Some time passed, and Mash explained the chaotic events and why he asked about those words.
"Forget those terms, Sensei," Hasumi said.
"Why?" Mash asked.
"No harm in not knowing. It's better that way," Hasumi insisted.
"Okay, I'll forget," Mash said.
"Please do. And fix the door," Hasumi added.
"Got it. Can I take those two?" Mash gestured to Hanako and Azusa.
"No way! They're dangerous criminals!" Koharu protested.
"Criminals?" Mash asked.
"The files explain everything," Hasumi said.
"Right, gotta check those," Mash said, reviewing the documents.
Hanako Urawa, 2nd Year, Trinity Academy
Caught wandering campus in a swimsuit, detained by the Justice Task Force, currently under confinement.
"Ugh… you didn't have to listen so seriously…" Hanako mumbled, face red, covering it with her hands. Hifumi comforted her.
"And the other one?" Mash asked.
"Could've taken more down if I had ammo," Azusa said.
"Taken down?" Mash echoed.
"Do what you want. I'm trained to resist torture. My lips are sealed," Azusa declared.
"Torture? I'm not doing that," Mash said.
"Sure," Azusa scoffed.
"No trust, huh," Mash noted, rummaging under his shirt.
Azusa continued, "You're no ordinary human, are you?"
"Kinda," Mash admitted.
"Doesn't matter. I'll survive, even if my nails are torn or skin burned—"
"Here, take this," Mash interrupted, offering a cream puff.
"Mmph…! Delicious… what is this?" Azusa asked, her gas mask somehow off. (When did he…)
"Cream puff. Calm down and eat," Mash said.
"It won't… munch munch… Can I have more?" Azusa asked, eyes sparkling.
"Sure," Mash handed her another.
"Wow…" Azusa beamed.
Azusa Shirasu, 2nd Year, Trinity Academy
Suspected of campus violence, pursued by the Justice Task Force. Occupied a tear gas ammo depot, detonated a ton of it, resisted for three hours, and was arrested after deploying booby traps and IEDs, causing numerous injuries.
"That's intense, but I've dealt with worse," Mash said.
"Worse?" Hifumi asked.
"Terrorists," Mash replied.
"Terrorists!?" Hifumi gasped.
"So good…" Azusa munched, oblivious.
Mash, unfazed, said, "I'll take them."
"But—" Koharu began.
"Koharu, Sensei's here on Tea Party's request via Schale. It's all above board," Hasumi said. "He's their advisor and homeroom teacher."
"Fine, if you say so, senpai…" Koharu grumbled.
"Hmph! Good riddance! I don't need to hang with criminals in this embarrassing club!" Koharu huffed. "Perfect match—villains and perverts! Add 'idiot' to the mix, and I'd die of shame!"
"Uh… actually…" Hifumi hesitated.
"There's four members," Mash said.
"Four!? Hahaha—wait, four?" Koharu froze.
"Hanako-chan, Hifumi-chan, Azusa-chan… and you, Koharu," Mash said.
Koharu Shimoe, 1st Year
Failed three tests in a row, facing retention. Cannot return to the Justice Task Force until grades improve.
"…What?" Koharu whispered.
"Let's do this, Koharu-chan," Hifumi said.
"No… no way…" Koharu stammered.
The Supplementary Lessons Club was complete, but the vibe was… chaotic.
"Hanako-chan… Hanako-chan…" Hanako muttered, still embarrassed.
"More, Sensei?" Azusa asked, eyes gleaming.
"No… no…" Koharu stood frozen, pale with despair.
"Never seen this before," Mash said, standing at the teacher's desk, unfazed.
"We're all here… Supplementary Lessons Club," Hifumi said nervously.
Hanako, recovering, smiled at everyone. "So, what's next, Leader Hifumi? Sensei? A group of delinquent girls and an adult in an empty classroom after hours… things could get wild."
"We're starting lessons," Mash said.
"Not that kind…" Hanako sighed.
"I could barricade this room for a month," Azusa said.
"I wanna die…" Koharu moaned.
"Um…" Hifumi faltered.
"Let's do introductions!" Hifumi suggested, drawing attention. "We're mostly strangers, right?"
"Reveal myself first?" Azusa asked.
"We're clubmates, so…" Hifumi said.
"Fair. Azusa Shirasu, second year. Nice to meet you," Azusa said.
"Hanako Urawa, second year. Pleasure," Hanako smiled.
"Koharu Shimoe, first year," Koharu muttered.
"Hifumi Ajitani, club leader… sort of," Hifumi said.
