Chapter 47 - Chapter 47: One Meal Lasts Six Years!

Black Zetsu turned his gaze toward Uchiha Obito.

"For every mission you complete," Obito said coldly, "I'll bring someone for you to devour."

At that, Black Zetsu felt a slight sense of relief. When it came to finding prey for a monster, Obito was far more reliable than he was.

With Obito's assurance, Amamiya Rei lowered his head slightly, his gaze drifting from the ceiling down to Obito standing before him.

For a long moment, Rei stared directly at him, his expression and eyes carrying a candor and frankness that simply did not exist in the shinobi world.

Fixing Obito with that unwavering look, Rei spoke bluntly:

"I don't want weak shinobi—they're worthless, no nourishment at all! I want the flesh of powerful shinobi!"

…Truly a monster.

So consumed by primal desire, heedless of consequences, submitting only to his most primitive instincts.

A flicker of scorn and disdain passed through Obito's heart.

Since this fool had such obvious needs, he would be easy to use.

Indeed, as Black Zetsu had said, this monster did not seem especially intelligent. But as long as sufficient benefits were provided, he was obedient enough.

Obito's requirements were not complicated—he didn't want pawns that schemed too deeply or questioned too much. All he needed was someone who could understand orders and carry them out seriously.

Meeting Rei's gaze, Obito gave a small nod, accepting his condition.

Seeing that nod, Rei waved his hand, impatiently signaling for Black Zetsu and Obito to leave.

Though Konoha was already in chaos, it was better for them to remain cautious.

And so, the figures of Black Zetsu and Obito disappeared soundlessly from the living room.

Rei lay stretched out on the sofa for a while. His eyes rested on the ceiling, yet in truth, he was staring at the health bar displayed above his head, tallying up the gains from tonight's feast.

The numbers for chakra and sunlight points above him had exploded upward.

He counted them several times to be sure.

The thrill that surged through him was like that of a pauper who had suddenly struck it rich, his excitement so great he felt he could run laps around all of Konoha.

His sunlight value had leapt to 1,455,000, and his chakra reserves had reached 14,600,000.

1,455,000 minutes—that was 24,250 hours, which meant 1,010 days.

If he factored in the nights when the sun could not shine on him, that number would double—2,020 days.

In other words, Rei now had nearly six full years without needing to worry about sunlight at all.

At last, he could breathe easy.

Although these numbers were still not enough for him to waste recklessly, they were more than enough to relieve the constant dread of depletion—no more fear of suddenly being burned to death under the sun.

And beyond chakra and sunlight, the abilities he had acquired left him almost trembling with exhilaration.

First came the max-level skills from the world of Demon Slayer:

Kanae Kocho's Flower Breathing: all forms.

Akaza's Blood Demon Art: Destructive Death.

Nakime's Blood Demon Art: Control of the Infinity Castle.

These three were precisely what Rei needed most right now.

Flower Breathing had an extremely high affinity with his Wood Release, and it was easy enough to explain its use.

Akaza's Destructive Death perfectly compensated for his lack of taijutsu.

And Nakime's Infinity Castle—this was one of the abilities he had desired above all else.

To master the Infinity Castle meant commanding an entire alternate dimension, with himself as its center, its labyrinthine passages under his complete control.

Like Nakime, all Rei had to do was play the biwa in his hands to manipulate the Infinity Castle.

He could drag any target into its halls and transfer them anywhere within its endless corridors.

In battle, such a power was nearly invincible.

He could reshape the terrain to exhaust his enemies, keeping them from ever reaching him, while he himself could approach them at will.

The Infinity Castle was the ultimate battlefield—an environment tailored perfectly to his advantage.

The only drawback was that from now on, he would have to carry a biwa wherever he went.

Greedy as ever, Rei then found himself yearning for Daki's ability. He remembered how her sashes contained independent spaces.

If he obtained that, he would possess countless alternate dimensions—he could store the biwa inside her sashes and then seal the sashes within his body.

How convenient that would be!

Truly the perfect ability for traveling.

All the Demon Slayer abilities were already maxed. As Rei examined the skill cards, the biwa materialized soundlessly at the edge of the sofa.

Casting a glance at it, Rei reached out, and the moment his fingers brushed its surface, an overwhelming sense of familiarity surged through him—like he had been playing this instrument for a hundred years.

But now was not the time to amuse himself with the Infinity Castle. He still had abilities from the Naruto world left to inspect.

The first: Kushina's Adamantine Sealing Chains. Invaluable against tailed beasts—once bound, he could devour them at will.

The second: Minato's Flying Thunder God Technique. The moment he saw it, Rei felt like thanking the heavens themselves!

This was the jutsu that made Minato famous across the shinobi world, the very skill that shone brilliantly in the Fourth Great War. It was the very definition of a true "bug" ability.

The third: Kurama's Malice Perception. Paired with Black Zetsu's wide-area sensing, it would make hunting his prey all the easier.

Beyond those were Kushina's Four Red Yang Formation and Eight Trigrams Sealing Style, as well as Minato's Sage Mode and Rasengan.

Not a single useless skill among them.

Tonight was truly the pinnacle of Rei's luck.

Though the Naruto-world techniques would require him to study and master them on his own, Rei had faith in himself.

Buzzing with energy, he immediately got to work, opening the skill card for the Flying Thunder God.

Following the instructions, he began to study.

Ten minutes later…

His vision swam, his mind a haze.

The Flying Thunder God was absolutely inhuman.

None of it made sense—only endless strings of numbers and symbols danced before his eyes.

At that moment, Rei regretted never taking mathematics seriously.

As the saying went: Master science, and you can walk through any dimension without fear.

How true those words were!

Why did mastering a ninjutsu require studying math and physics too?!

To think Minato had grasped the Flying Thunder God on his own—what a genuine genius he was.

Having made no progress at all, Rei offered the man his most heartfelt admiration.

His brain overloaded, Rei decided to rest a little.

But just as he closed his eyes, there came a soft knock at the door.

"…."

Rei opened his eyes in weary resignation.

The chakra outside belonged to Uchiha Shisui.

Inevitably, Shisui arrived precisely when his presence was least welcome.
