it was Yu Xiaogang...Master Yu, slowly standing with a limp, holding his waist. His presence made everyone nearby take a cautious step back; no one wanted trouble.
Xiao Chenyu, however, was unfazed. Six years in the academy had taught him arrogance and confidence.
He even scorned the so-called master standing before him.
"You dare shout at me, you little brat? Want to die?" Xiao Chenyu's voice boomed across the cafeteria, startling everyone.....including Yuan Longxuan, Xiao Wu, and Wu Ling, who had just arrived.
Wu Ling and Xiao Wu exchanged confused glances. "What does he mean by… 'little brat'?" Wu Ling whispered. Xiao Wu shrugged, equally puzzled.
Yu Xiaogang's face was purple with anger, but he held back, restrained by the truth that the city lord's son could not be lightly challenged.
As the saying went, "A powerful dragon cannot kill a local snake." Yet in reality, the "dragon" in question was more like a pig pretending to roar.
Tang Chuan's patience snapped. "Boy, you're asking for death!"
The Blue Silver King surged beneath him, vines extending like countless fists ready to strike Xiao Chenyu.
"Stop, Tang Chuan!" Yu Xiaogang roared. Despite the insult and Tang Chuan's urge to strike, he obeyed his master's command, halting his attack.
"Understood, teacher," Tang Chuan said, bowing slightly.
Xiao Chenyu's defiance might have seemed amusing to the students, but the real lesson was clear: disrespecting a master could have consequences. Yet Yu Xiaogang's own position as a master limited his actions.
At that moment, Yuan Longxuan entered the cafeteria.
He led Xiao Wu and Wu Ling up the stairs, calm and unbothered by the tense scene below.
"Don't worry, Sister Wu Ling. With me here, no one will dare to bully you," Xiao Wu said, holding Wu Ling's hand.
Wu Ling, reassured by Xiao Wu's words and Yuan Longxuan's presence, finally relaxed. "I understand, Sister Xiao Wu," she said.
Xiao Chenyu and his followers, once proud and arrogant, scurried to their seats as soon as they saw Yuan Longxuan.
Their legs shook, betraying their panic. Even Yu Xiaogang, who normally maintained authority, retreated quietly to a corner.
Tang San and Tang Chuan lowered their heads, pretending to study the menu, avoiding any confrontation.
"Are they… afraid of a fight?" Wu Ling whispered.
By the time Yuan Longxuan placed the group's order, Tang San's party had already begun eating ravenously.
Their hunger was apparent....they had never tasted meat before, much less a meal with oil and proper seasoning.
The boys ate like it was their first meal ever, filling themselves eagerly while keeping watch on their surroundings.
The past six years had been free-range survival for them. Two bowls of porridge a day had been enough to keep them alive, but now they were truly enjoying a proper meal, thanks to Yuan Longxuan's presence and guidance.
Tang Hao, no longer concerned about their upbringing, didn't intervene.
As long as the boys awakened their martial spirits, his mission was complete. Everything else.....their upbringing, discipline, and even minor indulgences....was left to fate and their teachers.
Even in a world of chaos and potential danger, Yuan Longxuan, Xiao Wu, and Wu Ling were safe.
And with that, a new chapter of their lives began.....full of power, wisdom, and protection.
The cafeteria buzzed with the usual lunchtime energy,
but for Yuan Longxuan, Xiao Wu, Wu Ling, Tang San, and Tang Chuan, it had quickly turned into chaos.
Xiao Wu, ever curious about the human world, looked around at every dish with wide eyes.
"Brother Yuan, I want some of this carrot porridge!
And that one too!" she said excitedly, pointing at every steaming bowl.
Wu Ling, the "beautiful young man" sitting quietly beside her, looked at Xiao Wu with a mixture of admiration and disbelief
. Despite being Xiao Wu's reincarnation, Wu Ling's personality was entirely different....calm, observant, and far more restrained.
Yuan Longxuan chuckled softly at the sight. Watching the two girls interact was amusing.
Xiao Wu was bold and curious, while Wu Ling's patience and composure offered a stark contrast.
Seeing that Wu Ling seemed hesitant to order, Yuan Longxuan waved to the staff. "
Don't worry, I'll order the most expensive dishes after Xiao Wu finishes," he said with a wink. "The system mall clearly approves!"
He quickly ordered a variety of exotic meats, soups, and vegetables, ensuring that the girls had more than enough to eat.
Meanwhile, Tang Chuan and Tang San were already attacking their meals with ferocious intensity. What they had once considered dirt....cheap meat, oily vegetables.....now looked like the finest delicacies.
Tang Chuan devoured chicken legs in a single bite, a display so exaggerated it made Yu Xiaogang recoil in horror.
Beside him, Tang San shoveled braised pork into his mouth without even chewing, swallowing it whole, while keeping one eye on the rest of the table.
Xiao Wu and Wu Ling watched the brothers with simultaneous frowns.
The greasy stains on their hands, the soup dribbling down their collars, and the red marks on their cheeks left no doubt:
Tang San and Tang Chuan were eating like wild animals.
Tang San's expression betrayed only a hint of embarrassment, but Tang Chuan, less composed, realized he had to salvage his image in front of Xiao Wu
. "Woo woo," he muttered, attempting to explain himself, but a chunk of spiced meat caught in his throat, forcing him to cough violently.
"Cough! Cough!"
In his panic, he forgot one small detail: Tang San sat to his right, and Yuan Longxuan directly across from him.
A chaotic spray of food erupted from Tang Chuan's mouth.
Fifty percent hit Yuan Longxuan's face, thirty percent splashed onto Wu Ling's plate, ten percent landed on Tang San, and the remaining ten percent settled messily on the table.
The pungent smell of half-chewed meat filled the air, making everyone grimace.
"Ugh!"
Two boys at Xiao Chenyu's nearby table couldn't hold it and vomited instantly.
The others looked away in disgust, murmuring complaints. Xiao Wu and Wu Ling both felt nauseous, recoiling slightly.
Yuan Longxuan, trying to maintain composure, grabbed a nearby napkin and wiped his face, sighing.
"He's… quite the character," he muttered under his breath.
Tang San wiped his own face and stared at his elder brother with disbelief. Even after coughing,
Tang Chuan noticed that Xiao Wu and Wu Ling had already turned their heads away, refusing to look at him. Disappointment washed over him.
