpses later."

All the group moved forward while those who hadn't been with Sasuke when he and the other 3 cleared this building watched horrified at the amount of walkers and rotting bodies scattered around the ways.

They can only imagine how scary it was when those were still walking in bunches.

But soon that apprehension turned to happiness and excitement at seeing the amount of food in the cafeteria.

There was a walker tied to the pillar and groaning at them with blood on his hip.

The three who were with Sasuke exchanged understanding glances, seeing Andrew now a walker.

This confirmed what Jenner had said: everyone was already infected, and natural death is one of the triggers to turn into one of them.
