Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: The Witch’s Seal

☆ ★ ✮ ★ ☆

The sun beamed overhead, sand shifting in the everpresent beige of the Augria Sand Dunes. However, there was a new feeling in the air— a sensation that seemed to spread for miles upon miles.

There was a deep rumbling, nearby mabeasts looking around in alarm as the very earth seemed to shift.

The sand parted, and then,

—rising upon a small hill of sand, was a delicate flower.

It was vibrant, a deep red sticking out like a blaring sign amongst the deep, dry desert. It wasn't alone, however. Seconds later, there was another budding flower, and then another, and another, and so on.

The green bloomed like a cascade, sweeping outward in several wide arcs around and beyond the Pleiades Watchtower. The nearby mabeasts—alarmed, were quickly deterred as several obelisks of white erupted in a circular pattern around the tower, glowing gemstones of mana driving them away for miles.

The transformation continued, structures rising from the dunes, roads and buildings forming atop the now green hills of Augria.

—After the completion of the Pleiades Watchtower's trials, administrative control had been granted, and since that administrative control had been reclaimed by the Sage, the Watchtower's dormant systems were active once more.

10 Spires, shorter, but no less equal, surged upward, resting at 3/4 the length of the Pleiades Watchtower. Those gleaming gemstones atop them brightened, and soon, a large-scale surge in mana took place, forming an invisible protective barrier several kilometers in radius, forever protecting the Pleiades Watchtower from unwanted visitors and threats.

—And thus, the Pleiades Watchtower was reborn anew.

☆ ★ ✮ ★ ☆

The transformation was indeed immense, and Subaru would've admired and looked around as much as he could, but excitement could wait. He came here for a reason, and he wouldn't rest until he finished his mission.

Now traveling through the air, his face was that of deep conviction. He knew what he had to do. He wouldn't stop here— everything that led up to this point would be worthless otherwise.

His two companions, Capella and Shaula, followed closely behind. The former had her Archetype restored, keeping pace with his immense speed with her black wings. As for Shaula, she had her mind and body altered to match a version of her in another timeline— who could use flight magic.

With the problem of transport taken care of, Subaru had his hands empty to focus on what lay ahead.

The Witch's Seal was located just several kilometers away from the Great Waterfall. A dark blotch in the atmosphere, courtesy of Envy's miasma, hung in the air, getting thicker and thicker the closer they came. In fact, it was even worse than it had been in the dunes.

Subaru had a protective barrier over the others. If it weren't for that, they'd have gone insane in seconds, their minds and bodies overflowing with corrupt mana.

Soon enough, the sky became so black it appeared as if they were deep in a severe thunderstorm, turbulent winds carrying corrupted miasma so thick they crystallized into shards of glass.

All of it bounced harmlessly off their spatial shields.

"Alright, that should be it," Subaru said with a smile as the turbulent winds seemed to slow. They entered the eye of the storm, or, the miasma storm, and jutting from the middle was a large black monolith.

Of course, that wasn't the entrance of the Witch's Seal, it was merely the metia created by Flugel— or should he say, himself, to anchor Satella's position in space, a nigh-immovable object that trapped copious amounts of her mana in an effort to contain her absurd magical power, which strengthened the metia in turn, and thus, the seal.

Evidently, it wasn't working all that well, as large amounts of the miasma were clearly leaking and corroding everything within several kilometers.

Nonetheless, in truth, the true entrance lies below the dunes themselves.

Subaru used Dimension-Layer Peeking, seeing the large winding corridor leading to the entrance of the Witch's Seal.

"—You two stay back. I'll confront her," Subaru said with a resolute tone.

Shaula and Capella nodded, albeit still a little unnerved by the prospect of freeing what was the most dangerous entity in history.

Without a second glance, Subaru teleported, and his eyes didn't even need to adjust at the rapid change in scenery as he showed up within the corridor.

It was spacious, and there were magic sigils and glowing stones embedded in the walls, leading right up to a large door, with seven distinct gems embedded in them.

Subaru, already having reviewed this scenario with Sage Sovereignty numerous times, knew the true extent of this place in and out.

He placed his palm upon the door, and suddenly, the gemstones brightened. There was a large click, the sounds of several inner mechanisms unwinding, before the door slid into the walls, granting him access.

"So it's true, only the person who wields seven witch factors can enter", Subaru told himself.

Like the Pleiades Watchtower, the Witch's Seal was both built and owned by him, and thus, he possessed the true master key to everything he had ever brought into this world.

