No one had gotten any sleep; not like they needed any anyway in the Digital Circus. No, everyone was at the Bunny Burrow. Ragatha had gotten Zooble and Gangle into a game of pool. Though, Gangle had to be taught. Jax trapped Pomni in a rather competitive game of air hockey; threatening to put something in her room if she didn't play. Then of course, kinger was happily laying in the dark room. That left Twinkle, who no one had seen since the reveal of Bunny Burrow.
"Do you think she's ok? Twinkle, I mean." Ragatha asked, stepping out of Zooble's way.
"Why wouldn't she be- sh(beep)" Zooble had accidentally gotten the white ball in the hole instead of her number four.
"Pomni didn't come out of her room often her first week here." Gangle spoke up, patting Zooble's shoulder.
"Mm, right. You're right." Ragatha took a breath. She wanted to check on the fox, but didn't want to come off weird.
Caine appeared in the middle of the basement room, smiling per usual.
"Alright my little discord kittens~! It's time for a new adventure!" Everyone slowly looked at Caine, mostly in disgust. Even Kinger poked his head out in crazied confusion.
"If you ever call us that again- I'm gonna force myself to abstract." Jax glared up at the ringmaster, who didn't understand their discomfort.
"Well, anywho~ I've taken it upon myself to take an adventure from the suggestion box!" Everyone but Pomni was surprised.
"Wait, there's a suggestion box?" Pomni looked around.
"Basically no." Zooble stepped up.
"He usually ignores it." Gangle added- then was suddenly knocked to the ground when Jax walked over and threw a pool ball at her; breaking her comedy mask instantly.
"F(beep) Jax, stop that!" Zooble yelled as they ran over to help up the now cry baby's pile of ribbon.
"Hm, well anywho- goodluck~! Hahaha!" With that, Caine disappeared.
"Wait, he didn't tell us the adventure." Pomni pointed out.
"Maybe we have t-o find it ourselves?" Gangle whimpered, holding her broken mask.
"Yea, you're right Gangle. Plus, it must be in the main circus area. After all, he didn't make a new portal appear." Ragatha pumped an arm, trying to lighten the mood.
Everyone agreed to head back to the tent. The walk back was silent, no one really felt the need to speak.
"Well, it seems normal so far" Zooble looked around.
"Ok, well maybe we should go to our rooms? Like a game of clue or something." Ragatha thought, more to herself.
"Yea, ok" Jax shrugged, alreadying walking that way.
"Though it would be good to check else where." Ragatha retorted, but Jax was already gone. Then, everyone else walked off in their own direction.
Zooble was walking down the red hall to their room, when Twinke was sniffing down the opposite side.
"Yo hey, Twinke" Zooble called, making the fox pull her head up.
"Oh, hey" Twinkle looks back down, sniffing right up to Zooble's room.
"Look, I don't want to assume anything. Yet, I saw Jax and Kinger earlier this morning looking suspicious with a bucket. Ragatha warned me he has keys to rooms so-" Twinkle's voice trailed off, nodding twoard the door.
"You're- kidding me. Kinger would never help Jax out." The toy slowly put their claw on the door handle.
"I'm just saying what I saw man..good luck." Twinkle walked off, past the room.
Zooble hesitated, before finally opening the door. Yet- everything seemed normal. It wasn't until three steps inside, Zooble understood. Most of the floor was covered in sticky syrup; maple syrup. A note on their mirror read 'since you're always complaining, this will help take ya apart! Have fun <3 -Kinger'
Zooble stared in disbelief. Their clawed crushed the note as they yelled out in anger.
----------------------------------------------------
The chess piece who caused the pull apart toy to be enraged, was walking to his pillow fort. Kinger missed the cooling dark, the peaceful thoughts. Until he stopped suddenly. His shakey hands shoot differently this time. Balling into fists he looked around frantically; until he spotted Twinkle. The fox was walking over to the fort, holding a paper towel.
"O-h! Kinger, you're back."
"What...what happened? Are...these bugs?" Kinger's voice was terrifyingly calm, as if he was very aware of his mental comprehension all of a sudden.
"I saw Ragatha stomping the ground earlier. She sounded freaked out. I came over and saw these little guys. Im so sorry, I couldn't find a towel in time."
"Please...leave.." Kinger slowly crawled into his pillow fort, silently. Nodding, Twinkle walked away after cleaning up the flat, dry mess.
---------------------------------------------------
After Ragatha looked around, she also headed to her room. Though, immediately she froze. Her door was slightly cracked open. Tip-toeing closer, she braced herself for the worst...surely, Jax had broken in again. Last time he did...it was disgusting. But, as she opened the door; there was nothing wrong. Her bedroom was a replica of a doll house's master bedroom. A large bed with curtains around it, obviously fake marble floors, bright soft pink wallpaper, and other girly furniture. The doll in question sighed in relief, until a knock scared her to turn around. It was Twinkle, who seemed worried.
