Chapter 32 - Chapter 32: Kon Vs Mihawk

Kon raised his hands, and the sea roared, forming massive tentacles of water that lashed toward Mihawk.

'Let's see how he likes this,' he thought, focusing his Chi to control the liquid ropes.

Mihawk's eyes narrowed. "A waterbender… a pity. I've never seen one, but I'd have loved to fight a firebender."

'To think I would find a bender in East Blue of all places. Shanks told me that they were descendants of Gods and dragons. Let's see if that is true,' he thought, gripping Yoru.

As the tentacles aimed for his limbs, he swung his sword in a blur, too fast for Kon to track. The water split into countless droplets, scattering across the deck like rain.

Kon's jaw tightened, and he rushed forward, water swirling around him like a shield. Each punch he threw sent waves crashing toward Mihawk, but the swordsman dodged effortlessly, his movements fluid.

'He is skilled for his age but it's a pity that he lacks considerable strength. Though, he is also unlucky in the fact that his opponent is me, a swordsman. If he was fighting a devil fruit user, he would have a considerable advantage with him controlling sea water.' Mihawk thought

"Unfortunately, you're too weak," Mihawk said to Kon appearing in front of him, his voice cold. He slashed Yoru, the blade cutting through the air.

Kon reacted, raising his hands.

"Flowing Barrier!"

A wall of water formed, its surface rippling in a spiraling, liquid dance, moving so smoothly that Yoru's sharp edge slid off, unable to find purchase.

The water's constant flow redirected the blade's force, blunting its power.

'Got him! Mom was right, this technique would help me fight against swordsman. A slippery barrier that lets all sword attack slip from it. She said though that skilled swordsman could find a way through it.'

Kon thought, grinning.

With his other hand, he unleashed a burst of air, a roaring gust that slammed into Mihawk's chest, sending him flying into the sea with a splash.

"You should've never underestimated me," Kon mumbled, wiping sweat from his brow. 'That'll teach him,' he thought, panting.

A voice came from behind. "Yes, I shouldn't have." Kon's eyes widened as Mihawk appeared, dripping but unharmed, his speed unnatural. 'I sent him into the sea! How's he back so fast?' Kon thought.

Before he could react, Mihawk slammed Yoru's hilt into Kon's back, then kicked him hard. Kon grunted, pain shooting through him as he stumbled toward the sea.

Instinctively, Kon summoned air, stopping his fall and floating upward. He wiped blood from his lip, glaring at Mihawk.

'He's tough,' he thought, his resolve hardening. 'But I'm not done.'

Mihawk tilted his head, intrigued. "An airbender? Windbender? I've not heard of one. The only benders I know are fire, water, and earth. This is new."

Kon's mind raced as he moved his hands. 'I have not mastered my chi control to use bigger moves.'

"Mom would spank me if she saw me wasting Chi," he muttered.

'But this guy's too strong for my normal tricks. Let's see how he likes a wave and some ice.' He grinned, raising both palms. The sea surged, forming a massive wave, no tentacles this time—just a towering wall of water.

His Chi drained faster than he planned, making his head spin. His nose bleeded slightly from the effort.

'Too much power,' he thought, wincing. 'Gotta make this count.'

Mihawk's eyes widened slightly, a fleeting smile crossing his face before vanishing.

The crew watched, stunned. Zoro leaned on Goku, his wound aching. "Hey, Luffy, did you know he could control water?"

'He's controlling the fucking sea,' he thought, his mind reeling.

Luffy, wrapped in bandages, shook his head. "Nope."

'Kon's full of surprises,' he thought, grinning despite the battle going on.

Zoro's eyes narrowed. 'He made Mihawk's slash useless. How?' he thought, replaying the flowing barrier. 'That water moved like it was alive.'

Usopp clung to a railing, his voice shaking. "He's gonna flood the whole Baratie! We'll drown!"

'He is crazy,' he thought, his knees trembling.

Nami bit her lip, silent. 'Kon's power is unreal,' she thought. 'With him, Luffy, and Zoro, they might actually take down Arlong.' Her plan to betray the crew wavered.

Luffy grabbed Usopp's shoulder. "No, look! The wave's aimed at Mihawk. We just gotta brace for it. My vice-captain's gonna win."

The wave crashed over Mihawk, engulfing him. Kon took a deep breath, his Chi straining, and lowered the water's temperature.

The mass froze, encasing Mihawk in a block of ice. "That should do it," Kon smirked, panting, his nosebleed worsening.

'Got him trapped,' he thought, swaying slightly.

Mihawk's stoic face showed a faint smile within the ice. With a sharp crack, the ice shattered, sliced into pieces as if cut from within.

Kon's eyes widened. 'He broke out?' he thought, his heart sinking. Before he could move, Mihawk was in front of him, Yoru raised.

"You're strong," Mihawk said, his voice calm. "Live a few more years, and you might give me a real challenge." He slashed diagonally, the blade cutting across Kon's chest. Blood sprayed, and Kon's vision blurred, his body collapsing as he fell unconscious.

Luffy's scream echoed across the deck. "KON!!!"
