Chapter 1 - A Whole New World

Super man.

That is what everyone thinks of him.

No, not that Superman.

He is a super human-- super strength, super speed, unending stamina, among other things. Everything about him is super.

But most of all... he is a hero.

With humans being weak, unable to possess this power that he yields, Apollo became a hero who saves them from danger. Especially from other humans who had no other task in life but to bring harm.

Evil geniuses with insane tech, mostly.

But to be recognized as a hero was a rough path. Apollo was shunned by the government, afraid of him. But the people... oh, the people loved him. Coming to an agreement to only help as necessary and to never go against the government, Apollo had no choice but to concede. After all, his life was on the line.

And who else was going to save the people from harm?

The sun was up and shining in Bristol City. Usually, it would have been a peaceful day. But today, someone wanted to wreak havoc on the city and its citizens.

A man laughed maniacally, wearing a bulletproof vest strapped on him as he sat inside a mechanical spider, its legs raised with guns attached to its ends, pointing at the running citizens.

He pulled the trigger, bullets releasing as it shot and grazed people. Their screams became louder as they watched the others who ran with them drop dead in front of them.

The man's smile grew wilder and wider as he continued to shoot people, watching their blood pool onto the streets as it splattered on everyone that surrounded it.

As the guns reload, the man was about to press the button when he felt an impact on his mechanical spider. The machine flung into one of the buildings, slamming into it. The windows and parts of his machine broke, wires exposed, and a few electrical wires were buzzing.

"Time's up, Hunter." A man in a cape and a tight black suit that covered him from neck to toe was in front of him, floating as he extended his arm to him, his hand open as if to shoot.

"Ah, Apollo." A sinister smile appeared on Hunter's lips, replacing his maniacal smile from earlier. "You're here already after the damage was done? Tsk, tsk, what would they say about that?" He laughed.

Apollo's eyebrows furrowed as he quickly swooped to him, his hand on his neck, squeezing it tighter. "You won't get away with this."

Hunter coughed as he struggled to breathe. "Oh? W-why don't you hold onto your words?" His hand quickly grabbed the joystick from his dashboard. One of the spider's arms pointed to a body on the pavement, covered in blood.

Apollo raised an eyebrow.

"Oh, you think she's dead already?" He smirked. "She isn't. Let me go before I kill her. Another life on... on your hand." He breathed.

Apollo glanced at the woman on the pavement. She was still breathing. Injured, but breathing.

Apollo slowly let go of him and kicked the joystick out of his hand, breaking it apart from the machine and flying somewhere in the sky.

Grabbing his neck once again, Hunter caught his breath.

"This is the end, Hunter. You're not getting away with this again." Apollo squeezed his neck tighter, watching Hunter's eyes roll to his back as he became unconscious.

"Stop."

Apollo turned his head behind to a woman in a bulletproof vest, raising a comically large yet unusual shaped gun in her hand. It glew purple, sparks flying from it. Her hands shook as she tried to steady her aim.

"Here to save your man?" Apollo tilted his head as he slowly set Hunter down on his seat. "You can't harm me with… what's that, a gun?" He slowly started to fly to her.

"Just leave, Gwen. You can be spared with jail time if you just let it go. I know what Hunter did to you—"

"No!" She shouted, her finger on the trigger. "He guaranteed this would kill you."

Apollo furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. "Hunter wouldn't know--"

"I didn't make it."

He turned his head to Hunter who winced as he sat up. Apollo cursed in his head. Someone ratted him out then. He raised his hand to shoot the gun away from Gwen's hand when she pulled the trigger.

About to fly away to avoid getting hit, the blue mist that came from the gun quickly devoured him.

Apollo disappeared.

Hunter and Gwen's eyes widened seeing the superhero disappear in front of their eyes.

"It... worked." Gwen muttered, looking at Hunter with a smile.

In a dark sandy place, a circular blue mist appeared, shooting out Apollo from inside and crash lands to an empty plot of land.

He groaned as he slowly sat up, a hand on his head as he massaged it. "What a ride..." he muttered.

He looked around at the mostly empty place. It looked like a construction site with the place being off-limits and signanges everywhere.

"Well, it didn't kill me." He sat up, dusting himself off. "Looks like it was a teleportation machine instead of a device-to-kill-me machine." He chuckled to himself.

Apollo looked around once again, his white hair ruffled and a mess from his landing earlier, trying to look for an exit. "But where the hell am...I?"

He looked up and saw multiple things in the air that seemed to float in the sky. As if it were travelling. No, it was... they were people?

"What...?"

Apollo quickly flew up, a cloud of dust appearing as his feet left the ground. He stood in the air, frantically looking everywhere.

There were people everywhere in the sky. Zooming around without even any equipment on their backs or shoes.

"How could this be?" He looked down at the construction site and saw the people working there carrying the boulders and cement blocks. Each person carried one.

Children were running in one of the playgrounds and Apollo could barely see them run by.

What was this?

It was different from Earth. From his Earth.

Everyone could fly. Everyone had super strength. Everyone had super speed.

"Where am I?"
