I removed my sandals so I could feel the soft sand beneath my feet as I walked on the beach, taking in the beautiful sight of the sea in the moonlight.
I stared at the raging party at the bonfire a short distance away from me, not in a festive mood.
I had not seen Damien since he left with Kim and either he was avoiding me or he went back home without telling me.
I didn't know why I snapped at him earlier. He didn't do anything wrong, at least not intentionally. I shouldn't blame him; it wasn't his fault people kept interrupting us.
Still, he should have said no to Kim and not leave me hanging like a whore begging for sex. It was embarrassing.
I hung my head in my hands and groaned. "What the hell's wrong with me?"
A loud splash on my left made me look up. I saw a shadow hanging by the rocks, bent over something and stood up.
"Hey! Are you okay?" I asked.
