Chapter 14 - The Brainsaver

In the cold, dimly lit room of the secret facility, the air felt heavy and thick with tension. Dr. Edward William sat tied to his chair, his heart racing as he stared at Mr. Lesbon, the President of the USA, standing before him with a calm smile. The walls were plain metal, echoing every small sound, and the faint hum of machines filled the background, making the place feel even more like a prison.

Mr. Lesbon tilted his head slightly, noticing Dr. Edward's shocked expression. "What happened, Mr. Ed? Why are you so puzzled?"

Dr. Edward William shook his head slowly, his voice shaky with confusion and fear. "No, nothing, nothing. I was just wondering why I have been kidnapped along with my daughter and why I am being presented to you, Mr. Lesbon."

Mr. Lesbon waved his hand dismissively, his tone reassuring but firm. "You don't worry, Mr. Ed. You will get all your answers soon."

Dr. Edward William frowned, his mind spinning with worry. "But I would have come myself if I had known you were calling me."

Mr. Lesbon shook his head, his eyes narrowing as he leaned forward. "No, it was way too risky to call you like that, Dr. Ed. You are sitting here for a very special mission. The mission to save your country, the mission to save the citizens of USA."

Dr. Edward William blinked, his face full of confusion in the harsh light of the room. "I am unable to understand, Mr. Lesbon."

He glanced at Hana, still limp from the chloroform, and his voice grew more urgent. "But what does this have to do with my daughter?"

The chloroform's effect on Hana was fading slowly. She began to move her hands and legs weakly, her small body twitching as she woke up. Dr. Edward looked at her with tender worry, gently placing his hand on her head and running his fingers through her soft hair, trying to comfort her in this scary place.

Mr. Lesbon pointed his finger toward Hana, his expression serious and intense. "Everything is just connected with your daughter, Dr. Edward."

Episode 14 :- The Brainsaver

Dr. Edward William's eyes widened in alarm. "And what does that mean?"

The President nodded calmly. "Wait, let me show you." He turned on a large screen mounted on the wall.

On the screen, images of several people's brains appeared, along with tests that had been done on them. The scans glowed in blue and white, showing detailed maps of neural pathways in the sterile glow of the display.

The bright light from the screen hurt Dr. Edward William's eyes. He rubbed them slowly, squinting as he looked at the screen, feeling a deep worry knot in his stomach.

Mr. Lesbon pointed his hand toward the screen. "Are you seeing those different brains, Dr. Ed?"

Dr. Edward William raised his eyebrows, his voice hesitant. "Yes, but how are they related to Hana?"

Mr. Lesbon became silent for a few seconds, the room quiet except for the soft beeps from the screen.

Then he pointed his hand toward a brain in the middle of the screen. "Are you seeing that brain in the middle of the screen?"

Dr. Edward looked at that brain closely, his brow furrowed.

Mr. Lesbon continued. "That's the brain of your daughter. That's the brain of Hana."

Dr. Edward William shrugged, still confused. "Okay, so what? I am unable to understand what you are trying to say."

Mr. Lesbon leaned in closer. "Do you notice any difference between her brain and all other brains?"

Dr. Edward looked at that brain carefully but felt annoyed, his frustration building. He examined it for a minute but couldn't see the difference.

Dr. Edward William sighed. "I am sorry, Mr. Lesbon, but I don't think there is any difference between these brains."

Mr. Lesbon urged him gently. "Try to think, Mr. Ed."

Dr. Edward became very annoyed at Mr. Lesbon, his face reddening with anger.

Dr. Edward William snapped. "Mr. Lesbon, quit the fucking riddles and tell me straight what the hell is wrong in my daughter's brain?"

Mr. Lesbon held up his hands, his voice calm but firm. "No, you are taking it wrong, Dr. Ed. Nothing is wrong in her brain. In fact, she is special. She will prove like a miracle for our country, for the citizens of this country."

