Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Talent Test

Chapter 2: Talent Test

At Gollen Village, Seraph walked with a calm expression, followed by Seria, as if he wouldn't let go. Seraph, who was walking, arrived at the carriage. Seraph and Seria's father, Somen, was waiting unhurriedly. "Well, you're taking too long, Seraph. If you take any longer, I think I'll have to go after you," Seraph walked over, seeing Somen's face showing anger. Seraph bowed his head in earnest apology, but his expression remained calm. "I'm sorry." "If the carriage hadn't gone astray, I would have arrived sooner. Complaining is pointless. At least my father in this world is much better than that guy." Seria ran into the carriage. Seraph climbed into the carriage, and in front of Seraph was Somen, who smiled proudly at the two children. "But whatever, you two, you have to think about the time ahead." "Yes, I'm always on time," Seria raised her hand, showing her punctuality.

Seraph simply nodded. Time passed, and the three of them arrived at their destination. The sounds of people walking around, waiting for their children to take the test to find a cultivator. Seraph was the first to get off the carriage and looked around. He saw a crowd of people milling around. One of the children, Seraph's own age, was waiting in line. The area was gray rocks with a diamond the size of half a tree glowing blue. Green-robed cultivators, known as warriors, were flying around the sky, checking the situation. Their feet held swords as stepping stones for them to fly. Seraph looked at the warriors and then back at the rows of children of their own age lined up, waiting to be tested. Seria walked down and held Somen's hand tightly. It could be said that if something happened, these hands would never let go.

Somen walked over and grabbed Seraph's head and shook it slightly to relieve Seraph's stress. But instead of admiration, Seraph was probably more annoyed. "Don't be disappointed that you can't become a cultivator. Your life path certainly doesn't end here. "Seraph shifted his golden eyes to Somen. Seraph reached out to shake Seria's hand and pulled her by the arm, leading her to the front of the line. The line wasn't very long, and everyone's age expressed excitement. In front of Seraph was a young woman with waist-length, white-black hair. She held a sketchbook and a black paintbrush, and wore a black-and-white cloak. Baria, who sensed the two children joining the line, secretly turned to look behind her.

Baria's eyes revealed one white and the other black. Baria smiled when she saw Seraph. "Oh, it's Seraph-sama! The most beautiful woman in the world. Thank you for your drawing advice," Seraph nodded. "This child, seeing the line of fate connecting this child to the black paintbrush, gave it to me." Even though I don't know how much luck I've received, Seria walked up to Seraph, standing in a huff, facing Baria without fear. "It's been a long time, Baria. Are you still practicing your drawing?" "Of course it hasn't been a long time. Are you here to take the test?"

"Of course it is. The two of us will take the test, and I hope you pass, including Baria."

Baria nodded. "Let's practice together, and if we pass, I'm not sure if we can pass. Each of the kids seems much more skilled than me," a voice said from the front of the row. "Everyone, it's time for the test, please stop chatting." Baria turned, not hearing Seraph's question. The entire row of kids walked into the school. Everyone was shocked to see a ceiling decorated with green patterns like the woods clinging to the walls, and green flowers like grass for the kids to step on. Along with swords made from sticks stuck together like electric poles The children all reached the end of the corridor. A small crystal ball, twice the size of an adult's head, was placed there, completely white. Standing near the white ball was an old woman, accompanied by two assistants. The woman, around forty years old, held a green cane. Her clothes were a test of the power of the highest-ranking person in the room. Her long black hair reached down to her shoulders. All the children's gazes were focused on the old woman, and a voice suddenly rang out. "Then, we're going to test whether you're qualified to enter the Boren Academy as a cultivator. If nothing happens with the crystal ball within five minutes, you're not qualified to be a cultivator to use the magical weapons here. Then, you go first."

The first boy walked up, flustered. He had to go first, which made him appear afraid. "Put your hand on the crystal ball." The boy reached out to place it, but a light suddenly disappeared, forcing him to be eliminated. "Next!" The boy walked down, tears streaming down his face. Another boy approached to take the test and failed, resulting in another round. Each child approached to take the test, but failed, resulting in another round. As time passed, a child approached and managed to make the crystal ball glow green. "Pass, wait here," the old woman ordered the young girl to stand and wait. As time passed, the old woman's voice could only be heard repeating "pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass."

Until then, a young girl appeared in front of the crystal ball. She had waist-length dark blue hair, blue eyes, and a rich, blue-colored outfit. Her name was Zenon (the Berserker). Zenon's right hand reached out to touch the crystal ball. The white crystal ball caused blue lightning to rumble within it. The blue lightning engulfed the surrounding area, engulfing the light. The old woman expressed utter shock. "Bana, you can't even contain the energy in the crystal ball!?" This child, despite being so young, was terrifyingly powerful. This was genius level. No, it's more like a monster!? »

Seraph looked at the young woman and saw a golden line as large as a tree stretching out to a distant place. "I've often seen golden lines connecting people to objects and moving them around, but this kid looks vicious. I've never seen such a terrifying line of fortune before. No, Seria and Barrier, those two kids' lines are about the same size. But as time goes by, the line of fortune will appear periodically, so it'll disappear." The old woman continued, "Pass, next one." As time passed, people were told they passed or failed, until it was Barrier's turn to catch the ball. "If it's as I expected, Barrier will create something similar to that child."

Baria walked up to the marble. Barrier stared at the white marble with a frightened expression. His right hand reached out to touch it. Green sparks erupted, puffing up. Green wind swept around Barrier. The old woman was utterly shocked. "This is the second genius! So, our school has two geniuses!?" The surrounding children saw Barrier's display, and their expressions filled with envy. "This is what you call a genius." "Yes, this is what you're most likely to be." "She can make the crystal ball shine more than us," the voices of the finalists argued back and forth.

Seria smiled enviously. "Big sister, look at how Barrier can make this light shine. How enviable! I wish I could do that too." "Your turn," Seraph said coldly. Seria walked up to the white ball. Barrier stood beside the other children waiting in line for the students who had come here to finish their test. Seria reached out her right hand and touched the crystal ball to test it. A golden glow appeared, causing the entire examination hall to stare at the golden light. The old woman was stunned once more. Fortunately, her body had been trained well, so she didn't go into shock. "That's crazy, Third Genius. Our school will definitely win first place this year. Maybe this year, there will be a student in our school who can beat the training academy?" The old woman was overjoyed. This year, the school had received three, maybe four, geniuses. "Passed, next one," Seria cheered as she stood near the barrier.

Seraph walked up to the orb with a cold expression. His right hand touched the orb. A small golden light shone through it, and the orb exploded. BAM! The old woman gasped. Her hand touched the orb, causing it to shatter. "This kid is beyond monsters! Did he even break the orb?" Under the silence of Seraph's shattered orb, the old woman couldn't believe her eyes. The three students who had passed performed exceptionally well, but Seraph performed even better. The assistant's voice rang out. "Sorry, the orb's lifespan has expired! So, let this child try it again." The old woman closed her mouth and retracted her words. "What? I thought this kid was a genius?"
