"Vive tu vida... y te daré algunos regalos".
He entered a shop that caught his eye—there were swords like those of the samurai and long swords, armor with strange, more rounded helmets. In a display, he saw coins marked with numbers followed by a "Y" and two lines.
A man approached him and asked if he liked anything or wanted to sell something. Remembering the rusted coins, he handed one over. The man poured a strange liquid on it and said:
"It's made of gold, but the craftsmanship is odd. Where'd you find it?""From some ruins… I don't exactly remember where.""Alright. I'll buy it for half a million yen. Okay… how about 800,000? That's my best offer."
Konrad nodded. Passing through more shops, he saw clothing with the same "Y" symbols. The man had given him a large amount of paper with numbers and the same mark in the middle—he assumed it was the local currency.
Entering another store, he found a shirt his size and tried on a black and blue jacket since it was cold outside. He also picked black jeans with pockets. Next door, a store sold footwear. Inside, he saw shoes like the ones the locals wore. Dressed now in new clothes, he paid at each store. They explained how, and he understood.
Tired, he entered a library and began reading: evolution, world history, Japanese language, economy, currency exchange, culture, and education. There were schools and academies—one was called a "university." He kept reading and later bought food. After days of eating only fish, a book about basic human needs taught him more.
Being from a semi-noble family, he preferred to live well, although he was used to filthy, foodless battlefields. He decided to take a break from that life.
After cleaning the cabin for about three weeks, he found a strange book. In his world, magic didn't exist. But the book outlined steps to use it: meditate, sit on the ground, and feel energy flow steadily through the body. He followed the steps until one day, while training with his armor and longsword, he noticed the sword had changed—still the same dark metal, but now with red lines.
"With that energy, you can imbue weapons or objects to make strikes stronger, blades sharper, and the body more resilient."
He felt the strength increase.
Weeks passed. He remembered the note stored in his armor. Reading the address again, he realized he now understood the city better. Its name: Kuoh.
Upon arriving at the address, he saw a medium-sized house, like all others in the neighborhood. Reading the documents he found inside helped him express himself better in this world—but he wanted to keep studying. Standing before the door, some people watched him. He followed the steps and entered.
Inside, he saw strange objects he didn't immediately recognize. Exploring further, he found a small study filled with books, a kitchen connected to the dining room and living room. He tried opening a strange machine—it blew out cold air.
"I'll read later to see what this is..."
He saw fruits, vegetables, meat, and some metallic-colored items. A milk container… but he didn't know how to open it. Opening the cupboard, he saw beautiful dishes—not like the wooden mugs or horn cups of the cowboys. They resembled the more advanced household items of the samurai.
He moved into the study and stayed there, only going out to eat and train with magic and his sword. The backyard was fenced, about 2.2 meters high. He began understanding this world more deeply and found papers with his name:
Gideon KonradAge: 18Parents abroadNationality: English-JapaneseHeight: 1.82 mWeight: 71 kg3rd year of high schoolKuoh Academy entry: February 28th at 8:00 a.m.Break: 11:30 to 1:00 p.m.Classes until 3:00 p.m.
Upon entering the academy, many girls stared at him, some blushing. But in the distance, the magic inside him stirred. He looked at a trio talking about breasts and women and heard a name: Murayama. He sighed and kept walking.
Minutes later, he heard bells and saw the students heading into classrooms. He kept walking until he saw a sign: 3-A. Looking at the paper in his hand: "Classroom 3-A, 2nd floor, Teacher Miyamoto."
He knocked. A young teacher opened the door, around 27 years old, with chestnut hair tied in a ponytail, black glasses, a white buttoned shirt, and tight black pants.
"Do you need something?"
He handed her the paper. She went inside and spoke loudly:
"Students, we have a new student."
She looked at him and gestured to come in. As he entered, the girls began to squeal. The teacher shouted at them to be quiet. Ignoring the noise, he spoke:
"My name is Gideon Konrad, from England. I'm 18 years old and I hope to be friends with you all."
The teacher said:
"Take the seat in front of Rias-san."
Looking forward, he saw a girl with crimson hair…
