Chapter 469 - Chapter 468: A Little Love Goes a Long Way

"Gum-Gum Giant White Sun Gun!"

The furious Joy Boy completely ignored the incoming attacks and launched his devastating punch directly at the azure giant's chest where Jerry was positioned.

The colossal water construct's torso shattered under the tremendous impact, sending massive volumes of seawater cascading downward and triggering an enormous tsunami that spread across the battlefield.

But before Luffy could withdraw his extended fist, the azure giant recovered instantly, its chest reforming around his arm and locking it firmly in place. Jerry's figure had somehow relocated to the giant's head during the chaos.

This unexpected development startled the possessed Straw Hat, and he suddenly felt an overwhelming sense of impending danger.

"Take this!"

Jerry's voice echoed across the water as the azure giant immediately pivoted with fluid grace. Water surged rapidly around both titans as the blue colossus lifted off the ocean surface and clamped the white giant's neck tightly between its massive legs before twisting with devastating force.

Both giants crashed sideways onto the sea simultaneously. Due to "Luffy's" rubber assimilation, the ocean surface collapsed like an enormous trampoline once again.

"It's completely useless!" "Luffy" erupted with overwhelming Conqueror's Haki as his muscular arms bulged in preparation for a counterattack.

But Jerry sneered with confidence: "Useless? Then open your eyes and take a good look at this!"

Before he finished speaking, the previously concave sea surface suddenly stopped its downward motion. This abrupt shift in momentum cleverly launched both giants upward while simultaneously interrupting the attack Luffy was about to unleash.

At that precise moment, another azure giant materialized from the surrounding water and seized Luffy in an unbreakable grip.

Simultaneously, massive waves thousands of meters high rushed in from all directions, completely submerging both enormous forms beneath the crushing weight of the ocean.

"Don't think I don't understand your trick," Jerry's voice carried clearly through the water. "You're oppressing the sea by assimilating particles in the air, creating the illusion that you can rubberize everything."

"But the real ocean isn't affected by your fruit's awakening and assimilation abilities! It still restrains you just like any other Devil Fruit user!"

As if driven by invisible force, the massive tide receded rapidly, revealing Jerry's firm and powerful words floating through the air.

Both combatants had returned to their original human sizes. Jerry stood confidently on the sparkling sea surface, his left hand gripping Luffy's throat tightly. He used flowing water to form a solid prison that lifted his opponent into the air and held him suspended at eye level.

"Luffy" smiled with disturbing intensity and suddenly exploded with all his remaining strength. With a thunderous crack, he actually shattered the water prison and broke free from Jerry's grasp.

Amidst countless splashing droplets, his earth-shaking Conqueror's Haki swept outward like a supernatural storm.

In just an instant, he flashed forward to appear directly in front of Jerry. With the latter's expression shifting to apparent horror, Joy Boy launched a reality-shattering punch that seemed capable of tearing through the fabric of space itself.

"Liberation Sun God Fist!"

The deafening roar spread rapidly across the battlefield, carried by tremendous winds. Using his fist as the epicenter, a shocking semicircular trench was blasted across the ocean's surface, creating a scar that refused to heal for long minutes afterward.

Even the sky itself changed due to this devastating attack, with violent winds whipping through the atmosphere in chaotic patterns.

However, as the one who had thrown this ultimate punch, "Luffy" displayed an expression of genuine surprise. Jerry, who had appeared terrified mere moments before, had been reduced to countless tiny water droplets by the impact.

Then Joy Boy felt a bone-deep chill rising from the soles of his feet and racing straight to the top of his skull.

"God-Slaying Technique: Leviathan Lock!"

An furious roar resonated through the sky as Jerry appeared beside Luffy like a materializing phantom. A miniature Leviathan crackling with unparalleled Haki energy erupted from the fishing rod that he thrust forward with every ounce of his strength.

The rod's tip pierced directly into Luffy's side. His body instinctively tried to concave and rubberize to absorb the force and create distance, but Jerry's explosive Haki suddenly condensed above the miniature dragon's head.

Then a dragon's roar that shook the heavens themselves echoed across the battlefield. The serpentine figure flashed forward, instantly breaking through Luffy's combined defenses of advanced Haki and fruit abilities before invading his body without any resistance whatsoever.

"Luffy" screamed in agony and attempted to counterattack, but was shocked to discover that his body could no longer respond to his commands. Some foreign force was rampaging wildly through his internal systems, and excruciating pain spread throughout his entire form in an instant.

