Chapter 3 - Some Girls Bring Files. Others Bring Chaos.

INT. KANG CORPORATION – MAIN OFFICE FLOOR – MORNING

A fresh morning.

Buzzing office.

Eyes still follow the new girl.

IM SERI walks in, quiet as usual, wearing a simple blouse and slacks. Hair tied low. No smile, no panic.

Kim Bora sips her iced coffee while applying lip gloss in her compact mirror.

She watches Seri like a hawk watches prey in heels.

KIM BORA (loudly)

"We should test how good our new PR fixer is at the little things, don't you think?"

The team chuckles. Seri looks over, unfazed.

KIM BORA (overly sweet)

"Seri-ssi~ Can you please prepare tea for CEO Kang?

He always needs his morning tea before his 9AM call."

SERI (calmly)

"Isn't that the secretary's task?"

KIM BORA

"Oh? You said you could do anything, right? I'm just helping you… blend in."

She leans closer, eyes sparkling with subtle threat.

KIM BORA

"It's very simple. But there are… rules."

She starts listing them like it's an Olympic sport.

KIM BORA

"Not too hot. Not too cold.

Jasmine tea. One and a half teaspoons of honey — never two.

Steeped exactly 2 minutes and 43 seconds.

Poured into the black matte mug, not the navy.

Mug handle to the left, label facing out. He notices everything."

COWORKER (muttering)

"She's doing this again…"

KIM BORA (with a smile)

"Think you can handle that, PR Fixer?"

SERI (pauses, then shrugs)

"Sure."

INT. PANTRY – MOMENTS LATER

Seri stands at the counter. Calm hands.

She brews the tea while glancing at her watch — counting the seconds without blinking.

SERI (V.O.)

They think this is hard?

I've delivered cocktails to mob lawyers without spilling a drop.

She places the tea perfectly in the black mug, positions everything just right.

INT. KANG CORPORATION – PANTRY – MORNING

IM SERI finishes preparing the tea — calm, precise.

KIM BORA peeks in, grinning like she's won a game.

KIM BORA

"You're done? Great! Deliver it."

SERI (glances at her)

"I thought I wasn't the secretary."

KIM BORA (waves hand)

"Today, you're the brave intern."

She leans in, whispering with gleeful suspense.

KIM BORA

"I need to see his reaction. If you mess this up… that's it.

He'll never look at you again."

SERI

"Was he supposed to?"

KIM BORA (delulu smile)

"He only looks at women who get it perfect.

Which is… usually me."

Seri simply picks up the tray, unfazed.

SERI

"Then you should've made the tea."

Bora blinks.

Seri walks out.

KIM BORA (to herself, whispering)

"She's going to get vaporized."

INT. KANG JUNGHO'S OFFICE – MORNING

Jungho sits at his desk, glasses reflecting the screen light. Papers in front of him. The air is still.

A knock.

JUNGHO

"Come in."

The door opens.

Im Seri steps in, composed and graceful, holding a tray.

She places the black mug gently on the coaster without waiting for an invitation.

SERI

"No one asked me. But I thought…

maybe a warm cup of tea would help start the day."

Jungho's fingers stop moving. He looks up — slowly.

His eyes meet hers.

JUNGHO (flat)

"That's not your job."

SERI (nods once)

"Noted."

JUNGHO (glances at the tea, then her)

"You don't know what I need.

Next time, focus on what you're actually here for.

I don't entertain unnecessary gestures."

SERI (calm)

"Then give me something necessary."

A beat.

Jungho leans back slightly, studying her.

Then picks up a file from the side of his desk and offers it.

JUNGHO

"This is from a pending sponsorship client.

Their PR team's making noise."

JUNGHO (coldly)

"Fix it."

She accepts the file without breaking eye contact.

SERI

"Consider it done."

She turns and walks out, silent as ever.

The untouched tea sits between them like a line not to be crossed.

INT. OFFICE FLOOR – CONTINUOUS

Kim Bora stands by the glass wall like she's watching a courtroom drama.

As Seri steps out, Bora immediately intercepts her.

KIM BORA (smirking)

"He didn't drink it, huh?"

Seri doesn't respond.

KIM BORA (leaning closer)

"He never eats or drinks anything he didn't ask for.

Rule number one. You'll learn."

SERI (without stopping)

"Good. I like learning."

She walks away.

Bora watches her go, still grinning.

KIM BORA (to herself)

"And I like winning."

INT. KANG CORPORATION – PR DEPARTMENT – AFTERNOON

IM SERI sits at her desk with Jungho's client file spread out in front of her.

Sharp eyes, calm expression. She's already scanning potential solutions. Fast.

Just as she begins typing —

COWORKER 1 (whispering to Bora)

"She's really working…"

KIM BORA (smirking)

"Let's test her multitasking skills."

She loudly claps her hands.

KIM BORA

"Oh! Seri-ssi! The printer on the 3rd floor jammed again. Could you…?"

SERI (without looking up)

"Is the tray blinking red or blue?"

COWORKER

"Uh… blue?"

Seri stands.

Heads to the hallway. Returns in 2 minutes with her hands clean and calm.

SERI

"It's fixed. Paper was loaded wrong."

KIM BORA (blinks)

"Already?"

Seri sits back down.

Barely opens the file when—

COWORKER 2 (chimes in)

"Sorry… someone reset the Wi-Fi router and it's gone haywire again."

SERI

"Give me a second."

She opens her phone, keys in a few numbers, pulls up a tech admin panel.

Wi-Fi reconnects.

Office: stunned.

MONTAGE – OFFICE CHAOS, SERI CALM

🎵 (Cue upbeat K-drama bgm)

• Seri manually reprograms a glitching employee card scanner.

