Jenner asked me while I was helping him put things on the truck.
"Not really, a special metal I myself don't know."
"I see, I don't have much knowledge about metals. But I don't believe the sword itself is the only reason, you must be strong too to reach that feat." I just shrugged at the curious scientist, evading his prying question.
Those four chakra-reinforced slashes were the only ones I can achieve with the 25 threads of chakra I have now.
While each strike is to be performed in under a second before I run out of chakra.
Really pitiful, from fighting long hours using it with no issue to this.
"10 minutes!!" Glenn shouted from behind the wheel, and the last batch was finally transported to the truck he will be driving.
"Alright, we are leaving. Check if everyone is here." Rick told the group that, while I and others who are armed with fire guns guarded the perimeter around the caravan.
In two minutes we were all ready, the majority boarded the big bus we found around here while others got into their vehicles.
I joined the Humvee where Everdeens and the blonde sisters who were taking the back seats.
"~Everyone's ready?~" Shane's voice came through the CB, and the vehicles sounded the horn one time before moving back to the road they came from yesterday.
"How can your sword pierce through something even a bullet can't?" I sighed hearing the question Andrea asked. The same I got from Glenn, T-dog, and others.
"It's a special one."
"But it's just a sword...where did you get it from?"
"My clan"
"Clan?" I skimmed through that same explanation, leaving the topic at that.
But Ciri didn't, she voiced her thoughts with that seemingly harmless smile of hers.
"Can I have one, Sasuke?" Yeah one fact about Ciri? She is a little genius, but a mischievous one...
"A sword? When you grow up maybe..." Katniss just hummed, telling her she can have one when she finishes her training with me, and that picked the two sisters' interest.
"What training?"
"General combat and survival, starting with body exercises and then the basics of stances and footsteps. Like the one Duan is going through."
"That kid who always holds a stick with him?"
"Yeah, he will be ready in a year for a real blade if he keeps at this rhythm." or maybe even less, he got the right determination and hard work from what I had observed.
"Can you teach me?" Amy asked, i saw Katniss giving me the side-glance too...she asked the same before, but we didn't really have the chance to start anything amidst all the chaos.
"Can you keep up with it? It's not a joke, you will feel your muscles spasm every day, your hands will turn rough and you will have to risk your life and even kill" It was a question to all of them here.
I don't know what they are expecting, but this is just the surface of what would follow.
Receiving painful hits, instincts training, injuries, getting used to the smell of blood and guts, boring routines...
"I will try my best." Amy nodded, I don't really know if she is serious, but I will give her a chance to prove it.
I glanced at her older sister.
"I just want to learn how to fire my gun." she shrugged, showing me her silver Glock. A gift from her father as she told me.
"I understand."
"But I remember you using one too in the camp when walkers came, I want you to teach me, if that is fine with you."
"That will have to wait until we find a good place where we don't need to worry about attracting walkers with gunshots."
It was then a deafening explosion sounded behind us, making every vehicle slow down, We couldn't see the fire from here, but the sound of the explosion alone made everyone here shiver from fear.
If they were caught in that...nobody wanted to imagine that, and the car suddenly became silent.
No one was in the mood to speak for a long time after that explosion.
But soon that tension went down, and we got back to that topic.
The rest of the trip was filled with them questioning some things, the roads were mostly empty, and we took few stops here and there to scavenge and siphon fuel from the abandoned cars.
The unorganized movements bothered me greatly, even after being attacked in the camp, they still don't have the wariness needed.
Try talking to them and most would ignore you.
I may be in the body of one in his early twenties, but my accumulated life experiences are at least 50, with half of them being filled with fights and survival.
I just ignored that and left them to their fate, at least my group gets to have something from the days we had spent surviving together.
They walk together, armed and always cautious and we kept the kids who can't help with anything in the fucking car.
I won't risk having Ciri who doesn't even know how to wield a knife, be out there opening cars and whatnot, treating walkers like horned rabbits.
Maybe Carl is surviving doing all this shit with his protagonist son's luck, but I won't bet on Ciri who hadn't even appeared in the TV show.
Thus, amidst my frustration, boredom, and me evading the Harrisons' questions about my life, we made it through to the highway.
At some point we were forced to halt.
