She had originally planned to tell him during his Chunin Exams, but now it seemed better to come clean early. That way, Naruto could learn the Flying Thunder God technique alongside his father. During the Chūnin Exams, he could once again make shinobi from other villages feel the terror of being dominated by the Golden Flash.
"You guys... what are you talking about? What truth?" A wave of sorrow rose deep within Naruto's chest. Suddenly, a vague image flashed through his mind—two figures gently speaking to him with tenderness on their faces. However, the image was too blurry for him to recognize them clearly.
"Just wait patiently for now. Eventually, not only you but also Sasuke will need to know certain things!"
Sakura suddenly felt curious about how Sasuke would react when he learned his parents were still alive.
"What exactly have you been hiding from us?" A chill ran through Sasuke's spine.
"Nothing, nothing at all," Sakura replied awkwardly with a forced smile. It wasn't that big of a lie, right? Keeping the truth about the Uchiha massacre between them was kind of for his own good anyway!
After everyone finished celebrating, night had already fallen. Naruto quietly made his way toward the location where the Scroll of Seals was supposed to be hidden, as told by Mizuki. Meanwhile, Sakura and the others secretly followed closely behind him.
Chapter 91: When Conspiracy Meets the Production Team [Part 2]
Inside a remote wooden hut, the Third Hokage stood in the center of the room, beside him lay a large scroll. The area around the hut was quiet and deserted.
Naruto approached cautiously, looking around nervously like a real thief on the prowl. On a tall tree not far from Naruto, Mizuki stood on a branch wearing a cold smirk. That idiot actually believed everything he said!
Not far away from Mizuki, standing beneath another tree, Sakura and her group looked up at Mizuki with disbelief. This trap was so obvious, yet Mizuki actually thought this plan would work.
"Third Grandpa, here comes my move! [Ninjutsu: Sexy Technique]"
A voice came from inside the hut, followed immediately by a heavy sound of something falling. Seconds later, Naruto rushed out carrying the huge scroll on his back and quickly ran into the forest.
Mizuki didn't chase after him immediately; instead, he ran back toward his own home, disappearing quickly.
Inside the hut, Sakura and the others walked in and saw the Third Hokage lying on the floor with blood dripping from his nose. An expression of satisfaction lingered on his aged face, making him look like a corpse that had passed away peacefully.
"I never thought this technique would really be developed!"
Sakura looked unamused. This heaven-defying jutsu—said to have nearly saved the entire shinobi world—had even been used to seal Kaguya otsutsuki. She had thought since Naruto had matured a lot recently, he wouldn't use this move anymore. But apparently, fate hadn't changed—Naruto had still developed the [Sexy Jutsu].
"Ugh..."
The Third slowly got to his feet, wiped the blood from his nose with his sleeve and quickly put on a serious face.
"Go. Summon all the chunin in the village and start patrols. Tell them that Naruto has stolen the Scroll of Seals."
As soon as The Third finished speaking, a shadow darted from a nearby corner and vanished—it was one of his personal Anbu, naturally already aware of what was going on. Soon after, Konoha Village lit up as dozens of chunin leapt across rooftops. Mizuki, always watchful for such news, received word quickly too.
Hardly had he opened his door when Mizuki shut it again, a look of nervous worry on his face. He rushed straight to Iruka's nearby house and knocked.
"Mizuki-sensei?" Iruka sleepily opened the door, puzzled to see him. "What're you doing here at this hour?"
"Iruka, it's bad! Naruto stole the Scroll of Seals and now the whole village is searching for him!" Mizuki said anxiously. "I don't know where he is now. Since you're close to him, I came right away to let you know."
"What? Naruto stole the Scroll of Seals?" Iruka looked stunned, then disbelieving. "That's impossible! How could Naruto ever steal the Scroll of Seals?"
"It's true. Look—ninja are already out there searching!" Mizuki took a step aside so Iruka could see the ninja rushing around outside.
"I'll go find him." Without hesitation, Iruka turned and ran into his house to change, then jumped straight out the window, completely forgetting about Mizuki still standing at the door.
Seeing this, Mizuki couldn't help but smirk triumphantly. His own name was cleared. Now was the time to retrieve the Scroll of Seals.
Thinking this, Mizuki hurriedly turned and rushed toward the meeting spot he'd arranged with Naruto. What he didn't see was that the moment he left, all the ninja running around him suddenly froze. One by one, they vanished in puffs of smoke.
"What a pain. Had to send us after just a little brat like him."
"Might as well enjoy the show while we're free anyway."
"They say Naruto-sama isn't just any kid anymore these days. That clown won't stand a chance this time."
"Minato-sama's son..."
One by one, masked Anbu members appeared on the scene. All the so-called jonin and chunin they'd seen were nothing more than illusions created by these shinobi.