"Mash Burnedead, Schale's Sensei," Mash added.
As all eyes turned to Mash, he continued, "This is Mike, Kevin, Tom, Kim, Yamada, Koji, Satomi, Yukari—"
(Naming his muscles!?) Hifumi and Koharu thought.
"'Hi! I'm Kevin, nice to meet you!' Let's get along," Mash said, mimicking ventriloquism.
(Ventriloquism too!?) they thought.
"Got it, Kevin," Azusa said.
"Don't take it seriously!" Hifumi yelled.
"When'd you change!?" Koharu snapped. "Lewd stuff's a death penalty!"
"Such robust muscles," Hanako purred.
"When'd you change again?" Hifumi asked.
"What even is this club?" Koharu groaned.
"Tea Party asked Schale to form it to help struggling students avoid failing," Mash read from a script. "Basically, after-school tutoring."
"Oh…" Hanako said.
"Ugh…" Koharu sighed.
"Hm," Azusa nodded.
Hanako's smile seemed forced, Azusa was impassive, and Hifumi stepped in. "I was briefed too. Any questions?"
"I get it. Regular classes plus after-school training. I'm in—no reason to slack," Azusa said.
"Right! Let's do this!" Hifumi said. "Azusa-chan, you're new to Trinity, right? Past test struggles were probably just adjusting. We'll catch up together!"
"You transferred?" Hanako asked. "Rare for Trinity."
"Really?" Mash asked.
"Yeah, transfers are uncommon," Hifumi said. "Oh, did I say too much?"
"No big deal. It's true, and I'll adapt," Azusa said.
Hanako blinked, then smiled. "Can I call you Azusa-chan?"
"Sure. Names don't matter," Azusa said.
"Then Azusa-chan, Hifumi-chan, Koharu-chan, and… Mash-kun, since we're the same age?" Hanako asked.
"OK," Mash said.
"Thanks! We're clubmates now. Azusa-chan seems cold but kinda cute," Hanako giggled.
"?" Azusa tilted her head.
"Why the hateful glare, Koharu-chan?" Hanako asked.
"I don't accept this!" Koharu snapped. "No way!"
"Here, have a cream puff," Mash offered.
"No!" Koharu swatted it away, the puff falling.
WHOOSH! Mash caught it mid-air, shoving it in her mouth. "Close one."
(He caught it with a breath!?) Hifumi thought.
"N-No, I…" Koharu mumbled.
"It's fine, I'm not mad," Mash said, chewing.
"I'm a Justice Task Force elite! I won't call you seniors just 'cause I'm younger! And I don't accept you as Sensei!" Koharu glared.
Déjà vu, Mash thought.
"I'll quit this club fast! Don't get cozy!" Koharu said.
"No need for senior-junior stuff here," Hanako said. "No issue."
"I'm not used to that anyway," Azusa added. "We're here for mutual benefit, not fake friendship."
"A-Ah…" Hifumi stammered.
"This is bad," Mash muttered.
"Fine! And I only failed because I took second-year tests for a grade skip!" Koharu said.
"Grade skip? Why?" Hanako asked.
"I'm gonna lead the Justice Task Force someday!" Koharu declared.
"But you failed three times?" Hanako asked.
"Shut up! That's not the point!" Koharu yelled, stomping like a child. "I was hiding my true power!"
"True power?" Mash asked.
"Yes! I'll take first-year tests, ace them, and be done!" Koharu said.
"Uh…" Hifumi hesitated.
"Even if you ace it, you can't just leave," Hifumi said.
"My old school's curriculum differed, so I'm taking first-year tests too," Azusa said.
"We're the same—wait, no! It won't matter soon!" Koharu snapped. "You don't seem like my type anyway. Good luck!" She stormed out.
"A-Ah…" Hifumi slumped.
"Don't hate Koharu-chan," Hifumi said. "She's not—"
"I don't. I've seen this before," Mash said.
"Oh?" Hanako raised an eyebrow.
"Koharu-chan's gone, but let's start," Mash said. "Time's… uh, yuden?"
"Finite," Hifumi corrected.
"Right. Lead on, Leader," Mash said.
"Me!?" Hifumi squeaked.
"You're the leader," Azusa said.
"It'll be fun," Hanako added.
Hifumi stood, flustered. "Here goes… Supplementary Lessons Club, first session starts!"
Thus began Mash's journey with the club.
"Oh, forgot to mention—I'm bad at studying," Mash said.
"What!?" they gasped.
…Maybe it won't start.
Koharu's harsh, right? Think early Serika vibes. Lessons? Next time!
