Sir Scott assured Hori there was nothing wrong with sharing a meal with your senior. She finally accepted to eat with the Bishop.
"Let's go over there."
He gestured to a red empty seat, 10 steps away, the rest filled with Priests.
Hori obeyed and collected the second bowl of ramen. She diligently trailed behind Sir Scott, observing Priests as they walked to their seat. Most paying their respects to Bishop number 6.
"Eh? Sir, your daughter's participating?!" A peculiar man dressed in a completely black trench coat asked, mistaking Hori for his child.
Sir Scott jokingly replied. "She isn't my kid, Tobi's at home right now." He cleared the confusion.
"Good day to you sir." Hori bowed her head still carrying the hot bowl of ramen, the aroma teasing her senses.
The man who asked acknowledged her greeting and apologized for his mistake.
As Sir Scott sat down, the chair creaked beneath his imposing frame.
Priests at other tables wondered who Hori was, from her white Sabbath Exams uniform they knew she was a participant. But sitting with Sir Allen Scott?!
They minded their business, obviously not wanting to interrupt a Bishops meal.
Sir Scott split his chopsticks, about to dig in.
"Thank you for the food!"
He said with a big smile. Hori noticed a small scar on his nose, since his sunshades were hung at the moment.
He carried a full band of noodles, the broth dripping into the bowl as the sent of garlic and pork attacked Hori's nostrils.
"Mmhhh~~!! This is delicious!"
He exclaimed chewing on a large piece of pork, it's fatty goodness nearly dripping from his mouth.
Hori simply sat in silence, her eyes observing the man.
"What are you waiting for?"
Sir Scott asked, gesturing Hori to eat her's.
"Thank you sir."
She bent her head in appreciation, her voice barely audible because of the hunger.
Hori also broke her chopsticks and started eating with beautiful manners. Originally bad with chopsticks, but Haruki thought her how In the event that she ate with a higher up.
Sir Scott continued his meal.
He finally spoke after halving his bowl.
"You finished the second trial easily...care to explain?"
He rose his head to ask, shocked seeing Hori silently staring at him. She had already finished her meal, producing a soft burp due to rushing it.
Growlllllll~~~!!!
Her stomach growled again, despite already eaten.
Hori wasn't even embarrassed at this point, she had already acknowledged she ate more than normal humans, she simply stared at Sir Scott's bowl of ramen.
"....uhhh... you wanna have mine?" He said dropping his chopsticks.
"...ah!" Hori snapped back to her senses.l after a long pause. "I would never be so greedy! Thank you again for the meal sir Scott!"
She quickly stood up and bent her head.
"It's okay, I'm not hungry."
He insisted, pushing the bowl towards Hori.
She felt extremely embarrassed, since multiple priests were staring at her and Bishop.
But Hori knew she was still hungry. So she swallowed her pride gave in.
"Th... thank you very much, sir."
She sat down and began eating his ramen.
Sir Scott continued their earlier conversation.
"As I was saying, how did you pass the second trial so easily?"
"Hm?"
She answered with pork in her mouth.
Sir Scott needed answers to Hori's super human attributes.
Hori paused for a while then decided. She spoke with honesty. "I passed because I and my partner did our very best!
Sir Scott knitted his brows to her answer. Thinking to himself.
'That makes no sense. Mr Shiba was responsible for time assignment. The total time given to participants who refused cheating via BS for trial 2 was 20 minutes. Where as for contestants who used the Bribery System in the previous trial, were given a time of 1 hour!'
Hori innocently continued her meal, unaware of Sir Scotts contemplation.
He slowly placed his hand on his chin.
'Could she be....a Good Man? That should explain the super human strength....but we haven't had one since the last 100,000 years!'
He pondered, now with a dead serious face scaring Hori.
'It's not normal for a person of her age to display such strength, first trial 1, surviving such a fall. Now passing Trial 2 despite a handicap.'
The current Bishops observing this years Sabbath Exams were Bishop no.5 Tadashi Shiba and
Bishop no.6 Sir Allen Scott.
The latter initially planned on having a meeting with Hori after her feat in the first trial, but was sent to eliminate a Sin at Osaka, just returning this morning.
Hori was drinking the broth from the bowl and slowly dropped it.
"Thank you very much for the food sir!"
She bowed as low as possible.
"I promise to you repay you someday!" She swore raising her head with determination.
Sir Scott stared for a bit.
"...Inori, do you have a cross shaped birth mark?" He asked, absolute seriousness evident in his tone.
"Cross shaped... birth mark? I'm not sure, I think the only birthmark I have is here." She pointed below her lip, to the right.
Sir Scott then scoffed.
'Can't sense any deception, I guess she's not lying. Besides their stupidly strong humans like Eric so...'
He relaxed on his chair and said.
"You can repay me by taking the bowls back to Mrs Fukui."
He pointed at the lunch lady.
"Of course!"
Hori quickly carried their bowls and did as he said.
'Maybe I'll take her as a student.... she's got great potential.'
The Bishop decided staring at Hori as she walked away.
"Sir Scott!"
She yelled suddenly turning back.
"Thanks again for the food!"
She bent, with the bowls still in her hands.
"... you're welcome!"
Sir Scott smiled, having a soft spot for respectful youngsters.
Hori reached the lunch lady who gave her a suspicious glare, as if interviewing her.
"Fukui-San! Thank you for the meal!" She said as she dropped the bowls on the counter.
"Your cooking is really delicious!"
Hori complimented with a smile. The old woman grunted, trying to ignore Hori's praises.
Hori grinned and waved goodbye. Finally leaving the cafeteria after a satisfying meal.
"Now... what do I do?" She wondered since she finished early. She then snapped her fingers after contemplating.
"Time to explore SHO!"