A large torrent of built up miasma flowed past him, a dose that would've liquified any living creature instantly. It bounced off harmlessly against his spatial shields.

What followed was,

"I love you I love you I love you I love you I love you I love you I love you I love you I love you I love you I love you I love you I love you I love you I love you I love you I love you I love you I love you I love you I love you I love you—"

The Witch of Envy, the dreaded bane on this world, surged forward in a fitless, insane motion— pure black reaching towards him with hundreds of clammy, black hands.

Several black constructs of yin converged upon him, but like the miasma that came before, the hands bounced off harmlessly, unable to hold, grab, or grip.

"—?"

The Witch of Envy, the living catastrophe, froze. The hands detracted for a bit in confusion, reaching out again to feel, but instead meeting a harsh barrier of pure space.

This shouldn't have been possible. Satella was of the Yin Affinity, and thus possessed control over Time and Space. However, even her supreme use of the affinity was utterly useless against Subaru's Mandate of Heaven.

Even for a magic user like her, authorities were unyielding. His power was just that much more potent.

"Sorry to break the mood. You've been waiting for me for an awfully long time, huh?" Subaru said with a snarky tone, meeting the Witch of Envy's dark pools for eyes.

The Witch of Envy didn't respond, only attempting to hold him again, but her hands bounced off, dissipating from the force.

"…I love you."

"Oh? Well you see, you can't put a hand on me. That stuff really makes me feel all jittery and weird when you do, bleughh. Had to shut that down before I came here," Subaru said, mockingly flinching at the memory when she grabbed his heart all those times in the past.

"…"

"You're a real pain in the ass, y'know? I've been put in a lot of deep shit lately, and while I don't like to die, If I'm going to die, at least I better rewind at a better starting point."

In fact, Subaru was genuinely angry. He had been forced to undergo so much torment simply due to the fact that Satella had thrown him the short end of the stick. Shortening his checkpoints— setting one right after he had been imprisoned as the accused Sin Archbishop.

He had to watch for months as all his friends abandoned him— seeing him as an enemy. All those precious relationships down the drain, all due to a checkpoint that was reversible, if it had not been for the Witch of Envy's idleness.

If it had not been for that, Subaru would not be standing here. He might've been laughing with the others— playing with Beatrice— going on a date with Emilia— hanging with Garfiel and Otto. All of it: gone.

All the misery he suffered up till now wouldn't have even occurred.

But even then, his suffering hadn't been for nought. Subaru was stronger, smarter, lighter than he had ever been in years. The pain and suffering he endured had been washed away with his rebirth, and now, he felt nothing more than the urge to move on.

—Subaru, for the first time in his life, wanted to be selfish.

He wanted to eat and drink to his heart's content— love unabashedly— party until he collapsed. Every little want he had put aside for others resurfaced, and now Subaru wanted to do nothing more than be selfish.

It was his life. He had suffered enough. Now, he'd use his newfound power to create his own paradise. Anyone who got in the way of that would be crushed. He no longer cared.

The others? Subaru couldn't even muster the energy to hate them. He knew it was all a big mistake— that they were just scared and confused. He'd forgive them, but he didn't want to go back. He wouldn't.

If they came back crying, he'd calm their hearts and send them away. There was no point in revenge. Starting from today, he'd turn over a new leaf.

All that was left was for him to take care of the first cause of his suffering.

"—But in the end, all you cared about was yourself. Huh? When I suffered and died pathetically dozens of times, you were alright with that, because in the end, I was still breathing— still yours, huh?"

"…"

"Hell, you were probably delighted when everyone forgot about me. When the chance to rid them out of my life emerged, you took it, didn't you? Sick fuck."

"…" Envy stopped, mouth opening and closing. "I love you I love you I love you I love you I love you…"

"Ah, that's right. Me, me, me! All you care about is yourself!" Subaru chuckled, resigned.

Why was he even talking to her in the first place? The Witch of Envy was nothing more than an instinct made manifest. It was the equivalent to talking to a brick wall.

Subaru's hands fell, breath loosening as he prepared to end this. One index finger was lifted towards envy, who was still rambling in her typical lovesick tune. Subaru smiled, and said:

"Envy, I'm filing a divorce."

Those simple words, said with utter mirth, caused Envy to recoil momentarily, shadows writhing before surging forward at a pace that shredded the air itself, headed directly towards him.

