"You should know," he said carefully, leaning back against the table, arms crossed,
"that the young lady of the Raventhorn family might very well be at the heart of all this. She's a woman that thinks she's scorned. She might be doing all these in rage and anger."
Valerian did not look up from the parchment he was holding. His quill paused mid-stroke.
Soren continued, undeterred. "Cynthia Raventhorn has never been subtle about her resentment. And her family—well, we both know how hungry they are for influence. Her and uncles have never been subtle about it.
