.......
The next day, thousands of disciples gathered in the square, eager to begin their day.
However, when they arrived, they were shocked to see the once beautiful Rainbow Bridge completely destroyed.
"Why is the Rainbow Bridge broken?" one disciple asked.
"Maybe the water was too strong, and it collapsed," another replied.
"That doesn't make sense. It looks like there was a battle, and someone smashed the Rainbow Bridge with one blow."
"Yeah, it looks like the Spiritual Venerable's huge body slammed into it," someone else guessed.
A few disciples speculated that the mighty Spiritual Venerable had been sent flying, causing the bridge to break.
As the disciples whispered among themselves, Tian Ling'er leaned closer to Zhang Xiaofan, standing on tiptoe. "Do you think they'd believe it if they knew you were the one who injured Ling Zun and broke the Rainbow Bridge?"
Zhang Xiaofan chuckled, shaking his head. "They wouldn't believe it. When I told my master yesterday that it was me who injured Ling Zun, he said that no one with my name would believe it."
Tian Ling'er grinned. "If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I wouldn't believe it either!"
She then asked, "By the way, how strong are you to hurt Ling Zun? What level of Tai Chi Xuanqing Dao have you reached?"
Zhang Xiaofan casually replied, "The ninth level of Yuqing."
Tian Ling'er was stunned. "The ninth level of Jade Purity? But didn't you become possessed before? How is your cultivation stronger now?"
Zhang Xiaofan shrugged. "Well, the ninth level of Jade Purity probably isn't enough to hurt the Spiritual Venerable. His defenses are pretty tough. It's probably just that his face was an easy target."
Just then, the loud voice of Zeng Shuchang, the head monk from Chaoyang Peak, echoed through the square. "Next match: Zhang Xiaofan from Dazhu Peak vs. Chu Yuhong from Chaoyang Peak!"
Zhang Xiaofan looked at Tian Ling'er and said, "I'm up next. Do you want to watch?"
"Of course! I want to see how you beat them. With your strength, no one can match you, except maybe Senior Sister Xueqi from Xiaozhu Peak."
Tian Ling'er followed Zhang Xiaofan as he made his way to the ring. As he took his place, the crowd murmured excitedly, "Look, it's Lu Xueqi!"
"Lu Xueqi is watching the match? I wonder if she's here to see Zhang Xiaofan or Chu Yuhong fight."
Lu Xueqi approached Tian Ling'er and stood watching Zhang Xiaofan. Tian Ling'er, smiling, spoke up, "Senior Sister Xueqi, are you here to watch my junior brother Xiaofan fight?"
"Yes," Lu Xueqi nodded. "He's very strong, and I want to see just how strong he is. I also want to check out his swordplay... or should I say, his staff work. I want to see more before I get more confident for the final match."
Tian Ling'er giggled and shook her head, "Senior Sister Xueqi, it seems like you're feeling a little pressure too."
On the stage, Chu Yuhong stood confidently, holding his sword. "Junior Brother Zhang, draw your sword. Otherwise, you won't stand a chance."
He had heard of Zhang Xiaofan's impressive abilities and rapid cultivation, but he thought Zhang's recent possession had weakened him. In his mind, Zhang Xiaofan was no match for him.
The arena was packed with thousands of disciples, most of whom weren't really interested in the match but had gathered because Lu Xueqi was there.
"Who do you think will win, Zhang Xiaofan or Chu Yuhong?" someone asked.
"Chu Yuhong, of course," another answered. "If Zhang Xiaofan hadn't been possessed, he might have stood a chance, but now... there's no hope."
As the disciples continued their gossip, Du Bishu privately placed a bet with some of the others, though he excluded Song Daren from the wager. Everyone bet on Chu Yuhong, except for Du Bishu, who believed in Zhang Xiaofan.
On stage, Zhang Xiaofan unsheathed the ordinary immortal sword that Tian Ling'er had gifted him. "Alright, let's do this!"
Chu Yuhong, with his sword drawn, confidently pointed it at Zhang Xiaofan, raising his head high. "I'll give you the first strike."
Zhang Xiaofan, unimpressed, shook his head. "No, I'm giving you the first strike. Once I strike, you won't have a chance to retaliate."
Chu Yuhong, growing furious, didn't like being underestimated. "Fine, I gave you the chance. Now, I'll finish you with one blow!"
In a flash, Chu Yuhong's body glowed green as he dashed forward, his sword shining brightly. He swung his sword down with incredible speed.
The disciples in the audience were prepared to watch as Chu Yuhong's power seemed unstoppable. But then, Zhang Xiaofan moved with a sudden grace. His immortal sword radiated green light as he swung it.
The strike was swift, precise, and ruthless — but not deadly. If Zhang Xiaofan had used his full strength, Chu Yuhong would have been sliced in half.
The sound of a sword breaking rang out as Chu Yuhong was sent flying backward. He hit the ground with a crash, his sword shattered.
The crowd fell silent.
They had all expected Zhang Xiaofan to lose, but instead, he had won with a single strike.
Lu Xueqi stood, stunned, watching Zhang Xiaofan closely. Her lips parted slightly as she murmured, "I can do that sword move too. But I can tell you haven't used your full strength yet."
She smiled faintly. "You haven't even used your fire stick yet. I want to see how powerful that is!"