"LOVE ME LOVE ME LOVE ME LOVE ME LOVE ME LOVE ME LOVE ME LOVE ME LOVE ME LOVE ME LOVE ME LOVE ME LOVE ME LOVE ME LOVE ME LOVE ME LOVE ME LOVE ME LOVE ME LOVE ME LOVE ME LOVE ME LOVE ME LOVE ME LOVE ME LOVE ME LOVE ME LOVE ME LOVE ME LOVE ME LOVE ME LOVE ME LOVE ME LOVE ME LOVE ME LOVE ME"

Subaru, standing, plugged his ears in mock annoyance.

"Damn, you're even more annoying up close. Anyway."

Subaru's eyes met hers:

"Absolute Dominion. kill the Witch of Envy."

The Witch of Envy, who attempted to reach out, stilled, shadows freezing as if frozen in time. For a second, there was no sound—so quiet one could hear a pin drop.

Then suddenly, the Witch of Envy's form started to disperse slowly, the cloying thick miasma retreating, shadows fading into nothingness. Subaru watched as the Witch of Envy was destroyed, her very existence unraveling under his reality warping.

Since the Witch of Envy wasn't technically classified as a living thing— a mere extension of Satella's being, Subaru used Augur instead of Absolute Oblivion. The effects were immediate. The Witch of Envy had fully faded away. Her miasma, a corruptive force that was a bane for all things living, receded. Outside, the Miasma Storm stilled, slowly fading away.

Subaru breathed out, stepping forward. This wasn't the end whatsoever. The Witch of Envy was a mere symptom of the real problem.

The problem lay in the witch factor itself. It was unstable, and had been the exact reason she lost control and destroyed half the world in the first place. If he weren't quick, the witch factor might act up again and birth a new Witch of Envy.

To avoid that, Subaru planned to cut off the problem from the source.

In front of him, sat the seal itself. It was a large purple crystal, embedded on top of an altar, and within that altar, laid the frozen form of Satella herself, an expression of sleep washed over her.

Subaru momentarily froze. He scanned her features, noting the similarities to Emilia herself. It was practically 1-to-1, with the only difference being the choice of clothing Satella chose to wear.

On second thought, isn't that the literal color scheme of my tracksuit? She really is in love, huh?

In fact, he noticed the same thing with Shaula. Either it was a weird coincidence or his older self had instilled a deep obsession within the others.

Nonetheless, he shook his head and placed his hand on the crystal. Since he had been the one to create it, the crystal obeyed his mental command and faded, revealing Satella's rested form.

He knelt down, grabbing her head to give her a better cushioning that wasn't provided by the altar's surface. Sooner or later, she stirred, pale eyelids opening— accompanied by a gasp.

"Huh, where—" Satella, briefly confused, analyzed her surroundings quickly as her body shook, getting used to the feeling of moving after lying in stasis for hundreds of years. Then, her eyes met Subaru's.

"S-Subaru? My love…?" she said in disbelief, eyes watering.

"Yup, the one and only," Subaru smirked, and it didn't take long for Satella to practically jump from her spot and envelop him in a hug— tears flowing freely.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry! I dragged you away from your home and stood idle as you were slain, time and time again! I'm a heartless bitch! I'm a stupid, inconsiderate, monster!"

"Woah, woah, woah! Calm down!" Subaru urged, rubbing her head even as she wetted his outfit with her tears. She didn't stop, shaking like a leaf as she held on to him for dear life.

Satella's emotions crashed into him like a tidal wave. 400 years of surprised guilt and sadness burst from within. She was now face to face with the victim of her own failure, and all she could do was plead for forgiveness.

"—I'm, I'm," she stuttered, words devolving into gibberish and broken sobs. Her hands, clutching on the hems of his sleeves, slackened considerably.

Subaru cupped her cheek, bringing her face to face.

"Hey, calm down. I'm here, right? It's fine, you don't need to apologize for anything."

Satella's eyes widened, her head shaking frantically.

"But— how could you—!? I caused you to suffer! It's all my fault! I watched you die again and again and did nothing! When you were trapped in that cell, my-my other half, she-!"

"—Yeah, yeah," Subaru cut her off, "I admit it. A part of me was angry at you, betrayed even. But I'm over it now. I'm too tired to feel otherwise."

Subaru truly had no resistance left inside of him. The prospects of his previous loops were a memory he had no intention of revisiting. He had sworn that he wouldn't use Return by Death unless he absolutely needed to. He was far too strong to rely on it now.

With his new abilities, he could pave a new path for himself. The weak, helpless Natsuki Subaru was a thing of the past.

