An hour later, Ye Chen was already dressed, his expression relaxed, almost satisfied.
On the bed, Xiao Xun'er lay sprawled weakly, her body limp as if all strength had drained from her.
Tear stains still marked her delicate cheeks, and her eyes.....once bright....now stared blankly at the ceiling, hollow and lifeless.
"Alright, don't look so unhappy," Ye Chen said casually. "You must be hungry. Master even brought you something delicious."
But as his gaze lingered on her pitiful state, a faint flicker of guilt stirred within him.
It was her first time, after all. Perhaps… he had been too harsh.
"Just kill me."
Her voice was flat, stripped of all emotion. No anger. No fear. Only the numb emptiness of someone who had lost everything.
Her innocence was gone. She no longer had the face to meet Xiao Yan.
Worse still, she could already feel the weakening of her divine bloodline.
Even if she returned to the Ancient Clan, she would be nothing more than a fallen woman....her former status gone, her father's eyes filled only with disappointment.
A cold, heavy despair pressed down on her heart. She no longer saw a reason to live.
"How could I be willing to kill you?" Ye Chen drew her into his arms, speaking in a coaxing tone.
"Don't worry. Xiao Yan will never know about this."
The mention of Xiao Yan's name struck her like a blade.
Her chest tightened painfully.
How could she ever face him like this?
"Master… I beg you… kill me." Tears welled again, spilling down her cheeks as she looked at him.
She knew there would be no escape from his grasp now.
Each day ahead would be another day of humiliation, of her spirit being chipped away.
Better to end it quickly.....better to be freed from this nightmare.
Ye Chen frowned. This was a problem.
With her innocence already taken, using her to threaten Xiao Yan was no longer as effective.
Her desire for death was too strong....it could ruin his plans entirely.
It seemed the blow of losing her purity had cut far deeper than he'd expected.
"Good Xun'er… don't be like this," he murmured, his voice soft but firm.
"How about this? Master will take you out for a walk."
Her gaze flickered slightly. "Go… out? You mean… you'll let me go?"
Hearing his words, a faint flicker of light stirred in Xiao Xun'er's lifeless eyes.
For a heartbeat, it was as if she'd seen a sliver of hope.
But almost instantly, that light was snuffed out, replaced once more by the heavy weight of despair.
"No… I don't want to go out."
Her voice trembled, but her tone was resolute.
"Master… it would be better if you just killed me."
She thought of what had been taken from her....her innocence, the sacred purity of her divine bloodline....both gone forever.
The thought of facing Xiao Yan now made her chest ache with shame.
How could she ever stand before him again, knowing she was no longer the same girl?
And her father…
The image of his proud, expectant gaze cut deeper than any blade.
She could not bear to see disappointment in those eyes, could not bear the guilt of failing him.
Outside, there was nowhere for her to go.
No safety, no comfort....only the faces she dreaded and the judgment she feared.
Here, in this small and cruel world, at least she could hide from those pains… even if it meant living in chains.
No, that wasn't right.
If she stayed, Ye Chen would break her again and again, until she was nothing more than a hollow shell.
Every day would strip away more of her dignity, more of the person she once was.
Better to end it now.
Better to die than endure that fate.
"Master… kill me."
Her eyes glistened with tears, but there was a grim calm beneath them, the steadiness of someone who had already accepted the end.
Ye Chen's brow furrowed, a flicker of impatience creeping into his expression.
Just moments ago, she had screamed and struggled under him, her voice hoarse with despair, and it had stirred a strange pity in him.
But now… that pity was fading, replaced by a slow-burning irritation at her stubborn refusal to yield.
Only then did he force himself to speak in a softer tone, coaxing her like one might a stubborn child.
But to him, Xiao Xun'er's reaction felt almost… ungrateful.
He had given her food, shelter....his "protection"....and yet she still resisted him at every turn, clinging to thoughts of death.
His patience, already worn thin, was fraying fast.
"Xiao Xun'er," his voice dropped, cold and mocking, "you really want to die, don't you?"
A slow, predatory sneer curved across his lips.
The shift in his demeanor was like a sudden chill in the air.
Xun'er's body reacted before her mind did, a shiver running down her spine.
But as quickly as fear surfaced, she smothered it beneath a strange, calm acceptance.
Death no longer frightened her.
And if she wasn't afraid of dying, why should she fear Ye Chen?
As for Brother Xiao Yan…
She could only hope they might meet again on the road to the underworld.
There, perhaps, she could face him as she once was....untainted and pure.
The thought brought an almost serene smile to her lips.
"Yes," she said quietly, meeting his eyes without flinching. "I don't want to live anymore. Ye Chen… kill me."
His eyes narrowed at the sound of his own name.
What audacity.
Not only did she refuse to call him "Master," she dared to speak to him so brazenly.
It was open defiance....lawlessness.
"You want to die so badly?"
His sneer deepened, cruel amusement glinting in his gaze.
"Fine. But before that… let me show you something first."