"Hey girl, look- I don't want to accuse anyone..." She bit her lip, making Ragatha go into therapy mode.
"Hey, what's wrong Twinkle?" The fox looked up at her.
"Pomni earlier asked me if I had any thread and needles. Then, I saw her in your room..." Ragatha's face dead panned. Slowly, she looked around again. This time, she stopped at her bed. The curtains were usually tied to the bed post in pretty ribbon, but they were closed. Pulling back the curtains, she gasped loudly. Her sheets were completely destroyed, dress patterns were laying ontop of the remaining fabric scraps. A note was nicely pinned to a dress. 'Why wear rags when you could have something actually pretty? -Pomni :)'
"I'm sorry, but by the time I saw it was to late. Maybe we can have Caine get you new sheets?" Twinkle stepped closer to the stunned doll. Tears frozen in her eyes. On the one hand she should feel happy...that someone cared- but at the same time-
"It's a total invasion of privacy, I'm so sorry. I don't think you wear rags." The fox's tail gently hugged the doll's waist, making her look over.
"It's- It's fine. Perfectly fine" Ragatha's laugh didnt reach her eyes.
"I'll, leave you be." Twinkle left her alone.
---------------------------------------------------
Just leaving Ragatha's room, Twinkle wondered down the hall to see Jax.
"Oh Jax!" The rabbits eyes landed on the fox, a playful smile spreading across his dandelion teeth.
"Hey Twinkle Toes, what's up?"
"Well, I wanted to know if you've been at your room yet today?" Confused, his arms dropped from behind his head.
"Whatcha mean? Did something happen?"
"Well, I saw Gangle over there! She seemed pretty happy. I couldn't help but smell paint too...hm, oh well! She doesn't seem to be capable of anyharm. See ya!" Happily the fox skipped off, though Jax wasn't as happy.
Running, he left a small cloud of cartoon smoke as he darted to his door. Covering the walls and his door, was a painting of a farm. It didn't look to bad. There was a bright red barn, some fluffy sheep and rams too. But the focal point of the farm...was a large corn field. Muiltple corn husks had been painted pealed away to show the cobs underneath. His ears dropped, jumping back once his eyes met with the yellow vegetable.
"GANGLE I'M GONNA KILL YOU!" He yelled out.
---------------------------------------------------
The masked wearer in question, had her room further down the hall. Hearing Jax yell, she ran quickly.
"Whoa whoa hey, ya ok?" Twinkle turned the corner, almost running into the girl.
"No! Jax i-is mad for some reason! I gotta get outta here." Gangle's ribbons shook, making her mask jitter too.
"Oh, well if youre going back i had a question."
"What- what is it?"
"Are you the only one with art supplies?" The pile of ribbon was confused.
"T-o my knowledge. Why?" Twinkle shrugged.
"Well, I saw Zooble leaving your room with a blue marker. That's all. She was mumbling something. What was it?" She scratched her chin in thought.
"I think it was something about changing someone's mood. Oh well, I'll talk to you later Gangle." And with that, Twinkle walked past.
Gangle wasn't to worried. Zooble was always nice to her, even though she was pretty laid back or mean sometimes. She entered her stage like room. Her bed was on a small red stage. A mini curtain separated the bed with a vanity. The vanity was big and bright, something a Hollywood star would have. Just as she stopped, she understood now. All of her comedy masks had blue tears drawn on them, a note on the mirror confirmed her fear. 'Since you're always so sad, just stay that way'. Gangle had never felt this pain in her heart before. Her masks tears grew larger, and started to drip as she silently sobbed.
----------------------------------------------------
Pomni had copied Ragatha, looking around a bit before returning to her room. On her way to the sleeping hall, Twinkle had rounded the corner; bumping into the jester.
"Oh sh(beep)- I'm sorry sorry" Twinkle said, offering a hand to help up Pomni.
"No no, I was focused on something else." Lifting the jester up, Twinkle looked worried.
"Hey, do you have any candy in your room?"
"What? No why?"
"Um, well i was walking by your room. And when I walked by, I smelled something really sweet. I didnt want to invade so I didnt try to walk in. Oh well, see you later Pomni." Twinkle left a worried Pomni.
Getting to her room, she opened it up. Her eyes widened and her hands shook. All over the floor was melted chocolate, along side some other candies. The candies were gummies. Yellow and green colored gummys. 'Hope ya don't mind i left a little mess from my snack' was written on the note. A little bunny was colored on the corner in purple marker.
