Ishtar, still kneeling on the ground, was shocked to hear those words leave Dorian's mouth.
Maria and the rest had the same expression, their gazes moving from the angered look on the messenger's face to the calm expression on Dorian's.
Behind the messenger, the maid stared at Dorian with an air of authority.
Every single minute that passed, it seemed like she was reading and judging everything he did.
The silence hung in the air for a while, until finally, the royal messenger uttered,
"Rest assured, the king will hear about this. If you think you won't be punished for your disrespect, you have another thing coming."
Dorian stared back at him. "Should I take this as you threatening me?" he asked back, showing not even a single hint of fear or guilt.
