Chapter 103 - Chapter 103

"Asuma, if I ever find out you've dared to go to the red-light district again, I'll break both your legs!"

"Red-light district?"

Both Kakashi and Kurenai, along with nearly everyone else present, gave Asuma looks filled with contempt. Nobody expected that Asuma, who seemed so honest on the surface, would be someone who frequents such places. Kurenai subtly took a couple steps sideways, creating some distance between herself and Asuma.

"When have I *ever* been there?"

Asuma felt completely wronged—he hadn't even stepped foot in a red-light district his entire life! And just now, the way Kurenai had looked at him was all wrong too. All the effort he'd put into making a good impression was completely ruined by his father.

"I won't bring up what happened before—but from this day forward, if you dare step one foot into the red-light district, I'll personally break both your legs so you'll never walk again!" Sarutobi snorted coldly, not even wanting to hear his son's explanation. His son was important, but his granddaughter? Even more precious. Compared to his obedient and sweet granddaughter, his son could easily be discarded.

"Kurenai, although Asuma can be a bit mischievous, he's not beyond salvation. From now on, please do me a favor and discipline him often. If he steps out of line, don't hesitate to discipline him. If he dares resist you, come tell me—I'll back you up."

Sarutobi smiled brightly and flat-out sold out his own son. "How about this? I'll send someone over in a few days to formally propose to you. Once your engagement is settled, you'll have full authority to manage Asuma. I'll assign several elite Anbu specifically under your command for you to use whenever needed. If Asuma misbehaves, just let the Anbu beat him up—this kid has always been like that, he only listens when he's beaten!"

"Ah, I understand."

Kurenai blushed slightly at first, but then agreed. After all, she already had feelings for Asuma. Now that the Third Hokage had spoken, their relationship was practically sealed. Since that was the case, from now on she must keep Asuma well in line and absolutely prevent him from ever hanging around in any strange places again.

Poor Asuma, whose engagement had just been decided in a few short sentences by his father, felt a chill run down his spine. He wanted to protest, yet couldn't find the right words. He liked Kurenai, and being engaged was definitely something he was very happy about—but seriously, he had never been anywhere near a red-light district! Try as he might, nobody believed a word he said.

Chapter 93: When Conspiracy Meets the Production Team [Continued]

For Sarutobi, tonight had truly brought continuous surprises. Originally, he'd only come to watch Mizuki's show, but unexpectedly ended up gaining himself a daughter-in-law.

While everyone was still celebrating Asuma and Kurenai's engagement, Mizuki had already arrived at the spot where he was supposed to meet Naruto.

Naruto had been dozing off on a tree branch, hugging the scroll, when he suddenly woke up at the sound of approaching footsteps. Spotting Mizuki's arrival, Naruto instantly leapt down from the branch, clutching the scroll tight.

"Teacher Mizuki, look, I've already got the scroll!" Naruto pretended to be delighted. He glanced around and asked in confusion, "Teacher Mizuki, you said earlier that Teacher Iruka would come here to present me with a ninja forehead protector, right? Where is he?!"

"Naruto, give me the Scroll of Seals in your hand. You'll graduate immediately!" Mizuki said excitedly, his face filled with greed.

"But Teacher Mizuki, why isn't Teacher Iruka here yet? Shouldn't it be Teacher Iruka who decides whether or not I can graduate?" Naruto tilted his head with an expression of feigned innocence.

"Iruka has something else going on and couldn't make it. Naruto, quickly hand over the Scroll of Seals to me—I'll personally present you with a forehead protector!" Mizuki barely held back the urge to stab Naruto on the spot, trying hard to force a kind expression onto his face, though his eyes still revealed pure cruelty.

"No way, Teacher Mizuki! I won't hand over the scroll until Teacher Iruka arrives!" Naruto shook his head firmly, unmoved.

"Naruto, give me the Scroll of Seals now!" Mizuki was growing impatient; if they wasted too much time, someone might find out and cause trouble. "I'll take you straight to Iruka afterward!"

"Mizuki-sensei," Naruto suddenly asked, "why are you so eager to get the Scroll of Seals?" He continued, "From what I know, whether someone graduates from the Ninja Academy is decided by the instructors there. And becoming a true ninja requires passing an exam administered by a Jonin instructor. As for what you just said—graduating based on handling the Scroll of Seals—I've never heard of such a thing before!"

"That brat..." Mizuki felt uneasy, and a terrible premonition began rising within him. "Naruto, you better hand over that Scroll of Seals now, or things will get ugly!"

"Looks like your true colors are showing, huh, Mizuki-sensei!" Naruto let out a contemptuous laugh. "You want the Scroll of Seals? Let's see if you've got what it takes to take it from me first. A lowly Chunin like you wanting the Scroll of Seals? Dream on!"

"You damned Nine-Tails brat—you're dead today!" Mizuki gritted his teeth furiously. He had always hated the Jonin in the village. Who gave them the right to climb the ranks when he—clearly more skilled—was stuck as a regular Chunin? Even Iruka, also a Chunin like him and teaching at the academy alongside him, made him burn with envy. Why did everyone love Iruka so much? Why did the Third Hokage entrust him with the heirs of powerful clans while treating Mizuki as nothing more than another mediocre teacher?

"You're really that confident?" Naruto secretly smirked to himself. Just a regular Chunin—what's worse, one who'd spent years behind a desk and lacked actual combat experience. All this time, he'd been training with Jonin-level opponents.

"Heh, demon fox brat—die."

Mizuki sneered coldly, pulling off the Fuma Shuriken strapped to his back. With a powerful swing, the massive spinning weapon flew toward Naruto in a blur. Seeing this, Naruto moved his feet instantly, preparing to leap sideways with the scroll tucked tightly in his arm.

"Thud."