---------------------------------------------------
When Caine sent a mental message to everyone to meet at the stage, they were all happy to do so this time. Each character stormed over to the weirdly dark stage, but not one cared. Kinger's eyes were slightly red, as if he had been crying. Jax's face was a lighter shade of purple, his chest rising with large panting. Ragatha's eyes were also a little red, as she carried a purple dress. Gangle's tears still animated as she whimpered, holding a happy mask with tears drawn on it. Pomni's hands were full of little gummys, anger obvious in her eyes. And finally, Zooble was slightly late. A sloppy, wet plop sound echoing behind them. A few of their extra parts, dripping with syrup were in their hands.
"What the f(beep) Jax?! This isn't funny! How can you be so cruel!" Pomni's voice cracked, tears threatening her large eyes now.
"Like you're one to talk Pomni! I don't care if you thought you were being nice, you ruined my bedsheets! All for some dresses?" Ragatha tried not to yell, but her mask of kindness was breaking.
"You should be the last one talking Ragatha. Why would you hurt those poor insects?! Bugs have lives too ya know!" Kinger's hands waved around frantically, his eyes almost bugging out.
"You've completely f(beep)ing lost it Kinger! How the hell did you even get syrup! And do you know how hard it is to clean these parts?! I didn't until now!" Zooble waved the stick parts in front of him.
"And what- what about you? Huh?" Gangle's little voice trembled as she tried to speak up. "You ruined my masks!"
"Oh please you cry baby! What gives you the right to graffiti my door?! It was disgusting!" Jax's ears lowered as he spoke, his shaking arms hidden behind his back.
The slow sound of clapping along with a laugh caught everyone's attention. There Caine floated down to hover right above them.
"Well lookie here~! This has been very entertaining indeed!" The ringmaster laughed loudly.
"Wait...did you do this?" Pomni asked, her mind not knowing what to make of everything.
Caine didn't answer. His denture teeth smiled wide, as the dark stage lit up with muiltple spot lights. There was Twinkle. She layed on a very dramatic fainting couch, decorated with gold accents and red velvet cushions. On the floor by the couch, revealed everything. One of Gangle's masks, a packet of markers, a pallet of paint with used brushes, cardboard with crushed bugs drawn on them, and a large see through jar of maple syrup. In her hand, was a bag of yellow and green gummys. Slowly she ate one by one, a small little hat rested by one of her ears.
"You guys mad at me?" Twinkle giggled, popping another gummy in her mouth. Everyone's mouths dropped, hanging open.
"Wait wait wait-" Zooble waved their hands. "It's was you?" Twinkle nodded.
"This is a valuable lesson my students!" Caine said, floating over to Twinkle. He sat cross legged on the top curve of the couch.
"Believing someone based on a rumor is completely-"
"But, there were notes" Pomni interrupted.
"There were what now?" Caine looked toward Twinke who was giggling.
"Yea, I kinda left notes. I only left a few though, I knew they'd be to smart to just simply trust me." Caine nodded along to her explanation.
"Huh, how interesting! Great work Twinkle!"
The others weren't as impressed.
"What about our stuff?" Ragatha held up the dress.
"Or our rooms?" Zooble, again, wiggled their dripping parts.
"I will happily return everything to normal~! If, you can answer Twinkle's question" The fox smirked down at everyone from the stage.
"What Marilyn Monroe quote describes me in this moment?" Everyone just stared.
"Mon who?" Kinger asked, his crazed mind returning.
"Um, I don't know her work very well." Gangle mumbled, trying to rub off the blue marker from her mask.
"A nice girl turned mean?" Zooble mumbled.
"Hey, at least im pretty. Right?" Twinkle mocked. Her eyes darted to Ragatha and Pomni, both thinking. Suddenly, Pomni looked up.
"If you're two faced, make sure at least one of them are are pretty." Just as she stopped talking, Caine's fingers snapped. Zooble was no longer sticky, Gangle's masks was cleaned up, and Pomni no longer held gummys.
"Hey yea, I remember that movie." Ragatha stepped up.
"My mom loved Monroe" Pomni giggled.
"I'm sorry, Zooble." Gangle looked up at the toy.
"Hey, no worries." Zooble patted the top of her mask.
"Wait, how did you get the candy and stuff?" Pomni looked up, still shaken.
"Oh, Caine told me some information and I just acted on such. No hard feelings?" Jax laughed. A real, good belly laugh.
"Hell yea! Finally. Someone who knows how to have some fun!" Jax offered up a high five, which Twinkle happily took. Everyone was calming down, but Pomni was still confused.
"But- that doesn't explain how you got all this" she said to herself.
