It moved gently through the endless meadow, bending the sea of golden grass into graceful waves before disappearing beyond the distant hills. Somewhere above, white birds glided lazily across the radiant sky, their cries faint enough to sound like echoes carried from another age.
Caelion watched them for a moment before turning his attention back to the young prince standing before him.
A smile rested upon the Wind God's face—not the smile of someone amused, but of someone who had finally finished speaking of difficult things.
"Now that the first reason I brought you here has been fulfilled..." Caelion said, his voice carrying effortlessly through the endless currents that circled his golden realm. "It only remains to fulfill the second reason I interrupted your trial. You must pass my test to unlock my blessing within you."