Present Time

In the rainy rooftop of the Texas Lab, the group huddled around the dying Dr. Edward William, the air still damp and chilly from the storm. Ivan, a young boy with wide eyes full of curiosity and fear, leaned forward.

Ivan asked softly. "What was special in her brain? Did he tell it?"

Dr. Edward William nodded weakly, his voice tired and sad. "I also asked the same question from him and...."

Flashback

Back in the cold room, Dr. Edward William's voice rose with impatience. "How is she special, Mr. Lesbon?"

Mr. Lesbon straightened up, his tone direct. "Okay, Dr. Ed, I will come straight to the point. No more twisting words. Nothing."

Dr. Edward William became very curious to listen about it, leaning forward despite his ties, his eyes fixed on Mr. Lesbon.

Mr. Lesbon explained. "Imagine that there's a chemical in Hana's brain—something that makes her different from everyone else. That chemical makes her brain sharper and truly unique."

Dr. Edward was not able to process the words of Mr. Lesbon. He was just looking at him carefully without moving, his mind racing in disbelief.

Mr. Lesbon continued. "That chemical produces extreme energy in her brain, which is why Hana's mind has become a topic of discussion."

Dr. Edward William broke his silence, his voice steady but puzzled. "What's the name of that chemical?"

Mr. Lesbon turned the screen on and pointed a remote toward the screen to show the text: Neurozene-X.

He described it. "Neurozene-X is a rare and powerful chemical that creates a lot of energy, which helps the brain work faster and more accurately. People with this chemical can think quickly, remember everything easily, and solve problems faster than others. We are unaware of its presence in Hana's brain."

Mr. Lesbon added. "So far, there hasn't been any known case where Neurozene-X was discovered in a human brain until we investigated Hana's brain."

Dr. Edward William frowned deeper. "But how will it benefit anyone if she has Neurozene-X in her brain?"

Mr. Lesbon clicked the remote to change the pictures on the screen, the images shifting with a soft click.

He looked toward Dr. Edward William. "Look, I know that you will not easily understand it, but our scientists think that Hana can do so many things using her psychic powers because of excess amount of Neurozene-X in her brain."

Dr. Edward William shook his head, anger rising. "I don't understand what you are saying, Mr. Lesbon. What psychic powers? This is fucking insane. You have kidnapped me for this fucking joke? Do you think I am going to believe your this childish joke?"

Mr. Lesbon turned angrily at Dr. Edward, his face hardening. "I don't fucking care whether you believe my statements or not. I just want to inform you that from now on, your daughter will live with our scientists in a top secret location."

Dr. Edward William's eyes widened in horror. "Are you kidding me..."

The chloroform was gone from Hana's body. She opened her eyes slowly, blinking in the bright light. When she saw her father fighting with a man, she got really scared, her small face paling.

Mr. Lesbon shook his head. "No one is kidding here, Dr. Ed. Our scientists need to do experiments on your daughter's brain in order to find out what she can do, what psychic powers she has."

Hana looked at Dr. Edward William, her voice trembling. "What is going on, Papa? Why are you fighting with him? What power is he talking about, Papa?"

Dr. Edward William patted her head gently, trying to hide his fight, his hand shaking. "Nothing, Hana, you need some rest. You can lie on your Papa's lap, beta."

Hana nodded, still scared. "Okay, Papa, but please stop fighting with that uncle."

Dr. Edward William smiled weakly. "Papa is not fighting with that uncle, beta. Lie down on your Papa's lap, beta."

Mr. Lesbon looked at the nearby scientists and gave them a signal with his eyes. Two scientists walked over to Dr. Edward William, their footsteps echoing on the hard floor.

Dr. Edward noticed both of them coming to him, unsure of what their intention was, his heart pounding faster.

Dr. Edward William asked warily. "Why are you coming here? What do you want?"

Both the scientists stopped near him.

Scientist 1 looked at him calmly. "Hand your daughter to me, Dr. Edward."
