Chapter 78 - Disappearing Footsteps in the Village

Zavrion and Kenny were sitting together, laughing and teasing each other, while on the other side of the village, Vixen drove his car through every winding road, tirelessly searching for Megas. But no matter where he looked, there was no trace of him.

Growing uneasy, Vixen began showing Megas' photo to the villagers one by one.

"Have you seen this man?" he asked.

Every answer was the same—"No, I haven't seen him."

The more Vixen heard those words, the heavier his chest felt. A dark thought crept into his mind.

Could it be… that demon god has returned?

His jaw tightened. No matter what, I must protect this village and the villagers.

With that resolve, he returned home, though his heart was heavy with worry.

The moment Kenny heard the sound of Vixen's footsteps, he rushed forward.

"Brother Vixen, where's Megas?"

Vixen exhaled slowly. "I've searched every corner of the village for your boyfriend. I even asked every villager I met… but no one has seen him. I couldn't find him, Kenny."

Kenny's face fell, his chest tightening painfully. Kin came over and gently patted his head.

"Try calling Megas again."

Following Kin's words, Kenny dialed the number once more—but the same lifeless voice echoed from the other side: Not reachable.

Without another word, Kenny walked back to his room and shut the door firmly behind him.

Vixen and Kin exchanged a worried glance, both feeling a pang of sympathy for him.

Zavrion, having noticed the closed door, knocked lightly.

"Kenny, you can't lock your room. This isn't only your space."

When there was no reply, Zavrion used the excuse of needing the bathroom to make Kenny open the door. The moment the door creaked open, he saw Kenny's tear-stained face, eyes and nose red from crying.

Without hesitation, Zavrion pulled him into a firm hug.

"You love Megas that much?" he murmured.

Kenny said nothing, only continued to cry silently against his shoulder.

"Alright," Zavrion said softly, "tomorrow I'll go and find your boyfriend myself. I promise."

Kenny looked up, wiping his eyes. Zavrion gave him a wistful smile.

"If only you cried like this for me… then I'd love you even more. Well, I already love you a lot. I just wish you were mine."

The words earned him a playful shove from Kenny, who moved to swat him. Their bickering was interrupted by Kin's voice calling them for dinner.

The whole household gathered at the table, sharing a warm meal. Later, Kenny sat with Kin on the sofa, chatting quietly.

"Brother Kin," Kenny asked with a curious smile, "who do you think Zavrion takes after? I don't think he's much like you… Well, maybe his eyes, nose, and lips look like yours. But his tall, muscular build is just like Brother Vixen's. Still, his temper—he gets angry so easily! If he can't control his temper, isn't that dangerous?"

Kin laughed. "That's exactly why I like my little Kenny more—so calm and gentle."

From his room, Zavrion had overheard every word. Stepping out shirtless, he gave Kin a pointed look.

"And you don't like me?"

Kin grinned. "You're too mischievous. I prefer Kenny—he's peaceful and well-mannered."

Feeling a little sulky, Zavrion turned to Kenny. "So, what about my muscles? Think you could fight me?"

Kenny smirked. "Go study. Stop being so uncivilized."

Meanwhile, Vixen was sitting quietly in the balcony, lost in thought. A while later, movement caught his eye—someone was walking toward the house from a distance. But the figure was cloaked in darkness, and he couldn't tell who it was…
