Chapter 44 - 44: New Manga — Cooking Master Boy, Snowballmon Evolves!

With excitement bubbling inside him, Han Feng gave the order: "System, draw two manga volumes."

[Commencing draw…]

[Draw Result: Cooking Master Boy]

Cooking Master Boy follows the young chef Liu Maoxing, who is sent to train at Yangquan Restaurant. As he works to earn his Special Grade Chef certification, he meets like-minded friends and ultimately faces off against the Dark Cooking Society.

"It's this one, huh?"

A wave of nostalgia washed over Han Feng.

Cooking Master Boy was a childhood classic.

Along with Little Prince Moukoko and Food Wars, it stood among the legendary cooking anime.

He couldn't remember every plot detail, but the glowing fried rice scene…

That, he remembered vividly.

Especially the moment when the dish cover was lifted—

Boom.

Radiant light, soaring music.

Truly iconic.

Still, one thing gave Han Feng pause.

The cuisine in Cooking Master Boy had a very Liyue vibe.

If his manga shop were located in Liyue, this manga would probably be a smash hit.

But in Mondstadt, where roasted meats were the norm?

He worried it might not click with the local crowd.

But then again—

Good food knows no borders.

True culinary artistry would win over any gourmand, no matter where they were from.

Han Feng believed that Cooking Master Boy absolutely deserved a place in his store.

Just thinking about the food from that manga made his stomach grumble.

"So it's already noon, huh?"

Glancing at the time, Han Feng finally realized how long he'd been at it.

There had been so many customers today that he'd completely lost track of time.

"Well then, time to grab something to eat!"

Saying that, Han Feng headed upstairs to prepare lunch.

Outside Mondstadt, Whispering Woods

After parting ways with Lisa, Barbara had finally arrived at her destination.

"Mm… The air really is much fresher out here."

Spreading her arms wide, Barbara closed her eyes and let the scent of nature wash over her.

She rarely had moments like this.

"Chirp chirp!"

Perched on her shoulder, Snowball let out a couple of cheerful chirps.

It clearly enjoyed the fresh forest air as well.

"If you like it, I'll bring you here more often,"

Barbara said with a smile as she gently patted Snowball's soft head.

Before, she didn't have the strength to venture into the wilderness alone.

But ever since she gained the power of the Frozen Fruit, she finally had the confidence to do so.

She didn't expect to become some legendary powerhouse like the shopkeeper described—

As long as she could protect herself near Mondstadt, that was enough.

"Chirp chirp!"

Snowball squeaked happily.

"Come on, let's find some wildflowers and herbs."

Barbara grew excited.

She hadn't forgotten her true reason for coming out today.

It was to collect wildflowers and fruits for Snowball,

so it could evolve as soon as possible.

That was what Boss Han had told her.

In Barbara's heart, Boss Han was someone truly incredible.

Not only could his manga grant people rewards, but he himself was also ridiculously powerful.

So Barbara trusted him wholeheartedly.

If he said something, she believed it without question.

"Chirp chirp!"

Snowball was just as enthusiastic.

It also wanted to evolve quickly—

So it could become strong enough to help its master.

The Whispering Woods were home to a wide variety of plants.

The most abundant among them were Dandelion Seeds and Small Lamp Grass.

Before long, Barbara had gathered quite a bit.

"Here, let's see if this tastes good."

She gently placed Snowball on the ground and began feeding it.

"Chirp chirp!"

Snowball didn't hesitate, taking dainty bites of the plants.

Judging by the twinkle in its eyes, it clearly liked the flavor.

"So cute!"

Barbara was nearly overwhelmed by how adorable it looked while eating.

She couldn't resist giving it a couple more affectionate head pats.

Snowball didn't resist at all—

It happily munched away while enjoying the relaxing head massage.

Though Snowball was small, its appetite was enormous.

In no time at all, it had devoured all the flowers and fruits Barbara had gathered.

Still, there were no signs of evolution.

"How are you feeling, Snowball?"

Barbara asked with concern.

"Chirp chirp!"

"…You're saying you need a bit more?"

Barbara paused, thinking over its response.

"Chirp chirp!"

Snowball bounced twice in confirmation.

"All right, I got it!"

Barbara chuckled and patted its little head again.

Didn't think you'd be such a little foodie.

She resumed picking more plants in the nearby area.

Before long, she had collected another large batch.

And this time—after Snowball finished eating, something finally changed.

A blinding white light suddenly engulfed its small body.

"This must be the evolution Boss Han mentioned!"

Barbara didn't interfere and simply watched with anticipation.

Moments later, the light dissipated.

A small, yellow, cat-like Digimon stood before her.
