In Mount Myoboku, the Great Toad Sage, Gamamaru, suddenly awoke from a prophetic dream. A man in white with silver hair had come to their sacred mountain, demanding their surrender. The toads had resisted, and the man had slaughtered them all with a single glance. The memory of that contemptuous gaze sent a chill through the old toad's heart. He had never seen such a terrifying person.
His prophetic dreams always came true. If he did nothing, Mount Myoboku would be finished. But he had not been able to see the man's face clearly in the dream, nor did he know when he would arrive. How could he stop it?
He recalled the details of the dream, searching for a clue. Suddenly, he remembered: after killing them, the man had turned, revealing a round fan on his robe, identical to the Uchiha clan's emblem. It had to be someone from the Uchiha clan.
The only Uchiha left were Sasuke and Kagami's family. Sasuke wasn't strong enough to wipe out all of Mount Myoboku in an instant. That left only one possibility: Kagami Uchiha.
The thought filled the Great Toad Sage with anger, mixed with a strong murderous intent. That ambitious man actually wanted to occupy their sacred mountain! But his anger soon gave way to silence. He had felt Kagami's terrifying strength in the dream, an existence even more powerful than Kaguya or the Sage of Six Paths. How could Mount Myoboku resist such an enemy? He fell into a deep sense of powerlessness.
Suddenly, he thought of someone he had known a thousand years ago. "Perhaps... I can seek help from Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki in the Pure Land," he mused. "Given our past acquaintance, he might help us." But he hesitated. "But... since that day, Hagoromo seems to have become a different person. Will he really help me?" Their relationship had grown distant over the centuries. "And even if he is willing, can he really defeat Kagami Uchiha?" He doubted it.
"No, I can't put all our hopes on Hagoromo. Maybe... I can only surrender to Kagami. At least we can still survive." He sighed helplessly. He had seen everything Kagami had done over the past year. As long as they were truly submissive, Kagami wouldn't make things difficult for a group of toads. He planned to have Jiraiya, who had been hiding out on Mount Myoboku since Tsunade had married Kagami, convey his intentions and plead for mercy.
"Fukasaku," he called out, "go call Jiraiya."
Fukasaku soon returned with Jiraiya. "Great Toad Sage, what do you want to talk to me about?" Jiraiya asked, confused.
"Jiraiya, I have something important to discuss," the Great Toad Sage said slowly.
"Are you having a prophetic dream again?" Fukasaku and Shima asked, their expressions serious.
"That's right." The Great Toad Sage nodded and told them of his dream. "Now we have only one way to survive: voluntarily choose to submit to Kagami."
"Is there no other way?" Fukasaku and Shima were resistant. Mount Myoboku was their sacred land. They were the sages of the ninja world. How could they bow to a human and hand over their home? Though the Great Toad Sage insisted Kagami was powerful, they had not experienced his strength firsthand and didn't believe he was truly that strong. They felt there must be another way.
