Chapter 51 - Chapter 41: Pajamas, Powers, and Preparing for the End

Part 1

After waking up in her new fluffy cat-eared pajamas, Han Yue rolled around lazily in bed, snuggling her warm blankets for a few more minutes of peace. Eventually, she yawned, stretched her arms, and finally got up to brush her teeth and wash her face.

Still in the mood to stay cozy, she didn't bother changing clothes and padded downstairs in her pajamas, her soft slippers making little sounds against the polished floor. It was still early, and breakfast wasn't ready yet—perfect time to lounge around.

With her little pets trailing behind her like ducklings—the healed Dog wagging his tail, the two kittens meowing softly, and the baby bunny hopping gently—Han Yue made her way to the living room and collapsed onto the couch with a sigh of contentment.

She scrolled through her phone, sipping the quiet morning.

The alien panic was still raging online.

International news outlets were hosting heated debates:

Were the "Aliens" terrorists, or saviors?

Some netizens dubbed them "Cosmic Cultural Restorers."

Others joked that they were just thieves in cosplay.

One meme in particular had gone viral again:

"The aliens came for peace—and a shopping spree."

And at the top of the trending page was the now-infamous CCTV shot of Han Yue, fully dressed as an alien, calmly standing outside a national museum, flipping through a book titled "The End of the World Starts with Buying Zero Yuan Shopping."

The internet was now split between three groups:

"It's performance art!"

"It's a coded warning from aliens!"

"This alien is my idol!! Where can I get the same costume??"

Han Yue smirked at the comments. "They're all right," she murmured under her breath.

While she was still scrolling, completely immersed in her online mischief, she didn't notice someone had joined her on the couch—until she felt a gentle touch on her head.

Startled, she looked up and saw Long Yi right beside her, fingers lightly brushing her cat ears with an unreadable expression in his eyes.

Her face turned red. She blinked up at him, speechless.

"Good morning," he said casually, still looking at her head. "Let's go eat breakfast."

Without waiting for her reply, he stood up and made his way to the dining room.

Han Yue sat frozen for a second, then reached up to touch the top of her head where he had just patted her.

"...Good morning~" she whispered, her voice trailing behind as she quickly got up to follow, a soft smile lingering on her lips.

Part 2

During breakfast, Long Yi casually announced, "There will be a meeting later about tomorrow's schedule, updates on the base, progress reports—usual stuff."

Everyone at the table agreed. Of course, little Zhihan wasn't part of the meeting. He was more focused on unboxing the mountain of toys Han Yue had gifted him yesterday. He had a whole fortress of unopened surprises waiting for him after breakfast.

Once the meal ended, the Long Family, Han Yue, Secretary Wen, and Han Yue's two assistants made their way to the upstairs meeting room.

Secretary Wen began with a report:

"The Shadow Guards abroad are operating according to the flight and logistics schedule. Collection and shipments are on track. Most missions are nearly complete and undergoing final checks. Some teams have added supplies and weapons to their cargo lists and reported those adjustments to me. I've approved them on your behalf, Sir."

Long Yi nodded. "Tell them if they've finished their list, go all out. Buy more while there's still time—stick to the timeline so we can pick it up on schedule."

Secretary Wen jotted that down and continued.

"The new Long Base's foundation is complete. The underground levels have been fully excavated. Building construction is progressing on schedule—laboratory, breeding zones, storage, dorms, training grounds, HQ… everything is on track. The private military training base is also showing rapid progress. The restoration of the abandoned facility is complete. We're expanding it underground and adding new buildings and rooms."

Colonel Long nodded in satisfaction.

Wen then shared the world collection tour schedule:

"You'll be flying in a private jet together. Each country has over 60 warehouses scattered around different regions, so we'll split the team accordingly.

The countries include:

Freedom Country, Beauty Country, Bear Country, Dubai Chocolate Country, Curry Country, Golden Hands Country, Unicorn Country, and Rainbow Country.

Long Yi will focus on collecting weapons, gas, and other high-priority items. Han Yue, you'll handle around ten warehouses per country. You'll also have some free time—feel free to go shopping if you'd like."

Han Yue gave a lazy nod. That did sound tempting.

Colonel Long took his turn to report:

"The public military base we're coordinating with has lifted the lockdown. Construction is ongoing, and I've ordered expansion underground, including dormitory-style housing for possible civilian transfers when the end comes.

I've also been spreading warnings—letting certain people know that the world is about to change. So far, over 200 individuals have privately come forward, ready to follow my orders. I'll begin observing and testing their potential. If they pass, they'll be added to my private training base."