Satella looked at him, really looked at him. Those eyes holding deep conviction also hid a deep tiredness.

It's my fault, she thought to herself. Because of her, Subaru's mind had been broken over and over. Even if he had yet to give up, a big part of him had changed permanently.

She sniffled, wiping her tears as she finally managed to calm herself down— albeit, enough to speak clearly.

"I know I've said this many times, but I'm truly sorry, I really am. I don't deserve you one bit."

"Hey, I could say the same! A pretty girl like you is way out of my league! I wake up everyday surprised to know that someone that loves me is not only my type, but also this world's equivalent of the devil!" Subaru said with a chuckle.

"…" Satella faced away, cheeks going crimson. She shook her head, as if to banish her surfacing feelings.

"Not at all! You're kind, considerate, and only think of others! To a worrying degree, however. Do you know how many times I've cried when you died!?"

Satella pouted, worrying anger surfacing as she lightly pounded at his chest with her fists— anger, worry, and love mixed together.

"Eh? Alright, alright! I'm sorry! Won't die again, I think?"

Subaru scratched his head, deeply embarrassed and ashamed. He cursed his older self, too weak and stupid— dying over and over, not knowing he was leaving others behind— those that cared for him. He was glad he had that hammered out of him by Otto.

With the warmth of their reunion intensifying, Satella finally decided to look around, a hand going to her chest in confusion.

"M-My other half, she's… strangely quiet."

The Witch of Envy was a constant force that had haunted her for 400 years, relentlessly causing her needless pain and suffering. For it to be quiet, was both a relief and a sign that sent alarms ringing in her head.

"Gone," Subaru made a popping motion with his hand, "killed her. She won't come back, unless your authority goes haywire again, but I already have a solution for that."

"Wait, how did you—? You collected every witch factor?"

"Yup! It's a long story. But in that cell, something changed within me. All I know now is that I've become powerful enough to do things my way, and the first thing I did was head here."

With his explanation, Satella nodded, satisfied that her lover was finally powerful enough to defend himself without the use of Return by Death. However, she was a bit confused on how he went about killing her other half— the most deadly entity in the world. She'd have to ask for an explanation later.

Satella's eyes fell down to her chest, fingers clutching the cloth resting above her heart.

"It's still inside me. The witch factor. Before long, I'll lose myself and go on a rampage once more."

Her heart dropped. The reason she had summoned Subaru in the first place was in the hopes of killing her and ending her other half's terror upon the world. However, Subaru had no intention of killing her whatsoever.

"Don't worry, I already have it handled. But you'll have to trust me."

"I trust you more than anything else in this world," Satella said unflinchingly, and Subaru could feel sweat bead on his forehead in nervous surprise. He had forgotten that while Satella wasn't the Witch of Envy itself, the Witch of Envy was still a personification of Satella's boundless love. In this instance, her love was less obsessive and destructive, however, its depths were still just as deep.

Subaru held her, before channeling Soul Eclipse. Satella's body went limp in his arms as her literal soul was ejected from her body. Not quickly— he didn't want to cause her pain, but gently.

Subaru could literally see her Od itself, an ethereal ball of light pulsing with untold amounts of mana. However, that wasn't where his true focus was set. Instead, it was on the invasive force attached to it.

It was a bubbling mass of pure black— sticking and enveloping her soul like a tumor, corrupting her Od, and hence, her very being. Due to the incapability Satella had with Envy, the witch factor was unstable, corrupting her mind. She had gotten lucky— her manifested authority splitting her consciousness, and her original self managed to maintain her sanity. However, it came at a great price.

Her Authority, now beholden to her counterpart, rampaged, and thus led to the destruction of half the world.

If Subaru left her be, no doubt would her witch factor act up, and ruin would spread upon the world once more. He would eliminate this possibility altogether.

His hand reached out, grabbing the witch factor before slowly removing it from Satella's soul, tendrils of metaphysical black ripping away. Satella soul— pulsing and throbbing, finally calmed for once in 400 years.

Subaru let out a breath of relief, before setting his eyes on the witch factor in his palm.

It was now without a new master. Its tendrils wrapped around him, as if sensing its split part, along with the others.

"Ugh, how do I do this? Uhh, here you go?"

Not knowing how to literally force a witch factor inside of him, Subaru just pressed the witch factor against his chest. It didn't take long for it to fade away, attaching to his soul like the rest.

With that, Subaru was now fully in possession of all 7 witch factors.

