"That, Kushina, Naruto's still young. Don't teach him stuff like this!" Minato smiled awkwardly. If Naruto really smashed The Third's crystal ball, the old man would probably end up hospitalized from a heart attack.
"Minato, we couldn't even accompany Naruto while he was growing up. The Third let him get bullied for years! What's wrong with me breaking one of The Third's crystal balls?" Kushina stood there like a lioness protecting her cub. The killing intent in her eyes told Minato clearly: if he dared say one word against her, today might become a bloodbath—and Naruto could end up in a single-parent household.
"No, no, I think smashing it is great," Minato said with a forced grin. He absolutely didn't dare provoke Kushina. At all times, the highest-ranking person in their house was always Kushina herself.
"Hmph!" Seeing that Minato knew better, Kushina decided not to give him any more trouble.
"Hehehe, Minato Namikaze, I never thought you were actually such a whipped husband. I wonder how the shinobi of the shinobi world will react when they learn that the Fourth Hokage, the Golden Flash, is afraid of his wife?"
The Nine-Tails lay sprawled lazily, speaking with disdain. How regrettable it was—back then, he'd suffered defeat at the hands of this guy. It had ruined his reputation.
"Who asked this single fox to poke his nose where it doesn't belong? You're so old yet still don't have a mate—you're clearly a virgin fox! Such a useless creature!" Hearing the Nine-Tails talk trash about Minato, Kushina immediately shot back. Their Minato was hers alone to bully—no one else even dared think about it.
"Uzumaki Kushina, what did you just say? Do you want me to kill you?" The Nine-Tails abruptly stood up, radiating killing intent. Who was he—a single fox? He remained single because he refused to settle down casually with just anyone. It wasn't like he couldn't find a mate!
"You think I'm afraid of *you*?" Kushina didn't back down at all. Back then, even when she was on the brink of death after having the Nine-Tails extracted, she had even managed to trap him with the Adamantine Sealing Chains. Now inside Inner Space, where she could fully exert her powers, it wouldn't be easy for the Nine-Tails to kill her. Besides—"Do you want to kill me? Aren't you afraid I'll use [Kuoran Nyūzen Taisu] on you again?"
"Agh, agh, damn you Kushina!" The Nine-Tails' eyes turned red with rage. Even after all these days, just hearing the name [Kuoran Nyūzen Taisu] gave him splitting headaches and left massive psychological scars.
Watching the Nine-Tails and Kushina arguing back and forth, Minato smiled helplessly while trying to mediate. Kakashi, meanwhile, looked curiously at Sakura sitting under a tree and asked, "Sakura, isn't this boring to you? Even Sasuke looks worked up. How are you staying so calm?"
Chapter One Hundred and Twenty-Four: Intelligence Downgrade Against The Third [Mid]
"Sakura, do you know something crucial everyone must remember about being human?" Teacher Kakashi asked.
Sakura took a book out of her Ninja Tool Pouch and began reading it calmly. "Stay humble and patient. No matter what happens, never act recklessly. Calm yourself down, and you'll discover another wonderful world!"
"Stay humble and patient..." Kakashi muttered thoughtfully after reflecting on Sakura's words, only to then notice the title of the book in her hands. His tone immediately shifted. "Why are you reading Make Out Paradise?!"
"What's wrong with that?" Sakura gave Kakashi a puzzled glance. She was just reading a book to relax—why did Kakashi look so horrified, as if she'd committed some major offense?
"This is Make Out Paradise?!" Kakashi's eyes nearly popped out of his sockets. "How can you, a minor girl, be reading this?! And why do you even have the Ultimate Deluxe Limited Edition?!"
"Pfft, Sensei, aren't you overreacting a little?" Sakura shrugged nonchalantly. "What harm is there in me reading Make Out Paradise? It's not like it's some restricted book! It's just a romantic novel with slightly suggestive scenes. Okay, maybe a couple of illustrations are somewhat... bold, but still, you're making too big a deal out of this."
Sakura was at a loss for words as she recalled her initial assumptions about Make Out Paradise. At first, she had also believed it was some kind of unspeakable literature, until by chance she flipped through one copy and realized it was nothing more than a love story—so innocent it barely even contained any explicit content at all.
Now that she thought about it, it made sense. Considering Jiraiya himself couldn't even work up the courage to confess his feelings directly, if he really did write anything inappropriate, he probably would've been beaten into a pulp by Tsunade long ago.
"As for the Ultimate Deluxe Limited Edition thing, didn't you know, Sensei?" Sakura continued casually while flipping pages, her tone dripping with smug confidence. "Jiraiya has already signed with our Celestial Society. This book is now published under our label. As the boss, I obviously wouldn't read a regular edition—it would just be beneath my status!"
Kakashi instinctively clutched his chest. He always hesitated before buying a rare edition for himself, yet here Sakura effortlessly obtained the highest-quality deluxe version without even spending a single coin. How could there be such a gap between them?
Meanwhile, after enduring Kushina Uzumaki's persistent training for so long, Naruto finally decided he should go ask the Third for an advanced mission. Standing beside him, Sasuke wore a look of relief on his face—after doing so many D-rank missions, he could no longer bear the monotony either.
Inside the Hokage Office, Naruto slammed both hands onto the desk, shouting furiously.
"Grandpa Third, I want an advanced mission! Hurry up and assign me one right away! I'm ready to leave the village and prove myself—I aim to become a true ninja!" Naruto declared loudly. "If you refuse, don't blame me for breaking your Crystal Orb so you won't peek around anymore!"
"Calm down, Naruto, please!" The Third quickly shoved the orb aside protectively—it was his most precious treasure, the one that had comforted him through countless lonely nights. He absolutely couldn't allow Naruto to destroy it.
"Grandpa Third, give me an advanced mission—NOW!" Naruto stubbornly insisted. "Otherwise, I'll yank off your beard!"