The road ahead was a mess, with cars everywhere blocking the way forward, some overturned and others abandoned and damaged.
Daryl helped try to find a way through just for the RV ahead to malfunction again and pull to a stop in the middle of this mess.
"Ciri, rules?" I turned to her, who was sitting on the backseat between the sisters.
"Unfamiliar place, too many blind spots. You are here, so I stay in the car until you or Katniss say otherwise." she stated poutily after taking a close look from my spot. Probably at seeing Sophia leaving the RV with her mother.
"Bravo, can I ask you to stay here? I don't like this...you too, Katniss, follow the protocol of silent zone." Katniss nodded, taking a Glock with silencer and checking it.
Amy nodded too, but I saw a defiant look on Andrea's face as I said that.
I don't really care, it was just a suggestion.
She can get out there if she believes she is the supergirl she may be imagining herself to be.
Would be just another tough lesson if something bad ended up really happening here...
I remember a herd or something about this place.
When exactly, from where, or how? I don't...but I'm sure many walkers marched through this place in one of the episodes.
{3rd POV}
Getting out, Sasuke walked past Morgan's Humvee that was holding two old people in it beside his family.
"Look, man, I don't think this is right." Morgan held his forehead, frustrated just as much as Sasuke and spoke once he was by his side, looking at the bunch of people getting out from the bus and exchanging talks like it was a fucking field trip.
"Just keep your family in the car, they know what to do in case of emergencies?"
"Yeah, both...let's go see what's going on."
Sasuke waved at Duan who was in the backseat beside the old couple following beside Morgan.
Billy soon got out from his van with Jim, and just like that, a mass of people joined together near the RV.
"Shane, can you speak to your people? Since they know you better...the place here isn't suitable for this kind of gatherings. We still don't know what might be around."
Sasuke whispered to him pointing at the people who were everywhere near that bus.
Shane fortunately just nodded his head and went to speak to them.
"This is a graveyard, I don't know how to feel about this." a female voiced her opinion, and Sasuke turned to it, seeing Lori speak while looking at Daryl, who started searching an abandoned car.
'What the hell is she doing here anyway without a gun?' Sasuke really started wondering if Rick is trying to get her KO'd so he can find another wife...he had more than five guns on that backpack and none was equipped to the wife?.
Most ignored her, doing whatever they can with T-Dog taking care of siphoning fuel with Daryl.
Leaving them Sasuke walked to a somehow familiar man he came to know those two days.
"William, Can I ask for a favor?" The man who looked to be a few years older than him nodded seeing him.
"Sure Sasuke, I can help you."
"Places like those aren't safe, so in case something happens, make the people stay down inside the bus. And make sure the doors are locked correctly while everyone in there keeps out of sight."
"But there's nothing around?" William pointed to the deserted road, barring their people.
"Just in case, keep this on you." He passed him a crowbar and a revolver.
"Alright, I will stay near the bus." William didn't understand why Sasuke was tense, but he decided to trust him. Better than not knowing what to do himself.
"Thank you for understanding." With that, Sasuke briefed him on the possibility of a herd appearing from the forest on the side, and William nodded, promising to do his best to have them back in the bus.
Billy who saw Sasuke from afar, walked to his side passing him a bottle of water.
"What now? We can't really go through this."
"Yeah, we have fuel, so maybe we can go back to the interstate behind and take the turn. But we need the RV fixed...you know how important it is" It has a toilet, no female here was willing to do that job in the woods. not even men, it was dangerous.
"Well, that's an option, go have some rest Sasuke. I will see what we can get from this place."
"Stay safe, I will check with the side here for a moment, I don't want something to emerge suddenly from there." Sasuke pointed to the forest by the side, and Billy nodded, understanding his point.
' I don't remember from where that crowd of walkers came, there's nothing ahead, so maybe this side.' He really hated how few the things he remembered from the show.
Waving at Morgan who walked back to the Humvee, Sasuke bypassed the sidewalk and into the forest, walking through the trees, nothing.
After few minutes of inspection he decided to go back.
Summoning the snake, he let it go ahead and retreated back, yet not even halfway through, his eyes picked out a walker trotting between the cars on the highway ahead.
1, 5, 17...and more kept appearing.