"Luffy's" eyes blazed with that unnatural red light as he stared at Jerry, who was walking calmly toward his paralyzed form.

"How is this possible? I am... the Sun God..." he roared with desperate fury, his voice becoming hoarse from the overwhelming pain coursing through him.

Jerry sneered with cold satisfaction. "God? As long as there's water in your body, I'll gladly kill gods for you to witness!"

"Not to mention that you're nothing but an ancient ghost who deceives himself, wallows in selfishness, and manipulates other people's bodies and minds for his own twisted purposes."

"Luffy" gnashed his teeth, rage burning in his eyes like wildfire. "I'm selfish and manipulate people's minds? Everything I do is to free this world from suffering! To create a better reality for everyone!"

"If you hadn't interfered with my plans, everything would have developed perfectly. When I arrived, the world would finally achieve true liberation! From that point forward, people would live lives filled with endless laughter, free from disputes and conflict!"

His expression was filled with manic intensity as he roared at the top of his lungs: "It's you! You're a dimensional stowaway who doesn't belong in this world, and you've destroyed everything I spent centuries planning!"

"Tsk, tsk, tsk! So small-minded, so incredibly narrow in your thinking!" Jerry wagged his finger with obvious amusement. "Create a beautiful world? Don't you understand such a simple truth—that as long as everyone gives a little love, the world will naturally become a beautiful place?"

He continued speaking with deliberate slowness: "This world belongs to all of us—every single person living in it. Creating a better reality is everyone's responsibility, not the burden of one self-appointed savior."

"You consistently place yourself in an elevated position, insisting that the entire world should revolve around your personal vision. You create those mysterious drumbeats that force people to laugh involuntarily, even when they have no reason for joy."

"Isn't that the very definition of manipulating people's hearts and minds? Have you ever bothered asking anyone whether they actually want to laugh before you doubt their emotional authenticity?"

"Should people be forced to laugh hysterically even at funerals? Even during their most profound moments of grief?"

After hearing Jerry's pointed criticism, Luffy continued staring at him with burning intensity. "You don't understand anything! Do you have any idea what happened 800 years ago—"

Before he could continue his historical justification, Jerry waved his hand dismissively and interrupted: "There's too much of a generation gap between us, and you're not being sincere at all in this conversation. There's nothing more to discuss here."

"Right now, all I know for certain is that you've illegally invaded someone else's body, and it's time to return what you've stolen."

Seeing Jerry's completely serious expression, "Luffy" showed obvious contempt in his glowing red eyes. "Hehe, if you think you have the courage, then come and make me give it back."

Jerry's grin widened with anticipation. "We'll see about that."

After delivering this promise, Jerry grabbed Luffy firmly by the scruff of his neck and glanced toward Reverse Mountain, which was vaguely visible in the distance. He decided to return along their original route back to the New World, where his crew would be waiting.

Due to Joy Boy's presence within Luffy's body, Jerry couldn't take his prisoner along when teleporting through water element manipulation—the ancient consciousness somehow interfered with his transportation abilities.

However, thanks to his currently incredible physical attributes enhanced by the Free Breakthrough system, Jerry's maximum movement speed while carrying cargo was still remarkably impressive.

As they began their journey back across the vast ocean, Jerry reflected on the philosophical divide between himself and the ancient liberation fighter. Where Joy Boy sought to impose happiness from above through supernatural compulsion, Jerry believed that genuine joy and freedom had to come from within people themselves—from their own choices, their own struggles, and their own communities working together.

The difference wasn't just tactical or strategic. It was fundamental to their entire worldview. Joy Boy saw himself as humanity's savior, destined to grant them liberation whether they wanted it or not. Jerry saw himself as someone who could remove obstacles and oppressors, but ultimately believed that people had to liberate themselves.

That philosophical gap might be unbridgeable, but Jerry was determined to free Luffy from this ancient parasite's control. Whatever it took, whatever the cost, his friend deserved the chance to make his own choices about the kind of liberation fighter he wanted to become.

The real Monkey D. Luffy would never force people to laugh against their will. The genuine Straw Hat captain understood that the best smiles came naturally, from hearts filled with authentic joy rather than supernatural compulsion.

Now Jerry just had to figure out how to perform the most delicate surgery imaginable—removing an 800-year-old consciousness from his friend's mind without destroying either personality in the process.
