Just as the Pokédex explained, Scizor's steel body was too heavy, and it had mostly lost its ability to fly. The wings on its back couldn't support its weight; at most, they could be used to glide and soften a fall from a high place. On the other hand, now that it was a Steel-type, its defensive power had been greatly increased, like a humanoid suit of armor.
Natsui couldn't resist patting Scizor's chest. It made a loud thump-thump sound and made his palm ache, just like hitting solid steel.
"Not bad!"
Natsui smiled and walked around Scizor a few times, clicking his tongue in amazement. Scizor was also clearly very satisfied with its new body. It raised its giant pincers to look at them. The only thing it wasn't used to was having its sharp scythes replaced with pincers. Well, at least I can grab things with them now...
After letting his smaller Pokémon out to get familiar with their "new" partner, Natsui waved to Erika and returned to his room, yawning. All he wanted to do was sleep. After all, spending an afternoon shopping with a girl was a very tiring task.

The next morning, the two had breakfast and left the inn, heading straight for the Goldenrod Gym. They had walked the route yesterday, but seeing it in the daylight revealed a different kind of beauty.
They walked along a main street that ran beside a river, with tall buildings on both sides. Along the way, they saw several entrances leading underground. That was the Goldenrod Underground, a shopping street where you could find salons, snack shops, and all sorts of fashion items.
Seeing Erika's interested look, Natsui spoke up before she could. "After we challenge the gym, if it's still early, let's come back and look around."
Erika was delighted by his thoughtfulness. Perhaps it was because of the new lotion she had bought yesterday, but her face looked especially radiant today, adding to her charm.
Further ahead, they crossed a large bridge to the other side of the city. The first thing they saw was a Magnet Train station. It was a massive project that had only been completed a few years ago. The maglev train inside could reach speeds of over 550 kilometers per hour. It was said that you could cross both the Johto and Kanto regions in just a few hours and arrive in Saffron City. The station itself had a very futuristic design, and the elevated track stretched out of the city like a zipper until it disappeared from view.
Past the station was the Goldenrod TV Station, a six-story, tower-like structure. It was a major television station whose signal covered all of Johto, and its programs were consistently number one in the ratings. According to legend, the tower was originally a huge, ancient wooden structure that was rebuilt after it rotted away.
The two of them stopped and looked at the tower for a while, even taking a picture together. But as they were about to leave, they noticed that something wasn't right. The street below the station was being blocked off. A dozen police cars were parked outside, and officers were setting up a perimeter, surrounding the entire building.
Among them, Natsui spotted a familiar figure: Looker, whom he hadn't seen in a long time. Looker was standing in front of a police car, looking over a blueprint with several other officers. They were talking with worried expressions, discussing something serious.
Erika whispered, "Something must have happened."
Natsui nodded. "Where there's Looker, there's an evil organization. And in Johto, that means Team Rocket."
"Should we go see?"
Natsui hesitated for a moment, then shook his head.
"Let's not. The police are already here, so it's better if we don't interfere. If we get involved in too many things like this, people might think we're overstepping, trying to get our hands in everything."
As they spoke, two more police cars sped past them and stopped in front of the station.
Natsui and Erika were about to leave when, as if by fate, Looker turned his head and his eyes landed directly on Natsui. It was as if his eyes were equipped with radar; he had spotted him from over a hundred meters away.
Seeing Natsui, Looker's eyes lit up. He left the other officers and hurried over.
Well, Natsui couldn't just leave now. He gave Erika a wry smile and walked toward Looker.
Before Looker even got close, his voice reached Natsui's ears. "Brother Natsui! What a coincidence to see you here!"
Brother Natsui? When did he start calling me that?
"I didn't expect to see you here either. What's going on? Did something happen?"
Looker sighed. "That bunch from Team Rocket suddenly stormed the TV station this morning. They've taken over the whole building now."
They stormed the TV station? Natsui's mind raced. This seemed to match a plot point from the games.
Looker then looked Natsui up and down, glanced at Erika, and smiled. "It's been a while, Brother Natsui, you look as sharp as ever. I heard from Anabel about your raid on the Team Rocket base. Thank you so much, you really helped us out again. By the way, how is your badge quest going?"
Natsui nodded. "It's going well. I've got seven badges now. I was just on my way to challenge the Goldenrod Gym. This thing with Team Rocket, do you need my help?"
He was just being polite. The police had the building completely surrounded. Team Rocket was trapped with no way out. It was only a matter of time before they were all captured.
To his surprise, Looker laughed loudly. "It's great that you're willing to help! To be honest, I was just worrying about what to do. I can't believe I ran into you now!"
Natsui was speechless. He's not being polite at all...
He sighed. "Are you running into some difficulties?"
This time, Looker didn't answer right away. Instead, he led Natsui and Erika to the police car. The surrounding officers looked at them curiously, wondering why their commander had rushed off and returned with a strange man and woman.
