At the gates of the Knights of Favonius headquarters.
Bolto and Ato, two knights, stood at attention, their expressions serious.
As the "face" of the Knights of Favonius, they had to maintain a professional image.
At that moment, they spotted Jean walking toward them from the distance.
They quickly called out respectfully,
"Acting Grand Master!"
Though Jean was still quite young to be serving as Acting Grand Master, both men respected her greatly.
She was not only diligent in her duties but also deeply cared for the people.
No matter how small the trouble—be it chasing a cat or other trivial matters—if someone came to her for help, she would do her best to resolve it.
It had become almost a habit for Mondstadt citizens to go to Jean whenever they were in trouble.
"You've both worked hard," Jean said with a smile.
Hearing her acknowledgment, the two knights looked almost flattered.
"It's nothing—Acting Grand Master, you're the one working the hardest."
Jean smiled again, nodded, and walked into the headquarters.
"Did you notice that she seems to be in a very good mood today?"
Once Jean's back had disappeared, Bolto couldn't help but remark.
"Probably because the Stormterror crisis is finally over," Ato guessed.
After all, the whole city had been on edge for days, and the Knights of Favonius had been even busier.
From top to bottom, everyone had been working tirelessly—Jean most of all.
Thankfully, the matter had finally been resolved.
"Maybe… but I still feel like something's a bit off," Bolto said, frowning slightly.
It was a gut feeling he couldn't quite explain.
"Heh, what, you think the Acting Grand Master's in love or something?" Ato joked.
"That would break a lot of hearts in Mondstadt," Bolto chuckled.
After all, their Acting Grand Master had no shortage of admirers.
Inside the Knights of Favonius building, Jean went straight to the Grand Master's office.
When she pushed the door open, she found Lisa and Barbara huddled together at the desk, engrossed in something.
Even when she came in, they barely reacted.
"What are you looking at?" Jean asked, walking over to them.
"Oh? You're back, Jean?" Lisa blinked in mild surprise before smiling and pointing to a strange device on the desk.
"This thing is called a computer. It was my reward from earlier today. It's full of information about Digimon."
Indeed, the database inside was remarkably detailed—covering Baby, In-Training, Rookie, Champion, Ultimate, and Mega stages; elements like fire, water, light, darkness, wind, lightning, earth, and wood; and detailed descriptions of attributes, strengths, and weaknesses.
Lisa now had a far more complete understanding of Digimon.
"Yeah, and I even found information on Xiaoxue!" Barbara beamed, turning to pick up the small creature behind her.
"It's not called YukimiBotamon anymore—it's now Meowmon!"
"Meow!"
The little Digimon let out a cooperative cry, looking extra cute.
"I see…" Jean nodded in understanding.
As Acting Grand Master, she quickly realized the strategic importance of such information.
Sooner or later, people from Mondstadt would start visiting the manga shop.
That meant there was a high chance they would acquire Digimon partners.
With this database, they could accurately gauge their strength, understand attribute matchups, and plan accordingly.
With information came control—and with control, the advantage.
Just then, the computer screen suddenly dimmed, and a prompt appeared in the middle:
[Battery low. Please recharge soon.]
"This thing… needs electricity?" Jean asked curiously.
"Mm-hmm. Boss Han mentioned that earlier," Lisa replied, pointing at the little battery icon in the bottom-right corner.
"This shows how much power is left—and it's almost empty now."
Han Feng had demonstrated the basics of using the computer for her earlier.
Still, she hadn't expected the battery to drain so quickly.
"In that case, we should hurry and find Boss Han—if it runs out, we might not be able to use it," Barbara said worriedly.
"No need to panic, cutie. Let me try something first."
Lisa smiled, reassuring them both.
She had actually discussed this possibility with Han Feng before—whether she could charge it herself.
He'd told her she could try, but she had to be careful.
Too much power could damage the machine.
With that reassurance, Lisa was eager to give it a go.
If it failed, they could always ask Han Feng for help—or just read more manga to get another one.
Extending a slender finger, Lisa let a small spark of lightning flicker at her fingertip.
"Small enough… this should work," she thought, aiming it at the charging port.
She closed her eyes and carefully fed the current in.
Bzzt!
The computer lit up instantly.
All three women's eyes lit up as well.
Barbara quickly checked the battery icon—sure enough, it was now charging.
"Lisa, you're amazing!" she said with genuine admiration.
"Impressive as always," Jean agreed.
To grasp how to operate an otherworldly device so quickly—this was the capability of Mondstadt's Librarian.
Lisa waved it off with elegant modesty, though she was secretly pleased.
"If this works, that means… we could use Electro Slimes as a power source, couldn't we?" she mused aloud.
After all, manually charging it was exhausting.
If they could harness Electro Slimes, they could power any future devices as well.
But doing it alone would be troublesome and time-consuming—and that would cut into her precious naptime.
Better to find an assistant.
Hmm… Albedo might be perfect.
Lisa's eyes lit up at the thought.
As Mondstadt's Chief Alchemist, he'd definitely be interested.
While Lisa's mind wandered, Barbara turned to Jean with curiosity.
"Acting Grand Master, what reward did you get today? Was it the Eye of the Demon King?"
Her eyes shone with excitement—she still vividly remembered the golden light from earlier.
If Jean had acquired such a thing, it would be a great asset to the Knights.
Lisa also perked up, curious.
But Jean shot her a reproachful look.
"That 'Demon King's Eye' was just a contact lens with a gold iris. It has no special powers."
Lisa gave a dry cough and conceded, "Yes, cutie—that's true. Fischl's is just for show too; it only glows."
"What?! No way…" Barbara looked crushed.
So it was fake all along? Then what had she been so excited about all afternoon?
"In that case, what did you get?" Lisa pressed with interest.
"Nothing much—just… something ordinary."
Jean tried to sound calm, but there was a flicker of unease in her voice.
Lisa and Barbara exchanged a glance.
Not right.
Definitely hiding
