Chapter 21 - For a Dynasty

After around a day, everyone was used to their kingdoms and what they needed to do. Although- it was all completely boring to watch.

"Anything fun happen yet?" Zooble asked from the kitchen. The take apart toy was making sandwiches while Gangle was wrapped up in a blanket, happily watching their friends on the TV.

"No, nothing yet. Though, Jax looks like he's gonna explode" Gangle giggled as she watched the purple rabbit. Stuck in a meeting about funding for the kingdom, he was on the brink of either sleep or tears.

"Wonder what Caine will do to make things more interesting. " Zooble thought outloud, handing Gangle her sandwich as they sat down next to her.

"Really think Caine will shake it up?" She asked, taking a bite of her meal.

"Oh definitely. Especially if he's also watching it." Zooble nodded.

Soon enough, the two were proven right. A new hologram appeared for each ruler. In exchange for more wealth, the player could push a "family" button.

"Huh? What's that supposed to mean?" Jax squinted at the text, as if it would reveal a new statement. But, he didn't care. More riches, was more riches. One by one, everyone hit their button; accept for Kinger. Who was currently staring out his castle window at the vast, digital sea. As well as Pomni, who was to busy with two NPCs fighting over land to notice the update

Everyone experienced the same thing, a small poof sound from the room next to them. Turning the corner, it was a bit surprising. They had all received parents.

Twinkle's mother and father were artic foxes, dressed in Russian like attire. Her father's hair grey-ed slightly from wisdom and age, her mother sharp looking like Twinkle was.

Ragatha's parents were also doll's like her, though both their eyes were buttons. Their Grey, yarn hair curled and frizzed at the ends. Their smiles were kind, gentle. Leather and vines also were used as their clothing robes.

Jax stared blankly at his given parents. A large male hare stood next to a short rabbit female. Both had fluffy fur that helped shape their bodies. Their attire was taken directly from Egypt. Beautiful gold, cream silks, sharp makeup. It was beautiful- and weirded out Jax.

"How the heck do I make em go away?" Jax mumbled to himself, looking closely at the hologram.

"Oh, this is gonna be good" Zooble spoke up, nuzzling deeper in the couch. Gangle nodded with her mouth full, leaning closer to her friend.

----------------------------------------------------

"Hello darling, how are you feeling?" The doll queen smiled at Ragatha, her button eyes moved over her daughter.

"I- um-" was all Ragatha could say, stunned.

"Raggie, are you feeling ok? You sure you can handle this?" Her father's voice was low and soothing. Both doll's closed the distance. Ragatha couldn't speak as she looked up at them.

"Harold, could she be sick?"

"Maybe,Raggie do you wanna lay down?" Theit button eyes stared into Ragatha, all she could do was nod.

Harold the doll then picked up his little girl. Both parents carried her to a large room. Smooth stone made up her bedroom. A soft, furr covered bed cushioned the doll as she was gently laid down.

"Martha, you felt a maid for some soup. I'll stay here." Harold tucked in his girl, as the queen ran off.

"Dont worry love, you'll feel better in no time." His stitched smile was calming, even if Ragatha's brain was running wild. Her system was shocked, and she couldn't mask this kind of reaction.

----------------------------------------------------

Twinkle's ears were lowered as she stared at her own parents. Her tail shook as it wrapped tightly around her left leg. Both parents looked confused at eachother before looking back at Twinkle, their heads crooked to one side.

Taking a breath, the fox relaxed; her usual smirk returning.

"Mama, papa, how are you?" The fox walked up, making the two smile; their tails wagging.

"Wonderful, how are things child?" Her father's voice carried a slight accent. Caine had went all out with this one.

"Exactly as intended. Meetings with both army generals are scheduled after lunch." Twinkle's mother patted her head.

"That's are girl. If you ever need us, we're right here snowflake"

"Thanks...mama" Twinkle's tail started wagging.

----------------------------------------------------

Jax stared at the rabbits, then turned away immediately.

"Jax, dear? Don't you have a moment?" His mother's voice called out. It was as sweet as honey, yet it left a bad taste on Jax's tongue.

