Chapter 46 - Language Course and Unexpected Turns

The course is actually turning out to be fun. The age group ranges from 17 to 36, and yes, we are among the oldest. The instructors change frequently, which keeps things fresh and keeps our attention focused.

There's one instructor in particular—dark-haired and extremely polite. My God, I really like this man. He's excellent at his job and so kind. Every student listens to him with such focus. The classes are fun. When he shares stories about traveling to different countries, laughter fills the room. We all want him to be the one teaching every time. At one point, we even submitted a petition asking for him to be our main teacher—but unfortunately, it didn't go through.

Three or four weeks in, he invited us all to have coffee together. We met at a café. That's where I started having longer conversations with my ex-husband. We'd talk about work problems, how to be more efficient, blah blah… just daily life stuff. And honestly, I had no feelings for him. Not a single one.

Because this man? He's short and dark-skinned. I like tall, fair-skinned, muscular men. Even if he were super rich, he still wouldn't get my attention. He didn't even have a car—he used a friend's car to get to the course.

So yeah—zero attraction. Zero possibility. Total impossibility.

Never say never, though.

He said he was doing this course to improve his work prospects. As for me, on days I didn't want to talk to anyone, I'd grab a coffee during break and just quietly sit by myself and text Chris. If he had time, he'd reply. Sometimes the next day.

At that time, I was definitely the one chasing Chris. I was constantly texting, calling—probably annoying him—but he never complained. He always responded, always made time for me. He listened to me talk about the course—what happened, who said what—and he'd laugh, give advice. He was supportive. He was always supportive.

Chris already knew two foreign languages outside his field and would give me advice on how to learn better. That's just who he was. An amazing man.
