As deputy warden, Hannibal certainly knew where the key to Zoro's cell was kept, but he would never reveal such sensitive information casually.
Therefore, after noticing the lustful gleam in the strange deputy warden's eyes, Carina immediately decided to take action.
In truth, Jerry didn't particularly care if they couldn't extract information from Hannibal—he had already given them subtle hints about alternative approaches.
The title of deputy warden sounded intimidating, but Hannibal's actual capabilities were quite mediocre.
Moreover, if their operation took too long, it would delay their plan to rescue Luffy.
Therefore, in an emergency situation, Carina, Nami, and Chopper were fully capable of easily subduing Hannibal and collecting all the keys from him and the guard room.
Carina and the others had agreed to this backup plan and decided to act flexibly based on timing and circumstances.
If they weren't trying to maintain a low profile and minimize unnecessary chaos, they wouldn't have needed to plan so extensively in the first place.
Jerry's group strolled casually through the corridors, turning their heads and looking around periodically.
"Where the hell did they lock up that green-haired troublemaker?" Sanji craned his neck but still couldn't spot Zoro anywhere.
"Yeah, he actually expects the great Captain Usopp to risk his life to save him... Let me see where he's hiding," Usopp muttered while running around frantically, constantly stirring up debris and peering into the corners of each cell.
Their actions naturally attracted the attention of prisoners in their cages.
The criminals trapped behind bars seemed particularly excited. Even though they weren't among the escapees, they could tell from various sounds that the prison break was still ongoing.
Maybe they would have a chance to escape next?
The prisoners grew more excited every time they thought about the possibility of leaving this living hell.
Therefore, when they saw Jerry and the others—who were obviously not prison guards or Impel Down staff—they couldn't help but call out desperately.
"Hey! You look like pirates too! Long-nose guy! Go find the key and open these cell doors!"
"You with the afro and skull face, what are you staring at? I'm talking to you! Think you can get away with playing dead?"
Usopp and Brook looked at each other in confusion before Usopp reached into his bag and threw out a small cloth pouch.
"Here's a reward for you!"
"What the hell? Chili powder?!"
"A-choo! Long-nose, I'll remember your face! A-choo!"
Usopp wasn't intimidated by the prisoners' threats. He placed his hands on his hips and wiggled teasingly to provoke them further.
A thunderous crash echoed from somewhere in the distance, immediately drawing everyone's attention both inside and outside the cells.
However, after the initial noise, the area fell silent again.
"Hey, isn't this one of Crocodile's subordinates from Baroque Works?" Sanji suddenly stopped in front of a cell door.
Hearing his observation, Jerry and the others turned to look as well.
They saw a large, mostly bald man in prison clothes sitting on the floor of his cell, looking up at them silently.
As Sanji had noted, this was indeed MR1—Daz Bones—from Crocodile's organization.
"Hey! Have you seen that green-haired guy? His name's Zoro—the one you fought before," Sanji called down to him, lowering his head slightly to ask about the situation.
After staring at Sanji for several seconds, MR1 finally responded, "Yeah, he's not far from here. His cell was over there."
"Wow! That's incredibly helpful, thank you!" Sanji turned to express his gratitude and was about to walk away.
But MR1 continued, "However, his cell was opened earlier by some big-headed guy with purple hair, and that swordsman escaped a long time ago."
Sanji paused as various thoughts flashed through his mind, and the corner of his mouth twitched involuntarily. "Well, thanks for the information anyway."
After saying this, he returned to Jerry and the others with a heavy sigh. "I don't know whether this news is good or bad, but knowing that moss-head's sense of direction, I'd rather he stayed locked up safely in his cell."
Usopp slapped his forehead in complete agreement.
Jerry fell into contemplation, wondering if the purple-haired, big-headed person was who he suspected.
Namely, Emporio Ivankov, the Revolutionary Army's Grand Line Army Commander and Queen of the Kamabaka Kingdom, known as the "Miracle Person."
If so, then the current chaos in Impel Down was probably also due to his—or her—contribution.
At this point, Brook suggested, "How about we check out where that explosion came from? Maybe he caused it? Although the odds are relatively low."
"Let's go. There's no point staying here anyway," Jerry shook his head, deciding not to overthink the situation, and began walking forward.
As soon as they rounded the corner, a woman wearing a tight pink leather jacket and holding a long whip, with bangs covering her eyes, blocked their path and began questioning them.
"Oh, I'm Leviathan Jerry from the Seven Warlords. I received orders from above to provide support here. You are..."
However, before Jerry could finish his explanation, Sanji could no longer contain himself. He stepped forward two paces, struck a pose, and interrupted, "Yes, yes, ma'am! I'm Sa—Cavendish! Please take care of me!"
The person confronting them was none other than Sadi, Impel Down's chief jailer—a dangerous individual who took pleasure in violence and torture.
Just looking at her outfit, one could imagine she wasn't exactly a pleasant person.
In fact, Sadi had strong sadistic tendencies and became excited whenever she heard victims screaming.
It was because Sanji intuitively sensed something was wrong, combined with the inappropriate time and place, that he barely managed to control his emotions and not lose his composure immediately.
Sadi narrowed her eyes slightly beneath her bangs and turned toward Jerry, a hint of suspicion in her tone. "Really?"
"Of course. Haven't you noticed there are fewer and fewer fugitives running around?" Jerry held his head high and spoke with unwavering confidence.
"CRASH!" A massive body slammed into the wall, creating a thunderous impact from behind Jerry's group.
"Get out of my way! Don't block my path! Why is this damn place so huge?" A wild green-haired figure flew past like a headless chicken.
"Clear the way, big brother! But big brother, don't run that direction!" A group of escaped prisoners followed in his wake, and they all disappeared around the corner in the blink of an eye.
Sadi turned her head when she heard the commotion, and the next second, she looked back and asked, "What did you just say about fewer fugitives?"
"Ahem! Those were criminals we hadn't encountered yet. Let's go chase them down!"
Jerry spun around and took a step forward, waving his hand as Sanji and the others immediately shot forward like arrows from a bow.
Sanji and Usopp naturally recognized the voice of that mosshead immediately.
Who else could it be but Zoro?
They just didn't understand how he had managed to become the leader of a group of followers during a prison break.
Seeing this development, Sadi lifted her foot to follow, but heard another deafening crash coming from the opposite direction.
She hesitated briefly before ultimately deciding to rush toward the latest source of noise.
After all, that seemed to be coming from the direction of the guard room, where a large number of important keys were stored.
"Hey! You idiotic green-haired guy up ahead! Stop running!" Sanji chased forward with long strides, shouting at the top of his lungs.
Although he was confident he could catch up to Zoro, if he let him run around freely, who knew where he might end up? He could easily slip into Level 5 or even Level 6 at any moment.
Sanji was secretly grateful that Zoro hadn't encountered any staircases during his extended run. Otherwise, there was no telling where they'd have to search for him.
The irony wasn't lost on anyone—even during a prison break, Zoro's legendary lack of direction remained his most defining characteristic.
