Later, I can't say when, because I didn't hear anyone talking, only the echo of footsteps coming closer. I wondered if it could be Shawn again, or if someone else had been sent to interrogate me and get a different story. I also didn't understand why I couldn't hear the guards talking. I only heard small sounds of movement and a few footsteps somewhere far away from here.
I looked up when I heard someone moving towards my cell. I didn't recognise this person. He is tall, but not as tall as their beta, he looks stern and very focused. He also has a black tattoo around his neck. I can't make out the pattern on it though. I can't help but notice a scar hidden beneath the black tattoo. Is the tattoo supposed to hide it? Although it matches his serious look and chocolate brown eyes. He interrupted my train of thought when he came in and walked towards me. It looked like he was waiting for me to attack him, so I just raised an eyebrow and looked straight at him. His stern demeanour doesn't scare me.
I've heard that you're not very talkative, but I don't really care. I came here to get the real answer as to why you're here. In other words, to get your confession about your crimes and get it over with. I'm warning you, it's better if you talk now and get it over with, or it'll be worse later,' he warned sternly.
He caught my attention with his direct - straight to the point speech.
'Firstly, what are you accusing me of? Secondly, I already know how it works with prisoners, so don't bother.' I said emotionlessly. I wouldn't regret it if I used this person to my advantage to escape from this place. After a good meal, I felt a little better and my healing accelerated. Unfortunately, I still felt that my wolf was restless, but I didn't understand why.
A guy in front of me laughed and stepped closer. He was only two steps away from me now and I felt uncomfortable because he was towering over me, so I stood up.
'I want you to know that I don't trust you and that I don't believe your stupid story of accidental intrusion. And I will get answers, one way or another,' he said and pulled out a syringe with an unknown liquid.
I quickly backed away and felt a wall behind me. I knew I had no room for escape or a real attack, so I did the only thing I could. I clapped my hands together, formed the strongest possible ice ball and threw it against the wall on the other side of the cell. He hadn't expected that and I was lucky. My luck wasn't over yet, because he was overconfident when he came and left the door ajar. I quickly ran to the door and squeezed through, feeling hundreds of lightning bolts bruise my skin where I touched the bars. I almost screamed in pain at my freshly bleeding wounds, but I bit my lip just in time to keep from making any loud noises. My ice ball should keep a guy busy for a few minutes as I used a special technique that allows me to create an attack that changes shape. This means he should get stuck in a web of ice that expands as soon as it hits a target with full force. These dungeons are huge. I kept running along the path that led to where the guy came from, but suddenly I heard the sound of two more people coming. I looked round and spotted another tunnel. I ran quickly but quietly into the tunnel and saw a very small room with a bunch of chains dropped on the floor in front of the entrance. It was pitch black, but I had no choice, so I tiptoed in and hid behind the wall. I listened carefully as I heard footsteps, and then I heard the man from my cell shouting.
'Find her!!! Now!!!'
The guards reacted immediately and went to the other side. I sighed as I heard them running away. I thought for a moment and realised that I couldn't face this guy now as I didn't have enough energy yet, and while I was still lost in thought, I felt another presence behind me. A shiver ran down my spine. Damn! How is it possible that I didn't feel anything when I came in! I was careless… Slowly and cautiously I turned round and for a moment I saw nothing, but then I felt something. I can't explain the feeling, but it was like a pull towards something. I didn't move an inch, just looked towards the corner from where I felt the pull, and finally I noticed a familiar figure. And then I saw him open his dark glowing green eyes. He didn't say anything, just watched me. I don't know why he didn't immediately throw me back into the cell, call the guards or kill me as soon as he saw me. He didn't release his aura, so if you didn't know, you wouldn't even realise an Alpha was here. I remember! IT was his hands that caught me in the forest, and I felt a strange tingling sensation in the places he touched. I think… Or I'm just imagining it, after all, I was exhausted at the time. I came back to my senses when I felt that I was still being watched. It was a very uncomfortable silence.
'So… You're not going to do anything? You do realise that your prisoner has escaped, don't you?' That was probably the stupidest thing I've ever said out loud. The situation was far too strange.
He looked at me as if to say, 'Seriously?' Yes, I know I said something stupid, but still….... His prisoner is standing right in front of him and he's doing nothing. Is he going to let me go? No, that's not possible. If they think I'm a spy or something, they certainly wouldn't do that. Maybe he's testing me. I can't make any mistakes if I want to have even a tiny chance of leaving this place. I'm no match for an alpha, but he's not doing anything to stop me, so maybe I'll just try my luck and run away.
Unfortunately, as I expected, he spoke up the moment I stepped back.