• She restocks the exploding coffee machine without it exploding.

• Bora spills files on purpose — Seri picks them up before they hit the ground.

• She scans 200 pages in one shot with perfect alignment.

• Bora places a stack of mismatched binders on her desk — Seri arranges and color-codes them in seconds.

INT. PR DEPARTMENT – LATER

Seri's desk is now weirdly organized. A coworker watches her like she's an alien.

COWORKER 3

"Is she… human?"

KIM BORA (arms crossed)

"She's too calm. No normal person would handle this without cursing."

Just then, Seri sneezes delicately.

Everyone freezes.

COWORKER 1 (whispers)

"She can sneeze…"

COWORKER 2

"She's one of us…"

INT. KANG CORPORATION – OFFICE FLOOR – NIGHT

INT. KANG CORPORATION – OFFICE FLOOR – 11:47 PM

The digital wall clock glows: 23:47.

The office is mostly dark.

A few computer screens stay on — glowing faintly with screensavers and login pages. Background hum of printers asleep. System updates blinking quietly.

But only one desk is alive.

IM SERI types quietly, surrounded by files she's nearly cleared.

SERI (V.O.)

They doubled my tasks. Tripled my deadlines.

Cute. They think I'll break.

She closes the final file, then stretches.

SERI (V.O.)

But if I don't get caffeine in the next 5 minutes, someone's getting karate-chopped.

She heads to the pantry.

Seri steps into the pantry. Lights flicker once.

She opens the upper cabinet — empty.

Checks the shelf — nothing but expired chamomile tea.

Then, salvation: a dusty cold brew bottle inside the fridge.

SERI (relieved)

"Finally. One thing that's not trying to sabotage me."

Just as she grabs a mug—

CLACK. CLACK. CLACK.

Footsteps.

Sharp. Heavy. Close.

She pauses. Glances toward the hallway.

SERI (V.O.)

Late-night footsteps at Kang Corporation.

Could be HR. Could be a ghost. Could be a very punctual tax demon.

Without a flinch, she reaches for a metal spoon.

Then casually lowers herself behind the counter.

SERI (V.O.)

I've dodged bullets. This is just… corporate awkwardness.

She peeks between cabinet slits. Her eyes squint.

SERI (V.O.)

Polished shoes. Black coat. That's not HR.

That's the CEO.

Clock on the microwave blinks: 11:53 PM

She freezes.

SERI (muttering to herself)

"Why are you hiding like a raccoon? You literally work here."

She adjusts her posture slightly, still holding the spoon like a weapon.

SERI (V.O.)

This isn't fear. This is strategic avoidance.

Because if he sees me now… I might actually have to talk to him.

She slowly backs into the cabinet shadow like a ninja in a romantic comedy.

Footsteps echo along the hallway.

KANG JUNGHO walks past the pantry, not noticing the silent figure hidden inside.

His tailored coat sways behind him, his face sharp and unreadable.

He heads toward his private office, unlocks the door, and enters.

Inside, the light flickers on.

He walks directly to his desk, opens a drawer, and pulls out his laptop and a folder marked "PRIVATE."

JUNGHO (muttering)

"Almost left you behind."

Just as he's about to shut the light—

📱 RING RING.

He checks the screen. His eyes narrow slightly.

He answers the call and walks back out into the hallway.

Seri crouched inside the pantry still. Spoon in one hand.

Coffee halfway to her lips.

Her eyes flick to the door as she hears footsteps again.

Then—

JUNGHO (on phone)

"Hanna? What are you doing calling at this hour?"

She freezes.

HANNA (V.O., from phone)

"I'm in the lobby."

JUNGHO (quietly)

"What? Why?"

HANNA (playful tone)

"I wanted to see you. I figured you might still be at the office."

JUNGHO

"How would you know that?"

HANNA

"Daejin told me."

He sighs, quietly annoyed. Not with her — just… conflicted.

Seri's eyes widen just a bit, processing the name Hanna — but her expression stays neutral.

SERI (V.O.)

The lobby. This late? Is she a girlfriend? Stalker? VIP client?

Not that I care…

The hallway is dim. The door to Jungho's office is still wide open.

Seri, still crouched in the pantry, is now leaning awkwardly against the cabinet.

Her knees hurt. Her coffee's cold.

SERI (V.O.)

This wasn't part of the plan.

I've scaled buildings, but this floor tile is what's gonna destroy me.

She adjusts her sitting.

Then lays flat for a second.

Then crouches again like a crab.

SERI (muttering)

"Why am I like this…"

From her hiding spot, she hears footsteps.

Heels. Deliberate. Confident.

Then a soft voice.

HANNA (O.S.)

"Jungho-ah."

Seri's eyes narrow slightly.

She can't see anything — just shadows, voices, and a faint scent of expensive perfume.

JUNGHO (softly)

"You came up after all."

HANNA

"Of course I did. Who else would you let ruin your night?"

SERI (V.O.)

Is that… flirting?

She tries to shift quietly and knocks over a metal spoon with a soft CLINK.

She freezes.

SERI (V.O.)

No one heard that. Hopefully.

Then—

Silence.

Until…

HANNA (O.S.)

"I missed you."

A soft rustle of fabric. Seri can't see it, but the tone changes.

Warm. Intimate.

JUNGHO (O.S.)

"Hanna…"

Seri's eyes widen as she hears what sounds dangerously close to—

A hug?

A kiss??

She stiffens, awkwardly stuck between a bag of sugar and a mop bucket.

SERI (V.O., deadpan)

Fantastic. Now I'm hiding during a soap opera.

Her expression: blank. Coffee in one hand. Dignity in zero.

She blinks once.

SERI (V.O.)

So… he has a woman.

SERI (beat)

This company really is chaotic.
