Chapter 24 - Chapter 24: First Child?

Chapter 24: First Child?

Amy looked down at her stomach, which was now twice as big, in worry and fear. It was time to "give birth," as she could feel it, and it was her first time. Who wouldn't be scared in such a situation?

The tentacles caressed her as if to soothe her worries, helping her into a position where she could give birth to his kids or workers, whichever way one wanted to perceive it.

She felt a pressure from inside her stomach, trying to push itself out, and grimaced in pain. Zach saw this instantly, trying to think of how to help. Not wanting to see her bite her tongue out, he put one of his breeder tentacles into her mouth, allowing her to bite into it, which she did, and oddly, he found it… stimulating.

Other tentacles held her legs open in a wide M position, a position Zach felt was best for giving birth.

Zach watched as she cried out lightly in her oriole-like voice and pushed out a beetle-like creature covered in incubation slime. It was a little smaller than a fist and the infant of a digger.

Amy's stomach had shrunk a bit, but it wasn't over. She pushed out two more infant diggers, one after another, before lying her head back and weakly panting.

Her stomach was flat again, the flawless, smooth skin as before her impregnation. The only evidence of her giving birth was the three infant diggers and a copious amount of incubation fluid and seminal goop covering her nether regions and inner thighs.

Zach felt a connection with the three infant diggers. They were like a part of him, but also their own individuals with consciousness. They could feel his presence and even had to obey his will, but he couldn't control them like puppets. They still had their own individual minds, making him wonder if they could resist his orders when they evolved stronger?

Another fantastic aspect, which elated him, was that the creatures would not only act as his hands but also his eyes. He could see what they could see and command them from their viewpoint.

The three diggers needed sustenance, which the dungeon fulfilled by creating several platters of food out of biomass. The new creatures ravished the food and even had seconds as their bodies rapidly swelled until they were half a meter tall and nearly a meter long.

They had thick exoskeletons, which served as protection for their fleshy bodies while digging, and also against enemy attacks. They had long, sharp blades around their mouths made out of the same carapace but stronger than most standard metals. This was used for cutting up and grinding any dirt and minerals as they mined.

They could also be used as weapons, but the diggers weren't very fast and would only be effective against dumb monsters who fought head-on.

Amy watched the diggers with fearful apprehensiveness, especially their digging blades.

She need not fear, though. Zach would never hurt his own belonging.

He commanded one of the diggers to exit the cave and investigate the surroundings. He couldn't look outside of the cave or explore out there in his box form, but they could. He needed to know what was around him so he could be better prepared.

The stone bars sealing the entrance of the room broke as the digger cut through them with no effort, before it crawled out of the entrance of the cave, casually pushing the body of the second dead bandit into the pitfall trap for processing.

Outside was a lush forest, currently late afternoon by the looks of it. A faint few birds could be heard. It felt more like a clean and normal forest, that is, if others didn't know this was a magical world.

The scout-digger patrolled around the forest area, eventually reaching a spot with an odd smell.

Walking further, Zach finally saw from the digger's point of view what it was seeing.

On the floor lay bodies of knights, already rotting and half-eaten by the scary-looking birds circling above them.

From the digger's point of view, Zach instantly recognized them as the knights from his so-called family. Looking at them, he couldn't help but feel angry and disgusted at that scarred-lip man. He killed all his comrades and didn't even care to give them a proper burial or even burn their bodies, leaving them as food for the animals.

It was too barbaric for a so-called noble family.

Commanding the digger not to move closer in fear of those birds spotting it, he commanded the digger to return and at the same time sank into deep contemplation.

If his family one day discovered he had somehow turned into a dungeon consciousness by mysterious magic, then it would spell doom for him. Either they would find ways to force him into doing their work, producing lots of children for labor and making sure the dungeon kept bringing in immense resources, or maybe ending him immediately lest he became a threat to them.

Either way, his fate wouldn't end well. He needed to find ways to survive and grow stronger.

Looking at Amy, who was healing and recovering her vitality, he couldn't bring himself to keep making her get pregnant without letting her rest.

This brought him back to the issue at hand, which was that he needed more women—more women to produce his army and more weak enemies to visit his dungeon and end up as exp for him to grow stronger.

It would be good if the enemies were beasts who only followed their instincts. This way, he wouldn't need to fear them using underhanded tactics against him. Maybe after growing stronger he could face humanoid beings in his humanoid form.

Anyway, since these diggers weren't meant for battle, he needed to utilize them to their fullest uses.

Dig!

They needed to dig and expand his dungeon, build different rooms and structures in order for him to make more traps, therefore leveling his skills to higher levels and at the same time making his body (dungeon) grow bigger.