'You call that running away?" He said mockingly and smiled.
So, he's just having fun teasing me. I wonder if he already knows about my gift or if he hasn't yet been informed through a mind link. It could be that he doesn't know, if the guy doesn't want to get in trouble for my escape before he finds me himself.
'Don't mind if I do. Your pack members should be more careful when dealing with prisoners, because when they don't… Well, you see what happens.' I smiled and waited for his reaction.
He chuckled. Seriously? I wonder what he finds so funny here... Shouldn't he be more concerned about discipline in his pack?
'You're probably right, but it's not easy to get through my delta. So how did you manage it?' He asked simply.
'I just happen to have a trick or two up my sleeve, that's all.' I said, shrugging my shoulders like it was no big deal.
'Do you want to show them to me too?' He smiled sheepishly.
He really does have an attractive smile, which confused me as much as his words. He must have a lot of confidence in his strength. The strangest thing is that he doesn't know what tricks I might have up my sleeve and he still makes fun of me. He looks far too relaxed in a situation like this.
'What do you mean?' I asked, confused.
'I mean that I don't call it an escape, but you have a chance if you can surprise me too. It's not much of a chance since you can't even step foot outside, but I'll let you try,' he said as he came a little closer.
Even though he was a few steps away, I could somehow feel the warmth emanating from him. Very strange… It's like... I don't know, I can't put my finger on it… Anyway, I'm not sure if I still have the strength to attack him, and I'm sure he's just trying to deceive me. Still, if I have a chance, maybe I'll give it a go. I think it would also be good to weaken his confidence a little. Or are they all like that in this pack?
'So, have you made up your mind? Are you going to try?' He kept smiling and watching me closely.
I took two steps back to be behind the door frame. He was still watching me closely, but he didn't move. I placed my palms on either side of the empty doorframe and spoke to him.
'It looks like you're enjoying yourself. Don't be too sad if we don't meet again, I said kindly, winking at him and instantly released the energy from my palms that I had accumulated while talking to him. I whispered 'Shield of the Ocean' and the whole frame froze into a waving ice shield, trapping him in that room. With the normal strength of a wolf, you can break through it in ten or twenty very strong blows by weakening the shield's protection, but if it's an Alpha….... I better hurry...
I turned round and began to run. I heard the sound of cracking ice, but I didn't stop. It was strange because the whole corridor was empty. I quickly ran up the stairs and before I could reach for a door handle, someone grabbed me by the waist and pulled me back. I let out a little scream as the tension rose inside me, but at the same time I felt a tingling sensation in my body that calmed me down. I felt my wolf relax. What the hell was happening to me? These strange feelings scared me more than the situation I was in: I mean, back in prison. I tried to free myself from his grip, but it was no use. He bent his head close to my ear and whispered.
'I told you that you can't go outside. At least not yet.'
His whisper made my ear tingle even more. I could feel my cheeks burning. Was I blushing? How could that happen? I mean… Why would I? I wriggled again, trying to get free, and he let go of me. I turned round to face him and he looked at me in surprise.
'You don't know...' he said more to himself than to me. He looked confused.
'What are you talking about?' I asked, confused.
He shook his head.
'I'm sorry, but you have to go back to your cell, I'm busy and I don't have time to play cat and mouse' He grabbed me by the arm and dragged me back into the cell.
'I don't know what exactly? What did you mean?' I asked as he pulled me. Apparently, he hadn't even realised I was trying to get free. It's strange, but he didn't hurt me. His grip on my arm was strong enough to hold me, but not to hurt me. They really don't know how to torture people. What a bunch of wimps.
He pushed me back into the cell, where I saw THE guy standing in the corner.
'Liam, you better not let her escape again. You won't like the consequences. Have I made myself clear?' Warned Alpha.
'Yes, Alpha.' The guy called Liam replied, baring his neck in submission.
Then Alpha walked away. So, this is the delta of this pack. We looked at each other for a while and then he spoke.
'I admit you got me once, but that was the first and last time you had your chance. So, let's pick up where we left off, shall we?' Liam said angrily and without waiting for my answer, he attacked me.
He kicked me in the stomach and I fell to my knees, trying to catch my breath as he quickly grabbed me by the hair and squirted the liquid from a syringe into my neck.
'If you survive this, I will ask you the same question again. If not, then..." he said and went on to say that he wouldn't risk the lives of his pack members again. I couldn't hear everything he said as the unbearable burning pain enveloped my body.
I didn't understand what he was accusing me of… It was probably something about a wolf curse. I felt my wolf getting weaker and weaker until I lost consciousness from the burning pain that engulfed every vein in my body. It was as if my blood was boiling under my skin...