Han Yue agreed. "That's smart. When chaos starts, only strength and loyalty will keep things stable."

Colonel Long continued. "Their families will remain in the public military base. I'll need my own trusted people to help manage the larger population later."

Han Yue suddenly asked, "By the way, Secretary Wen, how are my customized movable houses coming along?"

"Still in production," he replied. "But don't worry—we'll be abroad for at least 1 to 2 months to collect, scout, and organize. There's time to finish them."

Han Yue blinked. "Wait—I thought we were just collecting this month?"

Wen reassured her, "This month is for collecting and final arrangements. After that, we'll shift to finalizing touches. The major issue was food, supplies, and weapons—and we've solved that. The rest is detail work."

He added, "Also, the 'End of the World' letter will be handed over to the Dragon Kingdom's Military and Government. It's up to them whether to release the news. But honestly? The world blames us for everything. They might dismiss it as another conspiracy theory."

Han Yue sighed. "I see… Then why did I work so hard collecting those warehouses before?!"

She made a mental note to tease Assistants Chen and Liu later.

Chen cleared his throat and said seriously, "Ahem. If you didn't collect the takeouts on time, the food would've spoiled... I was just being responsible."

Han Yue quickly changed the topic with a mischievous grin.

"Hey, does anyone want to try awakening their supernatural powers?"

Everyone at the table froze.

Colonel Long was the first to recover. "Do you mean… you have a way to awaken powers?"

Han Yue nodded casually. "Yep. I have a spiritual spring water in my space. It heals wounds and might awaken powers—depends on the person. It worked for me. Think of it like that marrow cleansing water in novels."

Colonel Long leaned in. "How much of it can you produce?"

Han Yue tilted her head. She didn't want to tell the full truth. What if the government gives it to the rich families or misused it? So she decided to play it safe.

"Just a small amount. One bottle a week. I've saved up three so far. One bottle can be shared by five people."

She waved her hand, and three small bottles appeared.

"If you're gonna drink it, use the restroom after. It'll flush out toxins—it gets messy."

Long Yi, Grandpa Long, and Colonel Long all decided to try it. Secretary Wen, Assistant Chen, and Assistant Liu joined in.

Han Yue waved them off and headed downstairs to snack and play with Zhihan.

One hour later…

Everyone returned.

Grandpa Long looked ten years younger—"Wow, so handsome!" Han Yue teased.

Long Yi? Handsome as ever. A walking male god.

Colonel Long looked like Long Yi's older brother now. "Wait, are they even uncle and nephew anymore?!"

Even Secretary Wen, Chen, and Liu looked lighter, sharper, and younger.

Han Yue smirked. Looks like the spring water really works... Time to make more later.

Part 3

After their unexpected awakenings, the group headed to the mansion's private gym. Han Yue gathered everyone and began teaching them how to sense their powers through their Dantian.

"Close your eyes and try to feel a color, a spark, a sensation within your core. If you sense something, try guiding it into your palm — materialize it or imagine it forming."

To demonstrate, Han Yue calmly raised her hand, and a shimmering ice crystal floated in the air above her palm. The room fell into stunned silence.

One by one, they began trying.

To everyone's excitement, Colonel Long, Long Yi, and Secretary Wen managed to awaken supernatural abilities. Long Yi summoned a dark swirling mist — black elemental power. Colonel Long conjured earth energy, forming a compact stone orb from the floor tiles. Secretary Wen summoned wind, a gust circling his body like a playful breeze.

The others, however, showed no signs of elemental powers. Some looked disappointed.

Han Yue smiled and reassured them, "It's alright. Not everyone will awaken supernatural abilities. But try testing your body — you might have undergone a human mutation instead. That alone is powerful enough to survive the apocalypse."

Curious, they began strength and speed tests.

To their surprise, Grandpa Long was now able to lift 200 kilos with ease and sprint laps around the gym without breaking a sweat. His body felt lighter, younger, faster. Similarly, Assistant Chen and Assistant Liu displayed enhanced speed, strength, and heightened perception.

"See?" Han Yue grinned. "That's the evolution of the human body — strength, speed, senses. Even without flashy powers, you can still fight, survive, and protect. What good is a power if your body is weak or undisciplined? Nature won't be kind."

Everyone took her words seriously. A few immediately proposed starting a training program, while others returned to the gym equipment to test their limits.

As for Han Yue?

She happily slipped away downstairs to rejoin Zhihan, who was still surrounded by unopened toys, giggling as he tore open another box. She joined him for snacks, enjoying the peaceful break before the storm to come.