"Nope, gotta- do war things and what not." Jax walked off, leaving his parents.

"Oh dear..what are we gonna do with that boy?" His mother looked up at her Pharaoh.

"I'm not sure. But if he goes down this path, we will need to step in before the gods come down on him"

Unknowingly, both Jax and Twinkle went into a meeting at the same time. Their green manikin NPCs went on and on with diffrent strategies for taking over local nations. Their eyes both landed on the same fact on the map, the desert and snowy mountains shared a boarder line. A simple river that separated the two lands. And both, had the same idea.

As the digital moon rose over the nations, both young royals snuck out. Twinkle used her pointed paws as claws, digging into the snowed stone of her walls. She slid down the wall easily, landing in a pile of cotton like snow. Shaking off the extra bits, she started bouncing through the white terrain.

Jax tied together his extra bed sheets, and slowly climbed down the sandstone of his own castle walls. Though the two were still half a mile away from the river, their eyes locked. Jax's purple skin was easy to see in the brown and yellow sand. Twinkle's black coat with like a statue of coal against the gently blowing snowstorm Caine creates for ambient mood setting.

----------------------------------------------------

Sleeping wasn't needed in the Digital Circus, but all the characters enjoyed it. They rarely had dreams, but it helped build a routine and pass time. However, Gangle and Zooble hadn't gone to bed. The two stayed up, happily playing a game of Uno.

"Ok how do you have so many draw two cards?" Zooble grumbled, taking two new cards to their fifteen hand.

"Guess I'm just that-" Gangle giggled but stopped, looking at the screen.

"Whats up?" Zooble looked over.

"Omg omg omg omg- it's like a romance movie! Star cross lovers~!" Gangle started freaking out, her ribbons vibrating in excitement.

"Now way- this is weird"

"Should we turn it off?"

"Dont you dare." Zooble sat down her cards, and turned up the TV's volume.

----------------------------------------------------

The two animals stared at eachother, a wide river their only barrier. The desert side had a flowing river. Healthy, green plants grew happily along its wet bank. The snowy opposite was frozen over. A few salmon like modles could be seen swimming under the ice.

"So, you stalking me now?" Jax broke the silence. A giggle rose out of Twinkle's throat.

"Don't flatter yourself little bunny. If i was stalking, then why are YOU here? Hm?" Twinkle's tail slowly swayed behind her.

"I saw on that little map thingy are kingdoms were attached. Thought I'd figure out how Caine did it." Jax shrugged.

"Ya that's fair. So, did ya hit that family button?"

"Ugh yea, I did." Jax lowered himself, sitting on the cool sand. Twinkle copied him. Laying in a small nest like circle of snow.

"You sound oh, so excited" Jax smirked at Twinkle's sarcasm.

"It's kinda freaky. Caine made their textures way to detail"

"Oh? I didn't think so. Then again, might be the whole Egypt thing ya got going on for you. Is that eyeliner?"

"Ugh, hey! It's- war paint." Both stared at each other before going into a giggle fit.

"You can't get it off, can you?"

"No! I can't get any of this off." Jax's chuckled turned into a laugh as he dramatically pulled on his jewelery.

The two talked into the night. Some about the adventure, guessing what the others were doing, then it turned into a comfortable silence. By the time Jax noticed how much time passed, Twinkle was half burried in digital snow.

"You look like a sad cupcake." Jax pointed out. The fox looked down, not noticing herself. Giggling, she stood and shook off the white dust.

"Guess we better get going huh? Don't want our new parents to see us talking to the enemie" Twinkle giggled, going into an attack pose.

"Oh yea, im so scared" Jax dramatically shook his body.

"Alright dork, I'll see ya. If you ever wanna team up, we could crush the others. Set a fire next to the river, and I'll know ya need me" Twinkle flashed a fang filled grin before bouncing away.

Zooble and Gangle watched Jax stretch out a hand in the fox's direction, but stopped himself. He kicked some sand toward the river, before returning to his own land.

"Holy sh(beep)" Zooble broke the silence.
