Chapter 14 - The Impact of the Destruction of Astraea's Family

At this time, Roy didn't know that the surface world had already erupted into chaos, and the consequences of his unintentional action were far more severe than he imagined.

The entire Underground City trembled violently, and Orario felt as if a great earthquake had occurred.

This was the first time such an anomaly had appeared in over a thousand years.

The Gods, Adventurers, and residents were startled, looking around with bewildered expressions.

In the prayer room beneath the Guild.

"Uranus, what's going on?" Fels urgently asked the great God on the high platform.

It was common knowledge that abnormal situations frequently occurred in the Underground City, but this anomaly was infinitely more serious than a God releasing divine power in the Underground City or the appearance of the disaster "Zagnate."

One must know that with Lord Uranus's prayers, the Underground City had been unable to affect the surface for over a thousand years.

Yet, this anomaly reached directly to the surface!

"I don't know."

The white-haired elder sitting on the prayer platform replied.

This elder was robust, with an unsmiling face, and exuded a more powerful aura than ordinary Gods; he was one of the few great Gods in the Heavenly Realm.

Lord Uranus!

A thousand years ago, he was the first God to descend to the lower world, bringing divine blessings to mortals. He continuously suppressed the Underground City with divine prayers to prevent monsters from escaping, earning him the title of "Guardian God of the City" and a lofty status.

"It's enraged, like a provoked beast," Lord Uranus said, sensing the situation beneath.

Fels was stunned speechless. He had heard of provoking monsters and Adventurers, but who in their right mind would provoke the Underground City? In other words, could the entity capable of enraging the Underground City to such an extent be something that transcended Gods?

"Do we need to do something?"

"No need, its anger has subsided."

Fels and Lord Uranus exchanged questions and answers.

The Underground City's anger came and went quickly, mainly because the person who provoked it had left.

Roy returned to the surface from the staircase.

The sky had already darkened. Without sun or moon in the Underground City, the passage of time was only a vague concept.

As Roy walked out, he saw the blonde Elf Girl, cloaked and leaning against a pillar, hidden in the shadows, trying to avoid others' gazes.

The Underground City was vast and boundless; it was impossible for the Elf Girl to search for Roy inside. If he had already left the Underground City, wouldn't her efforts be in vain?

When she saw Roy emerge, the Elf Girl was still shocked, "What were you thinking? Are you insane? Entering the Underground City without any protective gear!"

Ryuu looked at him as if he were a freak.

Roy's clothes were severely damaged, and from the marks, one could imagine the injuries monsters had inflicted upon him. Although the wounds had scabbed over, they were still stained with blood.

The Underground City's monsters relied on numerical superiority. Even if one's stats met the standard for conquest, bumps and scrapes were inevitable. Normal people would wear protective gear; once injured, the consequences would be unimaginable.

Although the Elf Girl wasn't wearing protective gear, her clothes were incredibly tough, impervious to ordinary swords, and coupled with her high agility and simultaneous chanting, she didn't want heavy armor to hinder her speed.

Facing Ryuu's questioning, Roy scratched his head, "I just released all the passion I've accumulated over fifteen years in the Underground City. I've temporarily entered sage mode."

After speaking, a hint of fatigue flashed across Roy's face, and he walked towards the stairs to take the automatic magic stone elevator.

Watching Roy's retreating figure, Ryuu felt her head splitting. What was wrong with this person?

Babel Tower had dedicated shower rooms. Adventurers who had worked up a sweat in the Underground City could enjoy a shower and wash themselves for just over ten falis.

Where there was demand, there was supply.

Babel Tower also had a dedicated commercial street with equipment, clothing, and food, as well as a small magic stone shard exchange facility.

Roy first went to the Tower's shop floor and bought a set of suitable clothes, spending nearly a thousand falis. He didn't feel bad; the rent for shops in Babel Tower was more expensive than elsewhere, so prices for goods naturally increased.

It was comparable to tourist attraction prices.

Inside the shower room, hot water from the showerhead washed away the blood and sweat from Roy's body.

The gentle flow of water passed over his scabbed wounds, and he could still feel a slight sting.

Roy closed his eyes tightly, and images of his battles in the Underground City flashed through his mind. In dangerous moments, he reviewed and learned, recalling his shortcomings to gain experience.

A moment later, Roy, refreshed and in new clothes, walked out of Babel Tower and said to the Elf Girl, "Give me a place to stay. I'm helping you deal with the Dark Faction; it would be inhumane not to even provide food and lodging."

...

After a day of fermentation, the news from the Guild quickly spread throughout the city. Everyone knew that the Astrea Familia had been wiped out, shocking the entire city.

Those who had been helped by Ryuu, Aishe, and others had tears in their eyes, feeling intense sorrow and hating the injustice of the world, where good people don't live long, and villains persist for a thousand years.

The entire Orario was plunged into an atmosphere of grief.

In contrast, the Adventurers were more interested in the bounty Ryuu had offered: eighty million falis!

Even LV.5 Adventurers felt tempted.

Many had already begun to search for traces of the Rudora Familia in advance. One head was hundreds of thousands of falis, which was much more profitable than the Underground City.

If they got the head of a Rudora Familia executive, it would be at least millions, or even tens of millions of falis!

An old, secluded church somewhere in Orario.

This was one of the Rudora Familia's strongholds. Inside the church, dozens of people gathered, with several tables laden with food and drink, clinking glasses and enjoying a lively atmosphere.

"Haha, those bitches from the Astrea Familia are finally dead! No one will be chasing after us anymore, yelling about some damn justice!" A brawny man with a scarred face gulped down a mouthful of strong liquor.

"Cheers!!"

The surrounding crowd echoed him, bursting into wild laughter.

Of course, they were the happiest about the destruction of the Astrea Familia.

Amidst the laughter, someone also raised a question, "But what exactly was that monster?"

The banquet instantly fell silent.

Fear lingered in the depths of many people's eyes.

Even many of them had died at the hands of that monster. Its incredibly swift speed was almost imperceptible to the naked eye; they were instantly killed almost as soon as they showed their heads.

"Who cares? As long as those women are dead, it's fine," another member slurred drunkenly.

"Exactly, hahaha!"

Under the atmosphere created by the alcohol, the others had no inclination to investigate that never-before-seen Underground City monster and quickly cast the matter aside.

Only a certain orange-haired cat-person, Jialuo, hiding in the corner, showed astonishing fanaticism in his eyes. Compared to the fear of others, he was obsessed with the monster's unparalleled power; it could instantly kill even an LV.4!

Just then, a member ran back, "Bad news! Those bitches from the Astrea Familia aren't all dead! Ryuu has issued a bounty of eighty million falis at the Guild, and many people outside are looking for us."

The church fell into a dead silence.