—And that's when Subaru felt it.

That sudden, strange feeling enveloped him once more. However, unlike last time, he didn't feel tense, but instead a sense of rejuvenation, as if his body were literally purifying itself.

He closed his eyes, and when he opened them, he wasn't face to face with the room Satella was sealed in, but instead an abyss.

He looked around, realizing he was floating alone. His clothes billowed under nonexistent winds, and he let out a breath, that small noise echoing before fading.

He looked around. Before him were mirrors, but not just any mirrors— mirrors into worlds— realities, spanning infinitely in every direction.

He floated to one, the abyss obeying his command and pulling him forward. He peered within, seeing a reality that was similar, yet different in some ways.

A reality where he was never summoned— the four kingdoms in ruin.

Another, Od Laguna 300 years in the future, entering its space-faring age.

Another, a ridiculously small change where he had decided to wear white instead of black.

His head went close, and like water, the mirror rippled as he phased through, his head sticking out a floating, iridescent glass-portal that led to another random reality. It was a dense forest in some alternate version of Od Laguna where trees were naturally blue.

Subaru phased back, floating idly as he tried to comprehend what he just did.

He stood there, silent.

And then, a grin stretched over his face.

Subaru's Authorities: an updated dossier.

[Return by Death] — Upon dying, Subaru will be sent back to a predetermined point in time. His abilities — physical, mental, and spiritual, will double exponentially with each death. Other Authorities are also doubled in strength and potency. This ability also allows the user to resurrect without going back in time, resurrecting at any location they have previously been. However, their physical body will always revert to the form they had when they first gained this ability.

[Live Mindful of Death] — Upon dying, the user can make changes to the timeline, altering fate and other events — past, present, and future. This ability also allows one to take on the Physical and Mental traits of their counterpart — allowing them to shift and gain abilities of their alternate. The user can use this on other people or objects.

[Sage Sovereignty] — Subaru is capable of peering into timelines within the infinite multiverse — watching events in the past, present, and future. However, he can only see things from his own perspective. He can bypass this by targeting his ability through any person or object — viewing the timelines through them.

Subaru is also capable of opening portals into other alternate timelines, traveling freely between worlds.

[Absolute Oblivion] — this ability allows the user to control the fundamental forces of life and death. The user is capable of instant-killing anyone, as long as they can perceive them. This ability bypasses defenses — eradicating everything down to the soul should the user wish. The user can also resurrect anyone — reviving them to their prime and removing all ailments.

While simple on the surface, this ability allows the user to kill "anything", even down to a conceptual level. For example, they can kill someone's magic, pretty much permanently severing them from casting anything. They can kill individual body parts and even intangible things such as sound and scent. Even other Divine Protections and Authorities could be nullified, however, Authority-Negation is a specific perk that only the Sage — Subaru, can wield.

[Augur] — This ability allows Subaru control over the fundamental force of time, allowing him to stop, reverse, and accelerate time upon determined existences.

This ability has another technique called "Echoing". The user can create a "snapshot" of any person or thing, that snapshot now being capable of being manipulated. Whatever happens to that snapshot happens to the original.

Another Technique is called "Save and Load" allowing Subaru to mentally place checkpoints at any point in time, allowing him to Load and return to that point in time.

[Void Construct] — Allows the user to summon matte black constructs of pure void — taking the size and shape of anything the user imagines. These constructs can also bear anti-magic, anti-matter, and anti-life properties — making them extremely corrosive if the user wished to.

[Mandate of Heaven] — The user is capable of manipulating Space. They can distort, teleport, and phase anything they desire.

[Sum of All Things] — This ability allows the user to copy any skill, power, or ability, amplifying it by five times and integrating it into the user. These copied abilities can be edited and merged with other abilities — granting new ones. These abilities can also be distributed to others. The user can consciously remove distributed copies as well.

[All Reason]— Allows Subaru to appraise anything he sees, gaining detailed information on anyone or anything, down to the very atoms that make up the target. If it's an object, he can appraise and know how to recreate it step by step. If it's a person, he can know everything about them, down to their skills, relationships, and history.

[1000 Faces] — This ability allows Subaru to assign himself or a target an "Archetype", transforming physically, mentally, and spiritually to embody that Archetypal peak — gaining all the knowledge, skills, and powers that come with that Archetype. He can assign up to 3 Archetypes on a target at a time.

Assigning to other individuals requires physical contact, however, removing it doesn't need physical contact.

[Benedictions] — Akin to Od Laguna and its ability to bestow divine protections, the user has the ability to bestow power within an individual. The amount of Benedictions a person can possess depends on how "unloved" they are by the world. Benedictions can be applied through skin contact, and taken without.

[Blight and Blessing] — the user can summon a black hole on any palm he desires. Anything that registers as an attack by the user is fully absorbed by the black hole, being stored in an infinite pocket dimension, within temporal stasis. The attack can be absorbed and converted to energy, or dispersed into nothing.

The user can summon a white hole on the desired palm. Any attack stored can be used and redirected with several times the original force.

This ability also allows one to absorb matter itself — even up to air and light, and convert that matter into energy for the user or others, such as mana, ki, aura, psychic energy, or more. Absorbed matter is destroyed and absorbed near-instantly.

[Shadow Revenant] — This ability allows the user to copy and create a shadow variant of any individual they perceive, storing a shadow clone of that person in a pocket dimension that is completely and utterly loyal to the user. The Shadow clone is two times stronger than the original, boasting other abilities such as teleportation via shadow, phasing through matter, and hyper-regeneration.

Shadows made from dead individuals personally killed by the user are more amplified in strength compared to regular shadows. Shadows have semi-sentience, possessing heightened battle IQ and logical thinking, meaning they're incredibly efficient when it comes to completing the user's tasks.

[Genesis] — This ability allows the user to create life — trading energy like mana or matter to create life forms of the user's desire. All life forms can be optionally given a soul or remain a flesh-vessel for other means. The strength of the life form is proportionate to the mana/energy given to create the life form.

[Soul Eclipse] — The user has complete dominion over the manipulation of souls and life force. The user can completely destroy, alter, or rejuvenate a target's soul — even choosing to strip them of their vitality or claim direct ownership of their existence. They can even place souls in other bodies, or other vessels such as inanimate objects. The user can even merge multiple souls together.

Claimed souls allow the user clairvoyance. Users can even distribute damage, stamina, and other bodily sensations across different souls. Users can manipulate memories and personalities by tapping into a soul's very essence. The user can also summon claimed souls to them, manifesting themselves wherever and whenever.

[Absolute Dominion] — Allows the user to warp reality, but only under the clause that they can only warp a specific target at a time, eliminating the possibility of long-range reality warping.

Any target assigned can be reality-warped, such as transforming an object or person or removing their existence entirely. It's reality warping — the possibilities are endless.

After the claiming of all 7 witch factors, Absolute Dominion now allows Subaru the ability to create a large field, where everything within the radius is subject to reality-warping.

[Omni-Control] — Allows the user to manipulate minds on an intricate and complex scale. Anyone the user effects can have their mind manipulated with extreme clarity. Anyone can be subjugated, optionally forced to obey their commands forever, or secretly having them do things while making them think they have free will.

The user can completely rewrite personalities, and even have complete control of a target's body down to a cellular level.

[Authority Lore]- Authorities are Absolute Powers — far surpassing and trumping over other powers such as Magic. There is no magic or divine protection that can overrule and subjugate an authority in pure potency.

Each Authority manifests from something called a Witch Factor. The Witch Factor is the source, a metaphysical black mass that hooks onto a viable host's soul and existence. There are 7 witch factors in total in each universe. Witch Factors are like keys. Once the door has been opened, the wielder has the full ability to to change reality as they see fit.

Subaru is the true master of the Witch Factors across the Multiverse, including his alternate versions, so he's pretty much given ownership of all Witch Factors by birthright as the Great Sage.

Subaru's Authorities manifest stronger than other wielders, a testament to his title as both Sage Candidate, and Great Sage.

As a Sage Candidate (a rare title), Subaru is capable of wielding a Witch Factor without going insane, and he's able to hold more than one unlike others. His status as Great Sage is a testament to that.

His Return by Death, which makes him exponentially stronger with each death, is powerful enough to strengthen even his Authorities, so the Authorities don't have a set limit in power and potency.

[Copied Abilities]— This is a list of all abilities he has copied using Sum of All Things. Like such, these copied abilities are stronger than their original counterparts.

[Transformation and Transfiguration]— Copied from Capella Emeralda Lugunica, this ability allows the user to manipulate the physical/biological form of both themselves and others upon physical contact. i.e shapeshifting. Due to the Authority: Sum of All Things, the ability now allows one to manipulate the matter of inanimate objects.

(A/N): Yeah he's pretty much a god now lol.
